Welcome to the live results blog for night 2 of WWE WrestleMania 40 event in Philadelphia, PA, on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will headline the third night of WrestleMania in a row as they battle over Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Rock and Roman Reigns beating Cody & Seth Rollins on night 1 means that this match will be a Bloodline Rules match. Seth Rollins himself will have to defend World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre.

Two more title matches are on the card with Iyo Sky defending WWE Women’s Championship against her former stablemate and mentor Bayley. A triple threat match will see United States Championship on the line with Logan Paul, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in action. LA Knight and AJ Styles will clash in a singles match.

The Pride((Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) will fight The Final Testament(Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar) in a Philadelphia Street Fight. Tune in below for the complete results from WWE WrestleMania 40 night 2 on April 7 with live updates and highlights.

LIVE UPDATES


We see several stars arriving to the stadium as the main show starts. A video package plays featuring Meek Mill. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre are shown backstage getting ready for their opening match. The War & Treaty sing “God Bless America” to get the show started.

Stephanie McMahon comes out after this. She talks about how special WrestleMania is, but WrestleMania 40 is the one she is most proud of as it’s the first WrestleMania of the “Paul Levesque” era.

Seth Rollins(c) vs Drew McIntyre – World Heavyweight Championship

Drew McIntyre comes out with a Bagpipers Band playing his theme. Seth Rollins is accompanied by the Philadelphia Mummers in his entrance. CM Punk is on the commentary as promised earlier. The announcements are done and the bell rings. McIntyre hits a Claymore kick right out of the gate, but Rollins is able to kick out. Rollins rolls to the floor to avoids another Claymore. McIntyre hits a chop block and a belly-to-belly suplex. McIntyre takes a selfie after taking the phone from a fan in the front row. He then goes to taunt CM Punk on the commentary. Rollins recovers in the meantime and hits McIntyre with a pedigree on the floor. Rollins gets into the ring. McIntyre beats the countdown but gets caught with the stomp for a near fall.

McIntyre counters a Pedigree, dropping Rollins on his back. McIntyre comes back with a series of strikes, battering and staggering Rollins. They trade strikes. McIntyre dazes both men with a big headbutt. McIntyre follows up with a neckbreaker. Rollins counters Claymore with a powerbomb. He hits a pedigree and the stomp in quick succession, but McIntyre kicks out again. Rollins goes for the super stomp but misses it. McIntyre also misses a Claymore before dodging another stomp himself. McIntyre hits a futureshock DDT to get a near fall.

McIntyre now signals towards CM Punk for GTS. Rollins counters GTS with an inside cradle for a near fall. McIntyre hits another Claymore kick and Rollins kicks out again. He clears the announce table after this and tries to powerbomb Rollins through it. Rollins rakes his face and hits some superkicks from the table. Rollins hits the stomp on top of the announce table. Rollins throws McIntyre into the ring where McIntyre quickly recovers and hits a Claymore kick, but Rollins kicks out again. McIntyre is frustrated, but he hits another Claymore kick to get the pinfall this time.

After the match, Drew McIntyre gets the title and poses with it. Rollins is watching him in tears from the ramp and signals like he is telling McIntyre to take care of his child. McIntyre then goes and sits in front of CM Punk on the announce table. He continues to mock Punk until Punk pulls his leg to trip him on the announce table. Punk removes the cast on his right hand to get more shots. Damian Priest’s music hits and he runs out to hit McIntyre with the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Drew McIntyre(c) vs Damian Priest – World Heavyweight Championship – Money in the Bank Cash-In

Priest cashes in MITB briefcase and the match is official as he throws McIntyre into the ring. Priest hits South of Heaven chokeslam on McIntyre to get the pinfall and the win.

Priest runs out to the ramp after taking the title and hugs the rest of the Judgment Day including Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.

