AEW Dynamite Results July 6, 2022, Live Updates
AEW Dynamite episode of July 6, 2022, is all set to feature the Interim AEW World title & TNT championship matches. The event will air live from the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY.
Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will make his first defense against the Battle Royal winner Brody King. Wardlow will finally get a rematch against Scorpio Sky for the TNT title. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland will face The Butcher & The Blade whereas AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa will join forces with Toni Storm to take on the team of Marina Shafir & Nyla Rose. Christian Cage and Luchasaurus will be appearing live.

Live Updates
Scorpio Sky(c) vs Wardlow – Street Fight for AEW TNT Championship
Wardlow starts with a big takedown. Sky hits a low blow. Wardlow hits a belly-to-belly suplex and then throws Sky across the ring a few times. Sky rolls to the floor. Dan Lambert and ATT distract Wardlow, and Sky throws him into the steel steps. Others from ATT stomp on Wardlow until Sky separate them to take us to a break.
They both go to the top rope as we return. Wardlow drops Sky back to the mat and hits a Swanton Bomb. Wardlow was starting powerbomb symphony but ATT members swarm the ring. Wardlow deals with them one by one and throw them easily. Sky runs Wardlow over the title belt, but Wardlow kicks out of the pin. Wardlow lands on his feet to counter TKO and pushes Sky into Lambert on the apron.
Wardlow removes his sling and goes on to hit his first powerbomb on this match. Two more powerbombs from Wardlow get him the pin.
Winner – Wardlow
Wardlow gets the title and goes to celebrate.
Jon Moxley gets a pre-recorded promo and says everyone underestimates what kind of monster he is. He reminds everyone that he took down one wrestler that he respected the most just 10 days back.
Mark Sterling and Tony Nese are backstage with Keith Lee and try to get him to sign a petition to get Swerve Strickland removed from the roster for being a snake and backstabber. Lee tells them that Swerve is still his tag team partner and they are still winning.
Christian & Luchasauru Live!
Christian Cage and Luchasaurus are out to the ring. Christian takes the mic and says he is in a cage despite Blood and Guts being over. Before he could talk much, Matt Hardy comes out to the stage. Matt calls Christian Michael Jordan of a**holes. He says Jungle Boy did not deserve what he did with him. Christian asks him if he knows Jungle Boy more than him or Luchasaurus, and if he thinks so, Jeff Hardy is soberer than Matt. Big boos from the crowd over this line.
Matt talks about doing the same thing with Private Party and wants to make sure nobody takes advantage of someone else like Luchasaurus. Christian calls him a clout chaser and accused Matt of using Jeff despite Jeff having his issues. Some more trash talk from Christian until it came down to fighting. Luchasaurus hits Matt with a headbutt. Matt tries to fight back but Luchasaurus drops him through a table.
Claudio Castagnoli and Jake Hager are backstage. Hager says he is not stronger than he is, brings up being being a former World Champion, and undefeated MMA fighter. Claudio talks about how he defeated Zack Sabre Jr. in his first match and assures that it will be 3-0 for him next week.
The Butcher & The Blade vs Keith Lee & Shane “Swerve” Strickland
Lee starts against Blade. Lee drops Blade with a headbutt. Butcher comes in right away. Lee throws him away from the second rope. Butcher wants to bring in a steel chair but Blade stops him. Swerve tags in and puts on a side headlock. Leapfrogs and running the ropes until Swerve botches a leapfrog. Lee tags in and drops Blade with a shoulder tackle.
Swerve tags back as Lee hits him with double chest chops. Blade goes to the outside. Swerve goes for a penalty kick but Bunny gets in between them. Butcher gets low bridged when he charges at Swerve on the apron. Blade trips Swerve on the apron to take us to a break.
Swerve bites Butcher’s hand as they were on the top. Swerve pushes Butcher to the floor and jumps down with an uppercut. Lee tags in and hits shoulder tackles on both opponents. He stops Butcher and throws Blade into him. Swerve tags in and hits a flatliner on Butcher. Swerve and Lee hit a double-team combo on Butcher.
