LFA Light Heavyweight Champion Bruno Lopes was set to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series later this year, and hence LFA introduced an interim champion. Rodolfo Bellato and Acacio Dos Santos battled for the interim title for a future title shot against Lopes if he returned to LFA later.
Bellato was unbeaten in LFA in 3 bouts. He appeared in DWCS last season but lost to Vitor Petrino and failed to get UFC contract. DWCS part was also true for Dos Santos who lost to Anton Turkalj in 2022 season. He made his LFA debut with this bout. A championship win would definitely get a look from UFC once again.