The Pride(Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs The Final Testament(Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar) – Philadelphia Street Fight

Snoop Dogg is introduced as a guest commentator. Bubba Ray Dudley is introduced as the special referee. A brawl starts the match as there are no rules. The Final Testament has to retreat to the outside. The Street Profits set up a table but AOP runs them over. Final Testament get Kendo Sticks and beat up Lashley with them. Karrion Kross sets up a chair and hits a neckbreaker on Lashley on the chair to get a nearfall. AOP beat down Dawkins with sticks. Ford dives off the top rope only to get hit with a kendo stick mid-air. AOP hit Profits with stereo powerbombs. B-Fab comes in and hits Akam with a kendo stick to break the pin. Scarlett smashes B-Fab with a trash can before throwing her out of the ring.

AOP go for the stereo powerbombs again but Lashley stops them this time. Profits fight back against AOP. Lashley gets his hands on Kross and starts beating him up. AOP are thrown outside. Ford hits a dive on them. Lashley beats Kross with a chair. Lashley hits a Urinage on the chair. Lashley goes for the Hurt Lock. Scarlett intervenes by hitting Lashley with a kendo stick. B-Fab hits a Pump Kick on Scarlett before putting her through a table on the floor with a Russian Leg Sweep on the apron. Karrion Kross hits Lashley with a Saito Suplex. He then hits a DDT on the chair for a nearfall.

Kross argues with Bubba Ray over the count. Bubba puts his glasses on to a huge pop from the crowd. Lashley hits a spears on Kross. Ford hits the Wazzup Headbutt on Kross. Bubba tells The Pride to get the tables. Ford and Dawkins set up a table. They put Kross on the table, but it breaks immediately. Profits set up get another table quickly. Ford hits several kendo stick strikes on Kross before hitting a Frog Splash through the table. Lashley covers Kross to get the pinfall.

We cut to a video package for the recap of the main event from night 1.

LA Knight vs AJ Styles

We get an ad for Slim Jim featuring LA Knight before he makes his entrance in the Slim Jim Car. He gives the keys of the car to a fan in the front row. They start with shots at each other. Styles hits chops on the ropes. Knight sends him to the outside and hit him with a baseball slide. He slams AJ’s face on the announce table several times. Knight throws AJ back into the ring. AJ pulls his leg to trip him. He starts to work on Knight’s leg. Knight kicks him on the face but AJ attacks the leg again.

Knight hits a couple of clotheslines before hitting a Russian Leg Sweep. He hits stomps in the corner before a springboard tornado DDT to get a near fall. AJ slips out off the top rope to avoid a superplex. He hits a suplex next to get a two-count. Knight catches up with AJ on the top rope and hits shots on his chest. AJ rakes his eyes to drop him back to the mat. Knight gets up quickly and hits an avalanche German suplex for a near fall.

AJ counters with a Calf Crusher. They are in the middle of the ring. Knight is having problems to break it, but drags on to make it to the ropes. AJ slams his knee into the ring post before hitting a dropkick on it against the post. Knight pulls AJ’s face into the post when AJ looks to slam his knee again. Knight pulls off the protective padding on the floor. AJ counters and hits a back body drop on the exposed floor. AJ gets into the ring and ask the referee to start the countdown. Knight beats the countdown.

Knight gets his knees up as AJ goes for a 450-splash. They trade strikes in the ring. AJ hits a Pele kick. Knight ducks the Phenomenal Forearm and then kicks AJ off to avoid The Styles Clash. He trips AJ on the ropes when AJ goes for the Phenomenal Forearm again. Knight hits BFT to get the pinfall.

We see a recap of WWE Hall of Fame 2024 Induction Ceremony. The Class of 2024 is then introduced as they come out to the stage.

Logan Paul(c) vs Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens – Triple Threat match for WWE United States Championship

Logan Paul comes out on a prime truck. Kevin Owens meets Sami Zayn backstage before he makes his entrance. Sami tells him that it’s him time now. KO drives a golf cart in his entrance. He drives it back up to give Orton a lift during his entrance. Logan goes to the outside as the bell rings. KO and Orton follow him out and pull him back when he tries to run into the ring. They pinball him with punches, slams his face on the apron and then onto the announce table. Orton hits a side slam on Logan onto the announce table. Owens takes Logan back to the ring and goes for a side slam, but Logan slips out and pushes Owens into Orton.

