AEW Full Gear 2023

Welcome to ITNWWE’s live results coverage for AEW Full Gear 2023 PPV event, which was live from Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA.

AEW World Champion MJF headlined the show with a title defense against Jay White. He also defended ROH Tag Team titles, teaming up with Samoa Joe, to face The Gunns. Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page clashed in a Texas Deathmatch. Hikaru Shida defended AEW Women’s title against Toni Storm.

Edge, Sting and Darby Allin faced Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne in a trios match. The event also saw TBS Women’s title on the line in a triple-threat match between Kris Statlander, Julia Hart and Skye Blue in action. Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley clashed over International Championship.

Ricky Starks and Big Bill defended AEW Tag Team titles in a fatal 4-way match with FTR, La Faccion Ingobernables and Kings of Black Thorne. The Young Bucks took on The Golden Jets(Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho).

Buddy Mathews and Claudio Castagnoli clashed in an interesting match while Eddie Kingston defends ROH World Championship against Jay Lethal on the pre-show. Tune in below for the results.

  • Eddie Kingston(c) defeated Jay Lethal in a singles match via pinfall to retain ROH World Championship.
  • Claudio Castagnoli defeated Buddy Mathews in a singles match.

LIVE RESULTS

Eddie Kingston(c) vs Jay Lethal – ROH World Championship

Lethal starts with a shoulder tackle and puts on a side headlock. Eddie pushes him to the corner and unloads with punches. He uses a Russian Leg Sweep to get Lethal to the floor. Lethal goes for figure four but Eddie kicks him out of the ring. Lethal comes back after a while, only to get hit with more chops. Eddie then invites chops from Lethal. They get to the floor and a distraction allows Jeff Jarrett on the floor to send Eddie into the barricade. Lethal hits a suplex in the ring.

Sonjay Dutt also takes a cheap shot at Eddie. Lethal puts on a chinlock. Eddie breaks free but Lethal hits a belly-to-belly throws to send him into the corner to get a two-count. Lethal keeps control for a while. He hits some big chops just before Eddie hits an high angle suplex. Eddie hits machine gun chops in the corner and a boot scrapper against the ropes. Lethal hits Lethal combination to get back into the match. Lethal goes to the top rope, but Eddie avoids his move.

Lethal hits an elbow drop on the second attempt. Eddie hits saito suplex to counter Lethal Injection. He knocks Jarrett off the apron. Eddie and Lethal drops each other with lariats at the same time. Lethal goes to get his hands on Jarrett’s guitar, but Ortiz comes in and pulls it away. Lethal and Eddie trade quick moves before Eddie hits spinning hammer fist to get the pinfall.

Buddy Mathews vs Claudio Castagnoli

Buddy throws his shirt at Claudio before starting to unload with kicks. Claudio hits back with European uppercuts. Claudio goes for a swing but Buddy kicks him away. Claudio counters a whip on the floor to send Buddy into the barricade. Claudio hits more uppercuts before getting into the ring. Claudio gets out once again and gets cut off with a tackle. Back to the ring, Buddy hits a Meteora to get a two-count.

Buddy keeps control for a while. Claudio decks him with another uppercut to get a two-count. Claudio goes the Neutralizer. Buddy goes for back body drop but Claudio lands on his feet. Buddy goes for another meteora but Claudio counters to take him into the Giant Swing. He sets up on the top rope. Claudio hits him with the ringpost. Buddy slips out and slams Claudio’s face into the camera on top of the ring post.

Buddy hits a high angle suplex in a body slam. He puts on a crossface. Claudio breaks free quickly though. He hits an F5. He follows up with a running start to hit another European uppercut. Claudio hits a powerbomb and puts on sharpshooter. Mathews taps out after a while.

MJF & Samoa Joe(c) vs The Gunns(Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) – ROH Tag Team Championship

MJF starts the match against Austin and hits a big shot. He hits stomps in the corner. Joe gives him an assist from outside to drop Colten also. Joe gets himself a tag and this enrages MJF. Joe hits a suicide dive on the Gunns on the floor. Colten Gunn goes for a dropkick but Joe walks away to avoid it. Joe sends him to the corner to hit an enzuigiri. Colten hits a clothesline on MJF when he comes in.

