AEW International Championship match is officially announced for AEW NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 PPV event.

Orange Cassidy will defend his AEW International championship in a fatal 4-way match against Zack Sabree, Katsuyori Shibata, and Daniel Gracia at the PPV event.

On the June 14 episode of AEW, Dynamite Cassidy successfully defeated Mogul Embassy in an 8-man tag team match with Sting, Darby Allin, and Keith Lee. After that, when he was backstage with Renne, Zack Sabre interrupted and challenged him to a title vs title match at Forbidden Door.

Then Daniel Gracia showed up and said he came closest to dethrone Cassidy and also wanted that title opportunity. When Garcia enquired about Shibata, Cassidy challenged Sabre and Garcia to a tag team match for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

During June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, Zack Sabree and Daniel Gracia were able to beat Cassidy and Shibata. Cassidy The ending of the match saw Cassidy hitting Orange Punch on his own partner Shibata after Garcia ducked. Daniel Gracia then pinned Shibata while Sabre held Cassidy in a knee bar.

After the match, it was officially announced that Orange Cassidy would defend his AEW International championship in a fatal 4-way match against the other 3 men in the match.

Katsuyori Shibata is currently the ROH Pure champion, and Zack Sabree Jr. is the NJPW TV champion. If one of them wins, it would result in them becoming double champions.

Forbidden Door 2023 is set to take place this Saturday in Toronto, Canada.