Logan tries to create a wedge between them but they continue to work together. Some more beatdown of Logan from KO and Orton, especially his leg. They both go for the cover at the same time when they realize only one of them can win. Orton offers KO to take Logan but then goes for RKO, only for KO to avoid it. They start a slugfest. Logan hits them with buckshot lariat at the same time. Logan has put them in opposite corners. He punches KO before hitting a splash on Orton. KO hits a superkick to send Logan into Orton in the corner before he hit a cannonball on both of them. Logan gets his knees up on a Swanton bomb from KO.

Logan hits a Swanton bomb on KO and a frog splash on Orton in one motion. Orton and Logan trade uppercuts where Logan gets better of Orton. Logan soaks in the boos from the crowd, but this gives Orton a chance to rake his eyes. Logan escapes to the floor. Orton and KO fight now. Orton hits a snap powerslam. Logan hits a punch on him when he was looking for a draping DDT. Orton decks him and hits a double DDT on Owens and Logan. KO blocks an RKO before hitting Codebreaker on Orton while dropping on Logan for a senton at the same time.

They fight in one of the corners. Orton is sent out. KO hits Logan with an avalanche powerslam. Orton comes in and hits RKO on KO to get a near fall. Orton rues the moment. Logan comes in with brass knuckles but Orton ducks his punch. Orton tries to remove the knuckles, but Logan then decks him with a punch with knuckles. Orton also kicks out of the pinfall. Logan hits KO also with a punch with knuckles when he gets to the apron. Orton catches Logan with an RKO but is not able to cover him. Orton recovers and picks up the knuckles. He hands the knuckles to the referee.

Orton gets ready for the punt kick but the Prime Mascot pulls Logan out of the ring. Streamer “I Show Speed” is under the prime mascot costume. Orton kicks him away. He clears the announce table and undresses him before hitting him with RKO on the table. Logan sends Orton into the ring post and quickly throws him into the ring. Logan misses his move. KO gets into the ring to hit a pop-up powerbomb on Logan and a Stunner on Orton. KO covers Orton but he kicks out. KO attempts a pop-up powerbomb on Orton but he turns it into RKO. Logan throws Orton into the post and out of the ring. He hits a frog splash on KO to get the pinfall.

Iyo Sky(c) vs Bayley – WWE Women’s Championship

Bayley gets a Pharoh-style entrance. Iyo Sky has the rest of Damage CTRL dancing behind her during her entrance. Damage CTRL go back from the stage itself and Iyo walks down the ramp alone. Bayley gets a takedown to start. Iyo slips to the floor to regroup. She returns and decks Bayley who also slips to the floor to regroup. They lock up and fall to the floor. Bayley throws her punches but Iyo decks her hard. Back to the ring, Bayley ducks a move before eating a dropkick. Bayley hits a cutter on the ropes before hitting a suicide dive on the outside.

Bayley hits a baseball slide after this. Bayley is limping a bit and Iyo takes advantage by tripping her. Iyo slams the leg into the ring post as she starts to work on the leg. Bayley hits a boot from the corner before Iyo wraps one of her legs on the ropes while she hits a dragon screw on the other one. Iyo hits a sunset flip into a stomp to get a two-count. Bayley rolls to the floor. She trips Iyo on the apron before throwing her into the timekeeper’s area. Iyo jumps on her but Bayley turns it into a powerslam on the floor.

Bayley hits a running kick to Iyo’s face as they return to the ring. Bayley hits a spin-out side slam to get a two-count. She gets to the top rope but gets decked by Iyo to trip on her leg. Iyo hits a dropkick on the top rope to send Bayley to the floor. She follows up with a moonsault on the floor from the top rope. She hits a springboard missile dropkick next to get a two-count. Iyo is getting a bit frustrated. Standing switches from both women before Bayley drives Iyo into the turnbuckle with a sunset flip.