The Gunns take over the control. Austin hits back elbows. The Gunns drop MJF with a double team move. Quick tags between them. MJF sends both brothers out of the ring with a back body drop. They return to the ring but MJF ducks them and tags in Joe. Joe runs riot with tackles, clotheslines and a kick. He goes for a muscle buster but MJF tags in and wants to hit the move. Austin slips out but MJF is able to drop both opponents. MJF signals for the kangaroo kick but Joe tags in.

MJF and Joe go for stereo Muscle Buster but the Gunns slip out and slam each other. They hit 3:10 of Yuma on Joe. MJF pulls out Austin to break the pinfall. Adam Cole’s music hit and he comes out to the stage. Joe takes advantage of the distraction to put Austin in Coquina Clutch to get a submission.

Samoa Joe leaves after hugging MJF. As MJF is talking to Cole, The Gunns attack him from behind. They soften up MJF as the beatdown continues. Cole can’t do anything. The Gunns finally stop and MJF is being stretchered out. MJF tells Cole to not let Jay White take his title.


We get a cold open video package as the main card opens. A choir comes out to do Christian Cage’s theme song, as he makes his entrance with Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne. Ric Flair comes out after this. Sting and Darby Allin comes out to the stage. Adam Copeland joins them next before they all enter the ring.

Christian Cage, Nick Wayne & Luchasaurus vs Sting, Darby Allin & Adam Copeland

Adam Copeland also has his face painted with Sting and Darby. Christian hugs Nick before the match starts. Darby puts him to the corner. The referee gets in between them to break up, but Nick hits a cheap shot. Darby gets him down and hits a deadlift armdrag to slam him to the mat. Darby hits a couple of elevated armdrags. Sting tags in and whips Nick into the barricade. Nick escapes and tags in Christian. Adam also asks for a tag and gets it from Sting. Christian and Adam face off, but Christian quickly tags out to Luchasaurus.

Copeland hits a few shots on Luchasaurus before Luchasaurus fires back. Adam kicks Luchasaurus in the face before a side-Russian leg-sweep trip. He follows up with a swinging neck-breaker. Darby tags in and Luchasaurus puts him in the corner before hitting an uppercut. Cage hits him with a neck-breaker over the top rope. Luchasaurus chokeslams Allin on the apron and throws him back into the ring. Darby is kept under control for a while. Nick hits a back-breaker on Darby during this and mocks Flair with the strut. Luchasaurus tags in and kicks Darby in the mid-section.

Adam gets the tag and hits running tackle and a DDT. He knocks Luchasaurus off the apron before throwing Nick Wayne onto him. Darby hits a suicide dive on Nick and Luchasaurus. Sting jumps on them after this. Adam goes for a spear in the ring but Luchasaurus catches him. Luchasaurus goes for a double chokeslam on Adam and Sting. Sting gets him in position for Scorpion Death Drop and Adam assists him with an elbow drop. Luchasaurus fights back after this, and slams all 3 opponents into the corner.

Christian and Ric Flair get physical on the floor. Flair hits him with chops. Christian flicks at his eyes and hits a low blow. Christian then gets into the ring and goes to hit Adam with a title belt, but catches Luchasaurus with it instead. Adam runs after him, but he gets into the crowd. Adam hits Luchasaurus with a spear to get the pinfall.

Tony Schiavone is on the stage. Jay White is also out on the stage. Tony tells us that MJF is injured and will not be able to defend his title tonight. So, Jay White will be crowned the champion. Adam Cole comes out on his crutches and says he has already talked to Tony Khan and he will fight White in place of MJF. White asks him how he will fight on crutches but Cole is adamant on fighting tonight.

Orange Cassidy(c) vs Jon Moxley – AEW International Championship

Cassidy starts with a big punch but Mox no sells it and hits some punches himself. They spill to the floor and Mox sends Cassidy into the announce table. Back to the ring, Mox hits a suplex. Mox is relentless and is hitting more punches. Cassidy tries to hit back with some shots. Mox drops him with a Bossman slam to get a two-count. Mox hits more chops before putting Cassidy on the top rope to rake his back. He bites Mox goes for a superplex but Cassidy hits some punches and rakes Mox’s back.

Cassidy changes positions and hits some headbutts before hitting a superplex. Cassidy hits a diving DDT. He follows up with another DDT. Mox kicks out at 1 only. Mox is already cut open on his head. Cassidy hits kicks to the chest. Mox starts to no-sell those kicks but falls to the floor when he goes for a tackle. Cassidy hits him with suicide dive. Cassidy hits another tope suicida. Back to the ring, Cassidy blocks Paradigm shift and hits stundog millionaire.