Lee ends up hitting a big tackle on Swerve by mistake. Blade hits a stunner on Lee to drop him to the floor. Butcher and Blade hit combination moves in quick succession. Butcher hits a big boot but Lee breaks his pin. Swerve hits a running heel kick to Blade. Butcher is thrown to the floor. Lee holds Blade on his shoulders and Swerve hits a diving foot stomp to get the pin.
Winners – Keith Lee & Shane “Swerve” Strickland
After the match, Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks come out to the ramp. They say they won’t be disrespected by Lee and Swerve like this as they are the best tag team here. The Young Bucks come in and tell the other two teams that they are good, but they could not get the done against Jurassic Express at Double or Nothing, while they did the same a few weeks later. They propose a triple threat tag team match next week.
Eddie Kingston congratulates Wardlow on his title win. He also congratulates all of his teammates, even Claudio. Eddie says Chris Jericho did not bleed and he did not get a taste of his blood. Chris Jericho appears on the big screen and we cut to him backstage. Tay Conti slams Ruby Soho’s arm into a car door as others from JAS hold her. JAS runs away as the AEW crew comes in to check on Ruby.
Dark Order come out with the Negative One. Silver takes the mic and says Rochester is Dark Order Country. Evil Uno has an announcement that six of them are here to stay and are starting new. QT Marshall comes out and takes shots at Negative One. Marshall says Brodie Lee was a legend who beat him in five minutes. Marshall continues to talk trash until Hangman Adam Page comes out to attack him. Hangman and Uno take QT to the ring where Dark Order beat him up. Negative One says he can pin QT right now, but deciding not to.
Rush vs Penta Oscuro
They hit chest slaps at each other to start the match. Penta counters a suplex with a roll-up. Penta sends Rush to the floor and brings him down there after a bit of back of forth. He hits a DDT on the floor. Rush runs him over and takes the action back into the ring. Rush hits clotheslines and a dropkick. Rush tries to remove Penta’s mask but Penta comes back with sling blades on him. Penta hits a suicide dive on the floor. Jose and Alex Abrehantes start a brawl. Fenix and Andrade watch on as we cut to a break.
Penta and Rush are trading shots. Rush hits a German suplex. Penta hits a backstabber. Rush hits a powerslam for a two-count. Penta hits another backstabber to get a two-count. Penta stomps in the corner. They trade more open hand slaps, headbutts, and a lot more. Rush ends up dropping Penta with a high knee after they run the ropes.
Rush hits a missile dropkick to get a close two-count. Rush goes to the top and hits a senton. Penta comes back with a sling blade, but he was late for a cover. Rey and Andrade argue on the floor and Rush hits a low blow in the ring. He gets the pin.

We get a quick promo from Jay Lethal and the team for his match against Samoa Joe at ROH Death Before Dishonor.
Mark Sterling and Tony Nese have gone to Best Friends for their signatures on a petition to remove Shane Strickland from the roster. Orange Cassidy says his lawyer will see the petition first. Danhausen is Cassidy’s Lawyer. Nese says he will make Cassidy sign this, which leads to Danhausen setting up a match between Orange and Nese on Rampage.
The Gunn Club (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) & The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) vs Bear Country (Bear Boulder & Bear Bronson), Fuego del Sol & Leon Ruffin
The infighting is clear between The Gunn Club and the Acclaimed. Fuego Del Sol starts against Austin and gets dropped. Colten comes in to hit a big clothesline. Bowens tags himself in to work on Fuego. Bowens knocks off other opponents of the apron. Fuego hits him with a DDT and tags in Bear Bronson. Bronson deals with all opponents with big tackles and clotheslines them to the floor. A powerbomb on Austin for a near fall. Bowens tags in and hits superkick and Thesz Press on Bronson. Acclaimed hits the Mic drop but it is Austin who tags in and gets the pin.
Winner – The Gunn Club & The Acclaimed
The Acclaimed and The Gunn Boys start to argue. Austin and Colten start to beat up the Acclaimed but Billy Gunn pulls them away. Billy then turns and drops Max Caster with a clothesline. He hits Bowens with a fameasser.