Bayley goes for a small package for a near fall. Bayley still seems to be having trouble with her leg. Iyo hits bridging German suplex before rolling through and hit another one of those for a near fall. Iyo goes for a moonsault from the top but Bayley gets her knees up. The same knee which is already injured. Bayley goes to the top now, but misses elbow drop. Iyo quickly puts her in a crossface. Bayley rolls over into a pinning predicament. Bayley hits a running strike to the back. Iyo puts her into a crossface again. Bayley breaks free after some effort.

Bayley hits Bayley-to-belly suplex to get a near fall. Iyo blocks the roseplant and hits a big right to drop Bayley. Bayley gets back to her feet to hit a big right herself. Iyo drops Bayley again with a punch. They trade more shots before Iyo hits a backbreaker on her knee. Iyo hits moonsault from the top, but Bayley kicks out. Iyo hits a standing moonsault and one from the second rope, but misses the one from the top rope. Iyo counters Roseplant with slam to the face. Bayley runs her over with a lariat. Bayley hits a back suplex and an eblow drop from the top rope. Bayley hits the Roseplant to get the pinfall.

Snoop Dog is in the ring with Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders. Snoop announces the attendance for night 2 to be around 72,700. The combined attendance for night 1 and 2 is 145,298.

Roman Reigns(c) vs Cody Rhodes – Bloodline Rules Match for Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

Cody makes his entrance with Codyvator. He has skull mask on. Brandi Rhodes joins her at the stage. Cody removes the mask and they embrace. Brandi gives him some motivation before he walks down the ramp. He meets his family in the front row before getting into the ring. School District of Philadelphia All City Orchestra performs a modified version of Roman Reigns’ theme. He walks out with Paul Heyman only as he breaks the record for the most WrestleMania events at 9. Samantha Irvin makes the announcement and off we go. Lots of “Cody” chants as the duo face-off.

Cody goes for a single leg but Roman holds his ground as he gets to a corner. Cody slips into a waistlock. Roman hits a back elbow to break it. He hits a running shoulder tackle next. Roman plays to the crowd as they get behind Cody more and more. They lock up, transition to the side headlock from Roman, Cody ducks under coming off the ropes and hits a punch. He throws Roman into the ring post and out of the ring. Cody brings out a table but Roman catches him with a drive-by dropkick as he puts the table in the ring.

Cody reverses the whip to send Roman into the steel steps. He takes Roman back into the ring, but he slips out. Roman hits him with a kendo stick as Cody tries to pull him back. Several stick shots from Roman on Cody’s back. Cody ducks a shots and snatches it away. He misses his shot but quickly follows it with a bulldog. Cody puts on a figure four leg lock. Roman rakes his eyes to break the submission. Roman hits several stomps on him. He slows down the pace as he hits several punches. Cody escapes to the floor. Roman dumps the Prime hydration station on Cody. They get into the crowd where Cody starts to trade punches.

Roman goes for a suplex on a table, but Cody reverses it with one of his own. Cody brings the action back into the ring. He goes for the disaster kick but Roman turns it into a powerbomb. Roman waits for Cody to get up before hitting a suplex to get just a one-count. Roman tells Cody that he is not running to Hollywood like the rest of them and this is his company. Roman toys around with Cody with kicks before hitting a side slam to get a two-count. He puts on a choke. Cody gets back to his feet but Roman hits him with a perfectplex to a bridge to get a two-count.

Roman batters Cody with his signature corner clotheslines. Cody hits a superkick on Roman as he comes off the ropes. They trade kicks and boots before dropping each other with a clothesline at the same time. Roman gets up first. Cody also gets up. They trade punches. Cody comes out better from that exchange and hits a snap powerslam. He hits a disaster kick next to get a close two-count. Roman counters the Cody Cutter with a Crossrhodes to get a near fall. Cody ducks a Superman punch and hits his signature jabs and bionic elbow. He looks at the heaven, but Roman has slipped to the floor during this time.