Mox hits him with hammer and anvil elbows right after this. He continues with some ground and pound punches. Mox goes for a piledriver. Cassidy tries to counter with Beach Break but Mox slips away. Cassidy puts on RedRum. Mox gets to the ropes. Cassidy goes for a Orange Punch but Mox hits RKO and gotch piledriver. Mox hits some lazy kicks to mock Cassidy. Cassidy starts to hit back and hits a trio of Orange punches. He hits another trio of Orange Punches before hitting Beach Break to get the pinfall.

Adam Cole vs Jay White is made official as the main event tonight.

Hikaru Shida(c) vs Toni Storm – AEW Women’s Championship

Toni rips off her notes that she made for Shida and starts with punches. Shida hits back with her shots quickly. She traps Toni’s arm on the ropes to get some free chops on her breasts. More chops from Shida and Toni is scampering around the ring. Toni gets enraged and fires back with a variety of chops herself. She hits a bulldog next before another big punch. They trade more punches before Shida hits a running knee.

Shida hits some punches from the second rope. Toni pulls her off the second rope to slam her to the mat. Toni gets a shoe from her butler. the referee takes it away but Toni has another shoe hidden which she slams on Shida’s face. Shida kicks out of the pin though. Shida counters Storm Zero to hit one herself. Shida unloads with more punches. Toni also fires with open handed strikes. She hits a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Toni ducks a Meteora and Shida’s leg give out.

Tony puts her on an ankle lock to capitalize on it. Shida had to suffer almost for a minute before she gets to the ropes. Toni pulls off her shoe to hit her with it, but Shida ducks it and throws her to the floor. Shida gets a kendo stick and beats up Toni’s butler with it. Back to the ring, Toni sets up Shida in the corner and hits a hip attack with a metal plate hidden in her trunks. She gets a pinfall easily.

Mariah May comes out after the match and gives her a bouquet.


Eddie Kingston is interviewed backstage and is announced as the next competitor for the Intercontinental Classics tournament. He adds that he will put both his ROH World Championship and NJPW Strong Openweight title on the line in each of his matches. So, the winner of the tournament will be the first AEW Triple Crown Champion as he will also become the Intercontinental Champion.

Ricky Starks & Big Bill(c) vs FTR(Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs Rush & Dralistico vs Kings of The Black Throne(Malakai Black & Brody King)- Fatal 4 Way match for AEW Tag Team Championship

Chaos all around to start the match. FTR slam Bill and Brody into the corner. The ring gets clear and only Dax and Black are in the ring. Dax hits a straight punch on Black to drop him to the floor. Dax also gets tp the floor. Rush sets up the ladder in the middle and try to climb. They return to the floor and trade shots. Dralistico comes into the ring. Cash goes for a spear but Dralistico leap frogs him. Cash’s spear takes out Rush onto other on the floor. Dralistico hits a suicide dive on everyone. Dax hits a superlex on others on the floor.

We faced some technical difficulties after this and could only see Ricky Starks slamming Cash Wheeler’s face with the title on top of the ladder to drop him down before pulling out the belts.

Kris Statlander(c) vs Julia Hart vs Skye Blue – Triple Threat Match for AEW TBS Women’s Championship

A back and forth 3-way match throughout. Blue hits a Code Blue on Statlander but she kicked out. When she went for another one but Julia hits her with a superkick. Julia then went for Heartless lock on Blue. Statlander breaks it and hits suplexes on both opponents. Statlander hits Saturday Night Fever on Blue, but Julia pushes her aside and pins Blue herself to win the title.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring to reveal AEW’s new signing. It is Will Ospreay who makes his entrance and signs the contract. Ospreay wants to clarify that he is not coming in just yet as he still has some days left in NJPW contract. He will be back on the road to Revolution. He also hypes next year’s All In London event.

Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland – Texas Death Match

Swerve makes his entrance first. Hangman attacks Swerve before he can complete his entrance. Big shots from Hangman before hit Buckshot Lariat. Swerve makes it to his feet before the 10 count. Hangman beat him up on the floor for a while. He brings out duct tape and binds his hands before hitting some unprotected chops. Hangman then uses staplers on his body. Back to the ring, Hangman hits him with a chair shot.

