Modestas Bukauskas Replaced Mingyang Against Tyson Pedro at UFC 284
Modestas Bukauskas will return to the octagon after a long hiatus at UFC 284.
According to the latest reports, Modestas Bukauskas will replace Zhang Mingyang in a light heavyweight bout against Tyson Pedro at UFC 284 PPV event in Perth, Australia.
Iridium Sports Agency which manages Modestas Bukauskas broke this news on Twitter. However, the reason behind Zhang Mingyang’s withdrawal hasn’t been revealed yet.
Modestas Bukauskas lost three back-to-back matches in the UFC. His last UFC match took place in September 2021, where he lost against Khalil Rountree Jr via second-round TKO. After this, he went to Cage Warriors and won two consecutive matches. He is coming off a fourth-round KO victory against Chuck Campbell in December 2022.
On the other hand, Tyson Pedro is on a two-fight winning streak. He won both these matches via first-round finishes. Pedro defeated Ike Villanueva and Harry Hunsucker in his last two matches.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Modestas Bukauskas will be able to get his first UFC win in the last three years or will Tyson Pedro expand his winning streak.
UFC 284 is all set to take place on February 12, 2023, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. The event will be headlined by Islam Makhachev vs Alexander Volkanovski lightweight title bout.