Cody clears the announce table. Roman hits him with a low blow. He hits a powerbomb to put Cody through the announce table. Roman hits a Superman punch in the ring, but Cody kicks out. Roman gets ready for the spear now. Cody counters it with a knee and hits Cody Cutter for a near fall. Roman blocks Crossrhodes with a knee. Cody counters Urinage and hits a spear for another near fall. Cody hits a Crossrhodes before Jimmy Uso hits him with a superkick. Roman hits a superman punch as Jimmy holds Cody.

Jey Uso’s music hits and he runs out. Jimmy meets him to brawl on the ramp. Jey takes him out with a spear off the stage. Cody rolls up Roman for a two-count. Roman catches Cody with a spear, but Cody kicks out of the pinfall. Roman is frustrated now. He picks up Cody to put on guillotine choke. Cody drives him into the corner, but Roman holds onto the choke. Cody drives both of them to the floor to break the choke. Cody then hits a spear on Roman through the barricade. Cody drags Roman into the ring. He stalks Roman for Crossrhodes and hits it. He goes for the second one. Solo Sikoa hits Cody with the Samoan Spike.

Solo drags Roman on top of Cody and walks to the corner. Cody kicks out of the pin. Solo stares down at Cody and gets mad. Solo hits several punches on Cody. Solo holds on Cody and asks Roman to finish the story. Roman and Solo hit Cody with samoan spike and spear combo. Cody still kicks out. John Cena’s music hits and he runs out. He unloads on Solo with punches before tackling him out of the ring. Cena hits Roman with Attitude Adjustment. Cena then hits Solo with Attitude Adjustment on the announce table.

The Rock’s music hit and he walks down the ramp. Cena stares him down and gets into the ring. They face-off in the ring for a full minute. Rock ducks Cena’s swing and hits Rockbottom. Rock pulls out the weight belt. The Shield’s music hit. Rock is waiting for someone to come out. Roman suddenly gets into the ring and stops Seth Rollins with a Superman punch. Rock is throwing F-bombs and abuses like crazy now.

Rock gets ready to hit Cody with the weight belt again. The lights go out and the Gong hits. The light come out and The Undertaker is behind Rock. The Undertaker hits a chokeslam on Rock. The lights go off again and the Undertaker is gone when they return.

Roman, Cody and Seth are in the ring. Roman gets his hands on the steel chair. Cody gets up. Seth also gets up. Roman looks at Seth who has his back towards him. Roman slams Seth with the steel chair to the back just like Seth hit Roman back in 2014. Roman signals for the spear. Cody blocks it with a knee again. Cody then hits a trio of Crossrhodes to get the pinfall.

Samantha Irvin is all choked up as she announces Cody as the new Undisputed Universal Champion. Brandi Rhodes comes into the ring to hug him before Cody poses with the title.

John Cena, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, LA Knight and Randy Orton get into the ring to celebrate with Cody. CM Punk also comes in and raises Cody’s hands. Cody’s family gets into the ring. Cody hands his mother with the title belt. Cody asks for the mic. He says he would have never come back to WWE if not for two people. He ask Bruce Pritchard to come out, and also Paul “Triple H” Levesque despite his opposition. Pritchard and Triple H come out and hug Cody. Seth Rollins has also made his way into the ring by this time.

All the stars in the ring picks up Cody. Cody then leaves the ring and shakes hands with the commentary team. The hugs and embraces continue further. Cody then shakes hands with Rollins after having some words with him. The ring is clear now. Cody poses one final time as the pyro goes off. Cody gets out of the ring and hugs several from the crew. He also hugs Nick Khan who is in the front row. The show goes off as Cody sits on the ramp.
