AEW Dark Youtube Series Announced by Cody Rhodes
AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes announced that a new Youtube series “AEW Dark” will begin this Tuesday which will feature dark matches that won’t air on AEW Dynamite.
AEW taped four dark matches before and after this week’s AEW Dynamite TV taping at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. The matches and their results are as below:
- Darby Allin defeated CIMA
- Lucha Brothers, Jack Evans, and Angelico defeated Private Party and Best Friends
- Britt Baker & Allie defeated Penelope Ford and Bea Priestley
- SCU defeated Jurrasic Express Luchasaurus, Marko Stunt, and Jungle Boy
These matches will telecast as part of this new series of AEW’s official YouTube channel and will be hosted by Tony Schiavone. You can check the tweet from Cody Rhodes below.
AEW Dynamite premiered on TNT in the USA this week on Wednesday. This week’s show featured the inaugural AEW Women’s Championship match which was won by Riho before the show was kicked off by a match between Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara.
On a more interesting note, Matt Jackson, another one of AEW Executive Vice Presidents, has confirmed that wins and losses in AEW Dark will also count towards championship opportunities and other decisions.
This rule is already been applied by AEW in booking the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament and even identifying Cody Rhodes as the first challenger for AEW World Champion Chris Jericho at AEW Full Gear 2019.