Swerve is already bleeding. Page staples his son’s painting on Swerve’s face. When it does not stick on one cheek, he staples it on the other cheek. Page then drinks Swerve’s blood drops which are dripping off his face. Hangman brings out a barbed wired chair and goes to slam it on Swerve’s head, but Swerve hits him with a low blow. Swerve breaks free off the duct tape while Page gets up. Page goes to use stapler again but Swerve no-sells it.

Swerve drops Hangman with a big shot. He uses the stapler on himself to show that it is not affecting him anymore. He sets up the barb wired chair in the corner and throws Hangman into it head first. Swerve brings out a cinderblock now. Hangman fights back. He goes for a clothesline on the apron but Swerve blocks it. Swerve instead drops his head on the cinderblock. Swerve does not wait for Page to get up though. He hits a piledriver on the top of the barricade. They get back into the ring. Hangman starts to hit punches. He hits a fallaway slam. Hangman then scratches Swerve’s head with barbed wire. He puts on the wire across his chest and hits a fallaway slam. He hits a moonsault on the floor with barbed wire chair.

Prince Nana distracts Hangman and gets kicked away. But, this allows Swerve to recover to duck a buckshot lariat and hit back at Hangman. Swerve goes for a piledriver on barbed chair, but Hangman turns it around and hits the move himself. The referee starts to count. Hangman gets up at 3. Swerve gets up at 8 after an assist from Nana. Hangman hits barbed chair shot on his back. He sets up the chair for a superplex but Swerve slips out and hits him with the chair on his back. Swerve then hits a powerbomb on the chair and follows up with the Swerve stomp. Hangman broke the count at the last second and falls down immediately.

Swerve brings out pieces of shredded glass to spread on Hangman’s back. Swerve hits a splash on the back and a JML driver on top of glasses. Hangman rolls towards the ropes and uses the ropes to get up at the last second. Swerve sets up a barbed wire table on the middle of the ring. Hangman meets him on the top rope and bites him. Hangman hits a Fallaway slam on the barbed wire table before a powerbomb and Deadeye on the broken table itself. Hangman wraps the barbed wire across Swerve’s face and hits a buckshot lariat. The referee starts to count. Swerve rolls to the floor and stands up using the apron to break the count.

Brian Cage attacks Hangman in the ring. He hits a bucklebomb. He goes to set up a table on the outside. When he returns to the ring, Hangman hits back with punches and a rolling elbow using barbed wire. Hangman hits a lariat to drop him for good. Prince Nana gets into the ring to hit Hangman with a chair. Hangman puts him through a table with Deadeye.

Swerve hits Hangman with a cinderblock on the back of his head. He then goes to wrap a chain across his neck and hangs him using it. Swerve lets it go after a while The referee starts counting. Hangman shows life at 9, but can’t get up in time.

The Young Bucks(Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs The Golden Jets(Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho)

Nick and Kenny start the match. Kenny starts strong. Matt whips him to the corner. Kenny hits a hurricanrana. The Bucks go to the floor. Jericho tags in, but gets pulled off the apron. Omega hits a senton dive on Matt on the floor. Jericho hits Nick with a springboard kick to drop him off to the floor. The Bucks work on Jericho on the floor with double team. They slam Jericho’s right arm on the steel steps. They starts to work on the arm in the ring. Jericho hits chops with his left arm before a double clothesline.

Nick is unaffected by it due to Jericho’s arm being compromised. He hits a dropkick to send Jericho to the floor and slams him into the ring post. Back to the ring, The Bucks control Jericho for a while. Jericho fights out of the corner and hits a clothesline on Nick. Omega tags in and fight both opponents with kicks, enzuigiri and snapdragon suplexes. Omega keeps up with his signature offense. Nick counters in the ring but Omega hits him with a knee. Jericho tags in and hits shoulder tackles on both opponents. He hits a springboard moonsaults on both at the same time.

Everyone start to hit each other. Jericho puts on Walls of Jericho on Matt. Nick tries to intervene but Omega drops him on the floor. Jericho puts pressure on the submission, but his right arm gives up due to injury. Matt hits back heel kicks to break free completely. Omega comes in. Matt hits double Northern Lights suplex. Nick tags in before a dive on the outside. Nick sets up Jericho on the ropes to hit a moonsault from Matt. Jericho hits a hurricanrana on Matt.