Miro gets a video package talking about Malakai Black. Miro says while Black prey on the weak, he destroys them. He warns that when he is done with House of Black, they will have a lot of eyes to cover.
Thunderstorm(Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm) vs Nyla Rose & Marina Shafir
Shafir and Nyla attack early. Nyla takes Rosa to the floor. Storm comes back with a drop toe hold and a dropkick. Quick tags between Thunderstorm to keep Shafir under control. Nyla is knocked of the apron before Rosa hits a dropkick in the corner. A suplex from Toni as she returns. Her face is rammed to the floor by Toni. Hip attacks, snapmares, and more attack on Shafir as she is kept in the opposite corner.
Shafir nails calf kicks to come back to the match. Rosa is knocked off. The referee gets busy in stopping her from entering the match. Nyla slams an umbrella on Storm’s back and Shafir drops her to the mat. We cut to a break.
Rosa is nailing chops as we return from the break. Rosa knocks off Shafir with an hip attack. She goes on to trip Nyla to the ropes. Rosa nails a couple of dropkicks. Nyla hits an Urinage and tags in Shafir. Shafir hits a pumphandle throw and Storm breaks the pin. Storm hits a DDT on Rose and follows up with a German suplex on Shafir. She follows up with a hip attack in the corner. They hit Thunderstorm Finisher to get the pin.
Winners – Thunderstorm(Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm)
Tony Schiavone is backstage with Jade Cargill, Keira Hogan and Stokely Hathaway. Hathaway reveals that he has brought in Leila Gray as an interim Baddie. Cargill warns him that he will also be cut if Gray fails.
Daniel Garcia will be facing Wheeler Yuta for ROH Pure title at Death Before Dishonor. He cuts a promo backstage talking about Yuta putting a foot on his neck, but he is not scared and wants to win the title at Death Before Dishonor.
FTR cut a promo after the break and says if ROH wants to sell PPVs, they should book Briscoes vs. FTR II at Death Before Dishonor.
Jon Moxley(c) vs Brody King – Interim AEW World Championship Match
They get in each other’s faces. Brody pushes Moxley to the corner and hits a big chop. Mox is down clutching his chest but gets up quickly. Mox hits forearm shots but Brody staggers him with a big forearm. Big chops from Mox when they get to the floor. Brody throws Moxley around on the floor. Brody crashes into the steel steps as Mox sidesteps. Moxley sends him into the barricade with a Russian Leg Sweep. Brody hits a back body drop on the floor.
Brody sends Mox into the timekeeper’s area and slams him to the barricade. Back to the ring, Mox trips Brody with a low dropkick and then hits a dragon screw leg. He puts on a figure four leg lock briefly. A single-leg takedown from Moxley follows. Mox continues to work on the leg. Brody starts to fight back with shots. He hits Bossman slam to take us to a break.
Mox hits elbows to stop a move as we return. Brody misses a cannonball in the corner. Mox puts him on the top and hits big chops. He rakes Brody’s back before hitting a superplex. Mox then hits a Dragon Suplex after countering another move. Mox stomps on Brody’s face for a while. They start to trade forearm. Brody drops Mox with a big lariat and follows with a piledriver to get a close two-count. Brody puts on a sleeper.
Mox slams his back to the turnbuckle. Brody keeps the hold on and pulls him up from the top. Brody nails Mox with a cannonball in the corner. Mox escapes the Fire Thunder Driver and gets a roll-up for two-count. Moxley hits the Paradigm shift. He nails his elbow on the neck and puts on Bulldog choke to get put Brody to sleep.

Jon Moxley vs Brody King: On the July 1 edition of Rampage, Brody King became the no. 1 contender for the Interim AEW World title by winning the Royal Rampage. Later, AEW announced that Brody King would get his title shot at the upcoming episode of Dynamite.
Scorpio Sky vs Wardlow: Wardlow has been asking for a rematch against Scorpio Sky since MJF ruined his last TNT title shot. Last week on Blood & Guts, it was confirmed that Wardlow would face Scorpio Sky for the TNT title in a street fight on this week’s Dynamite.
Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland vs The Butcher & The Blade: Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland will try and keep their winning momentum going when they face The Butcher & The Blade in a tag-team match.
