He was the undisputed champion at the time, but had relinquished 3 titles after that bout and just held WBO Super Lightweight Championship going into this bout. His target with this fight was to be get his name clear from the controversy with a big win here.

Teofimo Lopez Jr. was trying to become a world champion once again in a new division. He lost his unified lightweight titles to George Kambosos at the end of 2021 and had since moved up to 140 lbs to get two wins. But, was he ready to take on a former undisputed champion?

The co-main event saw Xander Zayas taking on Ronald Cruz in super welterweight action. The prelims card saw some of the top rising prospects in action like Bruce Carrington, Omar Rosario, Damian Knyba, Jamaine Ortiz and Henry Lebron.
