Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Dynamite June 21, 2023 episode which was the go-home episode for Forbidden Door PPV live from Wintrust Arena in Chicago, IL,

Jeff Jarrett and Mark Briscoe clashed in a concession stand brawl. TBS Women’s title was on the line as Kris Statlander will defend the title against Taya Valkyrie. Adam Cole addressed the fans after his time-limit draw against MJF.

A brothers tag team match saw The Hardys take on The Gunns. Orange Cassidy and Katsuyori Shibata clash with Daniel Garcia and Zack Sabre Jr. in another tag team match.

Chris Jericho teamed up with Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki to take on Action Andretti, Darius Martin and AR Fox. Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada came face-to-face before Forbidden Door. Eddie Kingston also had a short face-off with Jon Moxley.

Live Updates

The Hardys vs The Gunns

Matt starts against Austin and takes the upper hand. The Hardys double team on Austin. Jeff misses a corner splash but hits a back elbow and a moonsault to recover quickly. Colten takes a cheap shot at Jeff behind the referee. Austin takes Jeff to the corner and hits a punches. A suplex gets him a two-count. Jeff throws Austin out of the ring. Colten tags in and Jeff hits him with a jawbreaker. Jeff tries to drag for a tag but Austin blocks him. Jeff hits a corkscrew kick and tags in Matt.

Matt hits quick moves and sends Colten to the floor with a back-body drop. He hits Twist of Fate on Austin. Colten puts Austin’s leg on the ropes to break the pinfall. The Gunns double team to hits 3:10 of Yuma and Jeff has to break the pin. Jeff hits a double DDT and a double leg drop. He hits Twist of Fate on Austin and goes to the top. Juice Robinson distracts the referee and Jay White knocks off Jeff off the top. The Gunns hit 3:10 of Yuma on Jeff to get the pinfall.

Jeff Jarrett vs Mark Briscoe – Concession Stand Brawl

Mark starts with big uppercuts. He sends Jeff through a table and throws a trash can over him. Mark throws some ketchup and more things on Jeff. Jeff hits back with some shots buts sends him into a concession stand. Karen comes in and sprays some ketchup on Mark’s face, but a girl throws some water in his face to help him out. Mark sets up Jeff on the table and climbs a ladder. Sonjay Dutt pushes Mark off the ladder and puts him through the table. We cut to a break.

We return to see Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal assisting Jeff Jarrett in the ring. Papa Briscoe comes in and puts Lethal through a table with a chokeslam. He gets into the ring and drops Jarrett and Sonjay also. Karen hits him with a low blow. Mark scares her off the ring and fights back against Jarrett. Satnam Singh hits a chokeslam on Mark. Christopher Daniels and Best Friends run out before Lucha Bros also run out to even the odds against Satnam. In the ring, Mark blocks the Strobe and rolls up Jarrett to get the pinfall.

Winner – Mark Briscoe

Blackpool Combat Club cut a promo backstage with Konosuke Takeshita. Moxley challenge The Elite for a 5-on-5 match at Forbidden Door where Takeshita and Shota Umino will be with them. Bryan Danielson says Kazuchika Okada is not even here tonight because he can show that Okada is not the best wrestler of this generation. He says he will call out Okada later from the ring.

Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki vs Action Andretti, Darius Martin & AR Fox

Andretti and Guevara lock up to start. Guevara hits a shoulder tackle. They come to a stalemate when they both try to hit a superkick. Suzuki and Martin come in. Martin hits chops but Suzuki no-sells them. Suzuki drops Fox with big forearm shots. Jericho tags in and joins Suzuki in hitting double shoulder tackle. Suzuki poses with Jericho in the middle. Fox tags in and hits an uppercut on Jericho before a clothesline in the corner. Fox goes to the top but Jericho ducks him. Fox hits a kick to midsection. Guevara hits a knee to his back behind the referee and Jericho runs him over to take advantage. We cut to a break.

Fox counters Guevara by hitting a knee strike as we return from the break. Jericho tags in and knocks off Martin. Fox ducks a lariat and tags in Andretti who hits quick shots on Jericho. Jericho hits back with chops. Andretti ducks him and hits a suicide dive on Sammy on the ramp. Andretti hits a springboard clothesline before he sends Jericho to this corner. Suzuki comes in without a tag and chokes Andretti. Martin breaks the choke but Suzuki nails him with a forearm. Martin helps Andretti to take him down.

Guevara hits them with a splash. Fox sends Guevara to the floor and hits a moonsault on Suzuki and Guevara. Back in the ring, Andretti hits a springboard moonsault on Jericho for a near fall. Martin tags in and brings Jericho. Everyone take turns to hit big moves. Martin and Jericho the one left in the ring again. Martin hits a standing Spanish fly and comes more quick moves. He goes for a missile dropkick but Jericho counters it and puts on Liontamer. Martin taps out.

Winners – Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki

Renee Paquette is in the ring to ask Jericho about his face-off with Sting last week. Jericho says that moment was great for everyone other than him. Jericho says Sting just shows up to the highest bidder and calls him a wh##e. He challenges Sting and Darby to find a partner to face them in a trios match. Jericho continues to trash Sting until Sting’s music hits and he comes out with Darby. Sting asks Jericho why is he so uptight. Sting says they had a great moment but a moment is not enough. So, he will have some time with Jericho in the ring. Darby says Jericho has made many enemies everywhere and they will reveal their mystery partner at Collision.


