Welcome to the live results blog for WWE SummerSlam 2024 PLE which will be live from Cleveland, OH.

Cody Rhodes defends Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa. Rhea Ripley will try to regain Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will clash in a grudge match with Seth Rollins being the special guest referee.

Damian Priest has a challenge in front of him in the form of Gunther to defend his World Heavyweight Championship. Bayley will face Nia Jax to defend WWE Women’s title. Sami Zayn and Bron Breakker will clash in a rematch over Intercontinental Championship. LA Knight takes on Logan Paul over United States title.

RESULTS

  • Liv Morgan(c) defeated Rhea Ripley in a singles match via pinfall to retain Women’s World Championship.
  • Bron Breakker defeated Sami Zayn(c) in a singles match via pinfall to win WWE Intercontinental Championship.
  • LA Knight defeated Logan Paul(c) in a singles match via pinfall to win WWE United States Championship.
  • Nia Jax defeated Bayley(c) in a singles match via pinfall to win WWE Women’s Championship.

LIVE UPDATES

Liv Morgan(c) vs Rhea Ripley – Women’s World Championship

Rhea was trying to use a steel chair brought into the ring by Liv, but Dominik stopped her. As Rhea was shouting at Dominik, Liv hit her from behind, but Rhea kicked out. Dominik then distracted the referee to allow Liv to hit Oblivion on the chair to get the pinfall. (Complete match description to be be added later)

Liv and Dominik kissed after the match as Rhea looked on while recovering.


After the break, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest was looking for Dominik as he entered Judgment Day Clubhouse. He only found Finn Balor and asked him if he knew about Dominik’s intentions. Balor replied he didn’t.

Sami Zayn(c) vs Bron Breakker – WWE Intercontinental Championship

Breakker hit two spears back to back to get the pinfall and the US title. (Complete match description to be be added later)

Logan Paul(c) vs LA Knight – WWE United States Championship

Logan Paul makes his entrance with MGK. LA Knight comes out of Logan’s Prime Car and breaks it side glass. As Knight enters, an irate Logan attacks him on the apron itself. Logan beats him up on the floor until Knight sends him into the barricade. Knight drives him into the Prime Hydration station. Logan spits Prime on his face. Logan cleared the announce table where Knight slams his face several times. Knight hits a neckbreaker on the table which does not break. The referee finally asks them to get into the ring to get the bell ringing.

Knight takes Logan to the corner and hits some punches. Logan tries to counter but Knight hits an inverted atomic drop and a clothesline to get a two-count. Logan gets his knees up when Knight goes for an elbow drop. Logan sends Knight him into the ringpost to get control. He shuts down Knight’s punches before unleashing some of his own. He hits a clothesline and a split legged leg drop. They trade punches. Knight seems to be getting an upperhand but Logan hits a gutwrench suplex to get a two-count.

Logan hits a powerbomb to get another two-count. Knight comes back with a powerslam. He drives Logan to the corner before unleashing punches. Knight slams Logan into the corner aggresively before some stomps and a running knee against the turnbuckle. Logan swings and misses as Knight ducks to hit an Urinage. Knight hits an elbow drop from the top rope. Logan kicks out of a very close pinfall. Logan slips out of a powerslam and sends Knight to the apron. Logan hits a springboard punch to knock Knight off the floor.

Logan hits a springboard moonsault on the floor. Back to the ring, Logan looks for the loaded punch but Knight ducks and goes for BFT which also gets blocked. Logan hits the loaded punch in the second attempt, but Knight kicks out. Logan jumps off the top rope but rolls through when Knight avoids it. Logan grabs the ropes to block BFT. Logan gets to the top rope. Knight jumps to the top and hits a superplex, only to get a two-count.

Logan slips to the floor. He rakes Knight’s eyes when he tries to pull him back. Logan walks towards his entourage but Knight hits him with a baseball slide. Knight beats up Logan’s entourage. Logan attacks him from behind and throws him into the ring. MGK hands Logan brassknuckles. But, Knight blocks the punch from Logan and hits BFT to get the pinfall.

Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri featured in a “Manscaped” commercial.

Bayley(c) vs Nia Jax – WWE Women’s Championship

Bayley starts with quick punches and runs off the the ropes to get some momentum in her shots. Nia just lifts Bayley up and drops her. Nia throws her around before hitting a powerslam. Nia continues to beat her for a while before putting on a choke. Bayley comes out of it and hits a back suplex. Bayley runs off the ropes to tackle Nai. Nia misses a tackle and falls to the floor.

Nia hits a headbutt from the floor. She goes for a leg drop on the apron but Bayley dodges it. She jumps off the apron to take down Nia. Back to the ring, Nia hits a headbutt. Nia goes for a superplex but Bayley puts on a guillotine choke. Nia slams her to the mat after half a minute in the choke. Nia hits a senton. Nai misses a leg drop from the top rope. Nia hits an Annihilator, but Bayley kicks out.

Nia is shocked. She goes to stomp on Bayley before hitting some headbutts. She slams Bayley onto the mat a few times. Bayley goes for a suicide dive but Nia catches her and hits a Samoan Drop. Back to the ring, Nia goes the Annihilator again but Bayley gets her up off the turnbuckle to hit a powerbomb. Bayley follows up with an elbow drop from the top rope, but Nia kicks out.

