Lucas Almeida Out of UFC Paris 2023 Event Due to Injury
Lucas Almeida will not be competing in his scheduled bout against William Gomis, which was planned for September 2 at UFC Paris event.
Lucas Almeida announced via his Instagram story that he wouldn’t be facing Gomis due to injuries he’s currently dealing with. However, the specific nature of the injury has not been disclosed. Gomis and Almeida were scheduled for a featherweight bout.

Due to the withdrawal of Lucas Almeida from the fight, it is currently unclear whether William Gomis will withdraw from the card or if he will get another opponent for the fight.
Lucas Almeida has participated in two matches during his UFC career, securing one victory and facing one loss. His most recent fight was against Pat Sabatini at a UFC Vegas 75 event, where he suffered a loss via submission. Almeida’s win in the UFC came against Mike Trizano.
William Gomis is currently on a 10-fight winning streak, with two of those victories taking place within the UFC. In his most recent fight against Francis Marshall at UFC Vegas 71 event, Gomis emerged victorious through a split decision. He also secured a win against Jarno Errens in his UFC career.
UFC Paris event is scheduled for September 2, 2023, at Accor Arena in Paris, France. Recently, Muin Gafurov has also withdrawn from the event where he was set to face Taylor Lapilus.