Tony Schiavone and RJ City are backstage to pull names for the blind eliminator tag team tournament. Tony brings out two names and leaves the rest for RJ City.


The Elite are backstage where they are discussing who will be teaming with them at Forbidden Door. Eddie Kingston comes in and says he hates Claudio so much and will agree to team with them. But, he will choose the last member of the team as he trust no one.

Cole & MJF!

Adam Cole comes out to the ring. Cole says MJF gave him the best match of his career but it was a draw. So, they should have a rematch. He brings out MJF. MJF says Cole came back last week and came back better than ever. MJF says he is welcome to drag that guy out. But, he is worried about Cole because he took shots to head and everyone knows MJF would have beaten him if the time did not run out. MJF says he will say no to Cole for a rematch due to Cole’s health and well-being. Cole then proposes why not he whoop MJF’s ass.

Tony Schiavone gets up on the commentary table for an announcement. Both MJF and Cole tells him to shut up. Tony announces that MJF and Cole are going to form a tag team in the blind eliminator tournament since he drew their names earlier tonight. After this, Hiroshi Tanahashi appears on the big screen and tells MJF to accept his challenge and show up at Forbidden Door. MJF gets mad at this and says Tony Khan is running a sh#t show.

Cole mocks MJF saying that MJF is avoiding Tanahashi since he thinks Tanahashi is better than him. MJF denies but Cole keeps mocking him. This leads to MJF losing his cool and agreeing to defend the title at Forbidden Door.

Orange Cassidy & Katsuyari Shibata vs Daniel Garcia & Zack Sabre Jr.

Shibata and Sabre start the match with some technical wrestling. They come to a stalemate and we cut to a break.

They trade some hold and submission moves as we return. Garcia tags in and Shibata nails him with forearms. Garcia nails a punch before raking his face. Cassidy tags in and Garcia mocks him with some dancing. Cassidy mocks him back by mimicing his dance. Garcia rolls up Cassidy to get a two-count. Garcia gets on a waistlock but Cassidy gets his hands in his pocket and slips out. Cassidy hits a dropkick on Garcia. Sabre tags in and offers Cassidy some free shots. Cassidy hits lazy kicks before Sabre catches his leg. They counter each other in quick succession until Sabre hits a snapmare and then cranks Cassidy’s neck with his legs. Garcia tags in and hits a snap suplex for a two-count. Sabre comes back in and keeps the pressure. He takes Cassidy to the floor to take us to another break.

We return to see all 4 men hitting each other with big moves. Shibata puts on a choke on Garcia. Shibata lets him go as Sabre gets in. Shibata hits a shot to put Sabre in the corner. Shibata puts on the choke once again. Cassidy comes in to hit Orange punch on Garcia but he ducks and Cassidy lands it on Shibata. Sabre puts Cassidy in a knee bar. Garcia rolls up Shibata to get the pinfall.

Winners – Daniel Garcia & Zack Sabre Jr.

After the match, all 4 men try to pull away AEW title. AEW announces that the title will be on the line at Forbidden Door between these 4 men. Cassidy pulls the title away from Shibata and goes away.


Will Ospreay pulls up in the parking lot and Alex Marvez is there to ask him about him disparaging Canadians on social media. Don Callis comes in and tells Ospreay that Omega is rallying up his fanbase but he will provide military grade security for Ospreay and he wants a fair fight on Forbidden Door.


We see dueling pre-recorded promos from Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale before their match is announced for Forbidden Door.

Kris Statlander(c) vs Taya Valkyrie – AEW TBS Women’s Championship

They ducks each other until Kris catches Taya with a big boot. Kris hits some chops and punches in the corner. Taya counters when she charges into the ring. They trade some overhead chops before a leg sweep and a leg drop from Kris. Taya hits kicks and a knee strike. Kris sends her to the floor with a low bridge. She hits a big kick from the apron before hitting a moonsault. Kris sends her back into the ring. Taya hits a shotgun dropkick to knock her off the apron to take us to a break.

They are trading punches as we return. Kris hits uppercuts in the corner before a running boot and suplex. Taya hits back with a double underhook move. Statlander ducks a curbstomp and hits a clothesline to get a two-count. Taya hits a spear coming off the ropes. Taya hits a sliding German suplex next. Statlander lands shots as Taya gets to the top. She hits a superplex and then hits the piledriver to get the pinfall.

Forbidden Door Go Home Brawl!

Eddie Kingston is out to the ring and says The Elite left because he said does not respect them. Jon Moxley comes out and says Eddie has betrayed him. Eddie says Moxley betrayed him first by teaming with Claudio. After some more war of words, Eddie goes on to announce that Tomohiro Ishii will be the mystery partner.

Ishii comes out and Blackpool Combat Club attack them. Only Yuta and Danielson are in the ring with Ishii. Danielson calls out Okada and says he will keep kicking Ishii in the face if Okada does not come out. Okada’s music hits and he comes out to have a face-off with Danileson. Yuta attacks Okada from behind. He holds Okada but Okada ducks and Yuta catches Danielson’s Busaika knee. Okada tries to hit Rainmaker on Danielson but he ducks and leaves the ring. Okada hits Yuta with Rainmaker to close the show.
