WWE Unites States Title Match Set Inside Elimination Chamber
WWE has announced the first Elimination Chamber match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 event.
Byron Saxton previewed RAW episode of this week and announced that WWE United States States Championship will be defended inside the Elimination Chamber cage this year. This will be the first time that Unites States Championship will be defended inside Elimination Chamber.
Austin Theory holds the title currently and will be in the match by default. Theory won the title at Survivor Series 2022 event in a triple-threat match involving Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley. Theory has since defended the title successfully against both men in separate singles matches.
Three qualifier matches were also revealed for the show. Seth Rollins defeated Chad Gable in the first qualifying match. Johnny Gargano defeated Baron Corbin in the second qualifier. Bronson Reed beat Dolph Ziggler in the third qualifier matches this week on RAW.
Two more qualifier are set for next week on RAW for United States Championship Elimination Chamber match. Montez Ford will face Elias while Angelo Dawkins will face Damian Priest to complete the line up.
WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 will air from Bell Center in Montreal, Canada, on February 18, 2023. Sami Zayn is expected to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in his hometown.
