AEW Dynamite episode of February 28, 2024 featured the return of Will Ospreay as well as Sting’s final Dynamite appearance. Blackpool Combat Club faced FTR and Eddie Kingston.

RESULTS & UPDATES


Hangman Page was out in the ring on a crutch. He says that he had to back out of the triple threat match at Revolution. Swerve Strickland interrupted him and said he didn’t expect this to happen before claiming that it’s his destiny to win the AEW World title. Samoa Joe comes out and says it doesn’t matter, he’s whipping both of their asses at Revolution. Swerve vows to win the gold. Hangman attacks him with his crutch. Hangman hasn’t been injured at all.

Blackpool Combat(Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli) defeated FTR(Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) & Eddie Kingston in a trios match. In the final minutes, everyone started hitting their finisher on each other. Danielson hit Kingston with a Busaika Knee before hitting him with more stomps and locked in a triangle sleeper to put him to sleep to get the stoppage win.

We got a vignette for Chris Jericho’s time in CMLL. Jericho got interviewed backstage where he talked about his history with Atlantis and his days in Mexico.

Will Ospreay came out to the ring. He talked about his history in AEW so far and would pick up where he left off. Don Callis, Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita came out to interrupt him. Callis hyped Ospreay vs Takeshita match at Revolution. Callis told them to shake hands, but they did not let go off their hands to show tension between them.

Eddie Kingston’s interview was interrupted by Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson. They took shots at him on the way he dresses and before warning him about getting fined if he would talk crap about them.

Orange Cassidy(c) defeated Nick Wayne to retain AEW International Championship. The match featured interruptions from The Kingdom’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett before Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta neutralized them. Wayne exposed a turnbuckle, but a distraction from Daniel Garcia led to Cassidy hitting Orange Punch on Wayne to get the pinfall.

Bang Bang Scissor Gang were interviewed about their group dynamics. Austin Gunn said he would be teaming up with The Acclaimed. Jay White approved the idea.

Skye Blue defeated Kris Statlander in a singles match. AEW TBS Women’s Champion Julia Hart tried to interrupt but Willow Nightingale attacked her. Blue hit Code Blue but Statlander kicked out. Stokeley Hathaway tried to get Statlander to use a steel chain, leading to the referee trying to get him off the apron. Hart hit Statlander with her title belt and Blue hits another Code Blue to get the pinfall.

The Young Bucks were looking for Sting and broke into his locker room, but no one was there other than some baseball bats.

“Lionheart” Chris Jericho defeated Atlantis Jr. in a singles match. Atlantis ducked Judas Effect and put Jericho in a swing. Jericho countered it into Walls of Jericho and Atlantis’ father threw in the towel.

The Young Bucks came out to the ring and wanted to confront Sting and Darby Allin. Darby was in the crowd wearing a Sting mask waiting for them. The Young Bucks beat up Darby with baseball bats when he came out to the ring. They brought out Ric Flair to help them, but Flair swerved and attacked the Young Bucks instead. The Young Bucks beat up Ric Flair after a low blow. Sting came out to make the save eventually. Darby hit a Coffin Drop on Matthew before Sting hit Nicholas with a Scorpion Death Drop.
