Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Rampage August 18 Fight for the Fallen 2023 event which was pre-taped earlier in the week with Dynamite(check here for spoilers).

Aussie Open defended ROH Tag Team Championship against Ethan Page and Brother Zay. Rey Fenix and Komander were set for a luchador’s clash. Sammy Guevara was also in action. Toni Storm and Ruby Soho teamed up to face Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue.

RESULTS

  • Rey Fenix defeated Komander in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Aussie Open(Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis)(c) defeated Ethan Page and Brother Zay in a tag team match via pinfall to retain ROH Tag Team Championship.
  • Sammy Guevara defeated John Cruz in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Hikaru Shida & Skye Blue defeated The Outcasts(Toni Storm & Ruby Soho) in a tag team match via pinfall.

LIVE UPDATES

Rey Fenix vs Komander

They shake hands to start the match. Fenix trips Komander from behind and gets his hands trapped. Komander attempts a crucifix pin for a two-count. A series of counters from both men get them quick two-counts. They come to a stalemate. They lock up again. Komander lands on his feet on a back body drop. They run the ropes, dodging each other several times. Fenix sends Komander to the floor but Komander gets back to the apron to stop his dive. Fenix nails him with a kick to the face. Komander dodges running kick on the ropes and hits a springboard hurricanrana and tope suicida. Komander walks the ropes but Fenix avoids his springboard move. Fenix trips him and hits a diving double stomp to get a two-count. Fenix hits low dropkick. We cut to a break.

Both men are taking shots at each other. Fenix hits chops. Komander hits back with chops and Fenix invites more of them. Komander hits tijeras next. Fenix hits him with a superkick. Komander comes back with a sunset flip to get a near fall. He hits a lungblower next to get a two-count. Fenix whips him to the corner but Komander jumps back with a moonsault, only to be cut off with tackle from Fenix. Fenix hits a running kick on the ropes to get a two-count. Komander hits a crucifix bomb for a near fall. Fenix blocks a superkick and hits a kick to midsection. Komander hits a roundhouse kick before Fenix fires one of his own after coming off the ropes. They trade elbow strikes while they are on their knees. Rey hits a dropkick to send Komander to the floor. Komander pushes him off the rope and hits a springboard Code Red. He follows up with a ropewalk moonsault but Fenix kicks out of the pin. Fenix hits a superkick for another near fall. Fenix hits a Muscle Buster to get the pinfall.

Winner – Rey Fenix

Britt Baker is interviewed backstage regarding All In match. She talks about being in the first women match in AEW and building women’s division one by one, and it will be a full circle moment for her when she wins AEW World Championship.

Aussie Open(Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis)(c) vs Ethan Page and Brother Zay – ROH Tag Team Championship

Aussie Open attack Page and Zay as the bell ring. They knock Page off the mat and double team on Zay to hit quick moves to keep him down. Davis slams Zay face first into the turnbuckle. Fletcher comes in to stomp on Zay. Zay fires back with elbow shots. Fletcher stops him with a toe kick. Zay hits an armdrag and hurricanrana on Fletcher but Davis comes in quickly to stop him from the tag. Zay hits an enzuigiri on Davis and jumps to tag in Page. Page clotheslines Davis to the floor. Zay hits Swantom Bomb on Aussie Open on the floor. Fletcher breaks the pin attempt on Davis. Quick counters before Aussie Open slam Zay and Page into each other to take us to a break.

Fletcher is in control against Page as we return. Page counters with a sheer drop brainbuster. Zay gets a tag and knocks off Davis before a clothesline on Fletcher. He hits a moonsault on Davis on the floor and a springboard crossbody on Fletcher to get a two-count. Zay goes for the Swanton bomb but Fletcher gets his knees up. Aussie Open double team to hit a series of moves in quick succession. Fletcher hits an assisted neckbreaker but Page breaks the pin. Aussie Open hit Page with stereo kicks. They hit a double lariat before they finish off Zay with their double team finisher to get the win.

Winners – Aussie Open

After the match, Aussie Open get on the mic and claim that they will prove that they are the best team. Fletcher calls both MJF and Adam Cole names and says MJF will never hit a kangaroo kick ever.


We get a video package from the Righteous.


The Hardys challenge Aussie Open for ROH Tag titles on Dynamite next week.

Sammy Guevara vs John Cruz

Sammy shakes hands before they start. Sammy hits some quick dropkicks to send Cruz to the floor and hits a suicide dive. He hits a high kick from the apron. Cruz hits a boot to his face. Sammy quickly hits GTH to get the pinfall.

Winner – Sammy Guevara

We get a video promo from Nyla Rose saying that she does what she wants, when she wants and who she wants with. She will remind everyone of this.

The Outcasts(Toni Storm & Ruby Soho) vs Hikaru Shida & Skye Blue.

The Outcasts attack their opponents before the bell and send them into the barricade. They take Skye into the ring and Ruby starts the match against here. Skye hits tijeras. She hits a rising knee strike before she gets to the top rope. Toni distracts her and Ruby decks her. Ruby slams her face into the corner and brings in Toni for more punishment. Quick tags between The Outcasts. Shida is back on the apron now. More tags as Skye is kept cornered. Shida puts on the breaks on a whip, that allows Skye to fire some forearm shots. The Outcasts corner her once again. Toni knocks her off the apron with a hip attack. Ruby hits her with a Russian Leg Sweep. We cut to a break.

Skye tags in Shida just as we return. Shida nails punches on both opponents before hitting Ruby with an enzuigiri. Saraya distracts her but that does not stop her from nailing Ruby with a forearm and a question mark kick. Toni comes in and decks her. Skye drops Toni in response. Shida hits a rising knee strike before Shida breaks the pin. Toni sprays paint in Skye’s eyes amid the commotion and hits a hip attack. Shida breaks the pin. Shida nails Toni with punches. Saraya grabs Shida’s boot to allow Toni hit her with a high kick. Ruby tags in. Skye tackles Toni off the apron. Shida blocks No Future kick and gets the pinfall with a jacknife cover.

Winner – Hikaru Shida & Skye Blue

Saraya attacks Shida after the match. Britt Baker runs out and the brawling continues.
