Olympic Gold Medalist and the Undisputed Boxing Champion Claressa Maria Shields have signed a new long-term deal with PFL MMA.

Both PFL and Claressa Shields jointly announced this news on Tuesday. Claressa signed her first contract with PFL back in November 2020.

Shields made her PFL debut with an impressive first-round TKO win against Brittney Elkin in June 2021. However, she lost her second and most recent match against Abigail Montes via split decision in October of the same year.

Even though Claressa Shields signed a three-year contract with PFL, she only made two appearances and both of them came in 2021.

PFL now locked in her for another multi-year deal and revealed the former Undisputed Boxing Champion would return to the octagon in 2024.

Claressa has a pretty tight schedule in boxing. She had her most recent match in June 2023 where she retained the Undisputed Female Middleweight Titles against Maricela Cornejo. She is still undefeated in boxing and would certainly like to keep this record in the future.

Are you excited to see Claressa Shields MMA return? Who do you think she will compete against in her returning match?
