AEW Dynamite episode of January 3, 2024, started 2024 programming for the company where they dealt with the fallout from Worlds End PPV.

Adam Cole revealed his intentions behind becoming the Devil. Orange Cassidy vs Dante Martin was the first match for International Championship. Swerve Strickland and Mariah May were in singles action. We also heard from AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. Check below for the complete results from AEW Dynamite January 3, 2024.

RESULTS


Adam Cole came out with Wardlow, Mike Bennett, Matt Taven and Roderick Strong. The group’s name was revealed to be The Undisputed Kingdom. Cole said MJF was just using him until he needed him and would have turned on him. He said that Strong would go after AEW International title while Wardlow would go for World title and would forfeit it to him when the time would come.

Jay White interrupted him and asked why he was collateral damage in his quest. The Gunns and White attacked The Undisputed Kingdom. When they were outnumbered, The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn also attacked The Undisputed Kingdom to force them to run away.

We saw Eddie Kingston’s journey in Continental Classic.

Orange Cassidy defeated Dante Martin to retain AEW International Championship.

After the match, Darius Martin, Action Andretti, Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero came out. Mark Quen made his return to reintroduce Private Party and revealed their intentions to go after AEW Tag Team Championship.

Swerve Strickland was interviewed backstage and called out Samoa Joe for World title.

Mariah May defeated Queen Aminata via pinfall after hitting a slingblade and May Day. This was May’s AEW in-ring debut.

After the match, May said only disappointment for her tonight was that her debut came in New Jersey. Deonna Purrazzo came out to make his AEW debut. She told May to send a message to Toni Storm and when May said she was not a messenger, they got to fight where Purrazzo quickly took May down.

Christian Cage came out with Nick Wayne, Shayna Wayne and Killswitch where he thanked both the Wayne’s for their help against Adam Copeland at Worlds End. He did not acknowledge Killshot handing him the title contract. Christian also said their would be no more rematches for Copeland.

Konosuke Takeshita defeated Darby Allin in a singles match. One of the highlights of the match was a rolling German suplex on the ramp from Takeshita. Darby hit stunner from the top rope on our return from a commercial break. Takeshita kicked out of a near fall after a Code Red. Takeshita hit an avalanche German suplex and running knee to get the pinfall after a hard-fought match.

After the break, Don Callis Family were backstage where Takeshita put out a challenge in Japanese. Callis then challenge Darby Allin and Sting for a match next week on Dynamite against Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Trent Beretta defeated Brian Cage, Bryan Keith and El Hijo Del Vikingo to become #1 Contender for AEW Continental Championship. Danhausen came into the ring to save Baretta from Cage in the final moments of the match. Vikingo and Keith send Cage to the floor. Vikingo hit a moonsault on Cage on the floor. Meanwhile, Baretta countered Keith in the ring to get the pinfall.

Renee Paquette was backstage with Matt Menard for an interview, but Hangman Adam Page interrupted to call out Samoa Joe citing how Joe got him taken out by The Devil’s Goons a few weeks back.

Swerve Strickland defeated Daniel Garcia in the main event. Garcia kicked out after a House Call and Swerve stomp and countered with a pin attempt. Swerve then hit the second House Call and JML Driver to get the win.

After the match, Matt Menard got into a fight with Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland. Once that was cleared, Hangman Adam Page came out to start brawling with Swerve. The security tried to keep them separated as the show came to close.
