LFA returned with LFA 164 event on August 4, 2023, which was live from El Paso, TX.
The main event featured a vacant flyweight championship bout between Sabina Mazo vs Sandra Lavado. Mazo was unbeaten in 4 LFA bouts before this bout, but she was coming off 3 losses in UFC before being released. Lavado was coming off losses in PFL Contender Series and Dana White Contender Series.