Nick hits a low blow kick on Jericho. Omega comes in for an argument with him. Matt hits a low blow on Omega also. Matt hits Judas effect on Jericho but Omega breaks the pin. Omega is thrown out. The Young Bucks hit BTE trigger, but Jericho breaks out.

Jericho starts to fight back with punches before hitting a superkick. Jericho now hits a lowblow on Nick. Omega tags in. He has Jericho and Nick on opposite sides and need to choose side. He signals towards with Jericho but hits Nick with V-Trigger. He goes for One Winged Angel but Nick counters. Nick hits One Winged Angel but Omega kicks out. Jericho stops Meltzer Driver on Omega. Omega sets up V Trigger but gets cut off by Matt. Jericho hits Matt with Judas effect. Nick hits superkicks on Jericho. Omega drops Nick with One Winged Angel to get the pinfall.

After the match, The Bucks refuse to shake hands with Omega. They continue to throw tantrums for a while.

Adam Cole MJF(c) vs Jay White – AEW World Championship

Jay White comes out to the ring for the match. Adam Cole comes out for the match with his crutches. He stands in the corner. White wants to have a go, but the referee tells him to be in the middle. We hear an ambulance siren and see MJF driving it. MJF gets off the ambulance and hobbles his way out. His music hits and he gets into the ring to start the match.

MJF hits punches but he is hurt. White hits him with a chop block to hurt his knee more. White throws MJF to the floor to feed him to the Gunns again while he diverts the referee’s attention. White brings him back and hits more punches. He throws MJF back out for The Gunns to beat him again some more. They try to use a chair to hurt MJF but the referee catches them and boots them from the ringside.

White brings MJF into the ring to continue the beatdown. MJF starts to hulk up and fight back. He slams White’s face into the turnbuckle several times. He bites off White’s face after several punches. He signals for the kangaroo kick and manages to hit it. White is knocked to the floor with that move. MJF gets ready for a dive but White comes in and hits a low dropkick on his leg.

White hits chops in the corner now. He goes for a whip across the ring but MJF goes down as his leg gives up. White charges at him but MJF sends him up in the air and catches him with a mule kick. He goes for a double stomp from the second ropes but White gets out of the way. White hits an Urinage to get a near fall.

White throws MJF out of the ring with back body drop. MJF rakes at his eyes and hits a DDT on the floor. He clears the announce table and it breaks down as soon as White is put over it. MJF gets to the top rope and hits an elbow drop. Adam Cole is worried about MJF now. The referee starts to count down after a minute or so. Both men get into the ring. White hits a dragon screw leg on MJF’s leg on the ropes. White puts MJF in a tree of woe. MJF hits him with a superplex as White is working on his knee on the top rope. White then hits an avalanche Urinage, but MJF kicks out at two-count.

White hits chops now. White hits a rolling elbow when MJF gets up. He hits a release German suplex next. White gets ready for Blade Runner but MJF counters with a roll up. White also counters to get a two-count. MJF hits a piledriver. Both men are down. The referee starts a countdown. White charges at MJF in the corner when they get up. MJF hits a back elbow and double stomp on the arm. White blocks heatsinker. MJF then jumps over the top rope and hits a cutter on the floor.

They both make it back to the ring before the referee’s countdown. The referee wants the doctor to check on MJF, but he refuses to leave the match. White hits him with dragon screw legs. He puts on a figure four leg lock. Cole is holding a towel. White puts pressure on the lock. Eyes are on Cole if he throws in the towel. MJF screams at him not to. MJF drags himself towards the ropes but White drags him back in. MJF then reverses it around. White is also in pain now. White manages to get to the ropes.

Cole tries to hit White with the ROH tag title belt but White snatches it from him and hits MJF with it. White goes for the cover but MJF kicks out somehow. MJF kicks White away which drives him into the referee. MJF goes to get the dynamite diamond ring. White drags him back and hits a kick at his knee. White then picks up the ring. MJF hits him with a low blow. He picks the ring. The Gunns run into the ring. MJF hits him with loaded punches. White goes for Blade Runner but MJF hits him with the loaded punch. The referee wakes up conveniently and counts the pinfall.

MJF gets BBB back after a month. Cole gets into the ring and raises the title with MJF. MJF and Cole get to the stage and stand tall to close the show.
