KSW 84 event was set to take place on July 15, 2023, from Polsat Plus Arena in Gdynia, Poland, with a heavyweight title fight in the main event.

Phil De Fries looked to continue on his 11 fights winning streak in his ninth title defense. He was last active in February this year at KSW 79, where he beat Todd Duffee for the second time in his career. His opponent Szymon Bajor was returning to KSW for the first time since 2016 after stints in Rizin and a bout in PFL last year.

In the co-main event, Sebastian Przybysz and Islam Djabrailov clashed in a bantamweight bout. Djabrailov made his KSW debut. Przybysz, former champion, bounced back with a win in his last bout after losing his title. The action was set to start at 1 PM ET on KSW TV and Via Play.
