Carlito Returns, LWO beat Lashley & Street Profits at WWE Fastlane 2023
Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, and Carlito defeated The Street Profits and Lashley in a six-man tag team match at WWE Fastlane 2023 PLE.
The match began as a 2-on-3 handicap match, which posed a challenging situation for Mysterio and Escobar right from the start. Escobar started strong against Ford, but Ford managed to strike Escobar’s knees with a chop block after a distraction from Lashley.
Lashley and The Street Profits kept control over the match with just a rally from Rey Mysterio being the high point for LWO. It continued until Carlito’s entrance music hit, and he made his way to the ring. After receiving the tag, Carlito burst into action, executing a series of rapid and effective moves and taking control of the match.

Rey delivered a seated senton to Dawkins on the outside floor, while Escobar executed a suicide dive on Lashley, slamming him into the barricade. Simultaneously, Carlito connected with a backstabber on Ford inside the ring, securing the pinfall victory.
Initially, it was planned for Del Toro or Wilde to be Rey and Escobar’s partners. During the October 6 episode of SmackDown, Del Toro and Wilde suffered injuries inflicted by The Street Profits while they were involved in Mysterio’s match against Lashley.
Later in the show, Mysterio informed Escobar that their fellow LWO members hadn’t been medically cleared to compete at Fastlane, leaving them without a full team. Mysterio then stated he would “make a call” before leaving the scene.
After that, it was reported that the third member accompanying Escobar and Mysterio would be Carlito. It was also reported that the storyline regarding the LWO members’ injuries was deliberately crafted to set the stage for Carlito’s comeback to the WWE.
