UFC on ABC 4 Results Prelims & Main Card, Rozenstruik v Almeida
UFC returned to Charlotte, NC, with UFC on ABC 4 which featured two ranked heavyweights in Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Jailton Almeida in the headliner bout.
Almeida was unbeaten in his 4 bouts in UFC before this, but his winning streak went back to 13 bouts when he was still in the independent scene in Brazil. Probably the best wrestler in UFC Heavyweight division, he has wins over Danilo Marques, Parker Porter, Anton Turkalj and Shamil Abdurakhimov in UFC.
After starting with 4 wins in a row to start his UFC career, which included wins over the likes of Aleister Overeem and Andre Arlovski, Rozenstruik has gone 3-4 in 7 bouts after that. He remained in the top 15 in that time but had suffered losses against top contenders like Francis Ngannou, Curtis Blaydes and Ciryl Gane. Was he able to make it two wins in a row here?
Anthony Smith took on Johnny Walker in a key light heavyweight bout. Daniel Rodriguez was able to make weight in the second attempt to keep his bout against Ian Garry a welterweight contest.