Tiffany Stratton runs out with a referee and MITB briefcase. Bayley knocks her off the apron. Bayley dodges Nia in the corner and rolls up Nia to get a two-count. Nia comes back with a powerbomb. She hits another powerbomb before hitting two Annihilators to get the pinfall.

After Nia gets her title, Tiffany comes in the ring and hugs Nia. They celebrate together for a while in the ring. Nia goes to hug her family members in the front row.

Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk

Seth Rollins comes out first in a bedazzled shirt. Drew enters after him. Drew tells Rollins that he only has to get the bell ringing and count to three. Punk comes out at last. Rollins keeps them separated until the bell rings but has to run out of their way. Punk fires punches. Rollins stops him in the corner, but Drew gets advantage to attack Punk. Drew unleashes several punches before Rollins stops him. Punk takes advantage and runs at McIntyre.

Punk clotheslines McIntyre to the floor. He jumps off the apron with a clotheslines. Punk sends him into the timekeeper’s area before bringing him near the steel steps to slam his face several times. Rollins is letting them do everything and is not even counting down. Punk tries to get McIntyre into the ring but McIntyre trips him on the apron. He swings Punk into the announce table where Punk tries to protect his face with his arm. McIntyre catapults Punk’s sternum into the bottom of the ring before finally getting back into the ring.

Rollins eggs McIntyre after he gets a two-count after some punches. McIntyre hits a belly to belly suplex to get another two-count. Punk hits a couple of punches. He goes for a jumping knee but McIntyre counters it with a powerbomb to get a two-count. McIntyre hits another powerbomb to get another two-count. McIntyre looks dissappointed with Rollins for the count, but Rollins explains that it was fair. McIntyre goes out and brings a steel chair. He tells Rollins to just turn around and let it go on. Rollins takes the chair away.

McIntyre argues with Rollins which prompts Rollins to hit him with the chair. McIntyre ducks, and Rollins almost hits Punk. Punk recovers to fight against McIntyre. Rollins is busy in clearing the chair when Punk rolls up McIntyre. Rollins is late to counting for the pin. McIntyre hits a neckbreaker and stares down Rollins. McIntyre puts on Punk’s bracelet to egg him on. Punk starts to create momentum with quick moves. He hits jumping knee before putting in the Anaconda Vice. Punk then see his bracelet and takes it out of McIntyre’s hand.

As Punk goes to wear it, McIntyre hits him with Claymore kick. Punk kicks out of the pin. McIntyre goes for futureshock DDT, but Punk counters to get into the position for Go To Sleep when he suddenly sees that Rollins is wearing his bracelet. Punk goes to argue with Rollins. McIntyre drives Punk into Rollins. Rollins gets knocked down to the floor. Punk hits GTS on McIntyre but Rollins is on the floor. McIntyre kicks out of the pin by the time Rollins returns.

Punk goes to argue with Rollins now. Rollins tells him it is his ring, his rules and his company, and nobody needs him here. Punk hits Rollins with GTS. McIntyre hits Punk with a lowblow and Claymore kick. McIntyre covers Punk and shouts at Rollins. Rollins comes into the position slowly as he is woozy, but somehow counts to three for McIntyre to get the pinfall.

Backstage, Damian Priest apologizes to Finn Balor for being out of line earlier. Balor says he understands what Priest thought. Balor then tells Priest to just say if he has changed his mind about him being out in his corner tonight.

Damian Priest(c) vs Gunther – World Heavyweight Championship

Priest gets his shots going as the match starts. He hits a suplex after which Gunther rolls to the floor. Priest gets to the floor but Gunther drives him into the apron. Back to the ring, they trade forearms and chops. Quick back and forth before Gunther hits a hammerlock suplex to get a two-count. Gunther hits some chops.

Gunther gets to the top rope. Priest trips him on the floor. Gunther knocks him down from the apron. Gunther goes for a suplex but Priest hits back with Broken Arrow to get a two-count. Priest hitst some punches before Gunther hits back with his punches and chops. Priest hits a side kick to Gunther’s chest. Gunther batters him with some chops but Priest also hits forearms and chops. Priest hits a thrust kick. He misses a corner splash. Gunther hits a powerbomb to get a two-count.

Finn Balor comes out to motivate Priest as Gunther starts to batter Priest with more and more chops. Several more chops follow before Priest hits back with punches. Gunther drops him with a big boot. Gunther hits some kicks. He hits a kick to midsection. Gunther then kicks at Balor on the floor. Priest gets ticked seeing this. Gunther hits a boot but Priest drops him with a clothesline. Another clothesline before Priest hits Razor’s Edge. Priest hits another South of Heaven. Balor puts Gunther’s leg on the ropes to break the pin. Priest does not see this. He only gets to know about this when he sees the replay.

Balor turns around looking like at Priest in a menace look. Priest tries to go to the floor to meet Balor but Gunther pulls him into rear naked choke. Priest refuses to give up. He counters with pin attempt. But, he then goes to grab Balor through the ropes. Gunther pulls him back to hit a powerbomb and puts on the rear naked choke once again to put him to sleep.

Balor stares down Priest with a mischieving smile. Gunther gets the title and kisses his wife in the front row before going to pose on the announce table.


The host of SummerSlam, The Miz comes out with R-Truth. He announces the attendance for tonight to be 57,695. A-Town Down Under come out and start mocking them. They also mock Cleveland, Jolly Roll and MGK. R-Truth mistakes them for Rock & Roll Express. While the Miz tries to make him understand, Jolly Roll comes into the ring with a steel chair. Miz and R-Truth kick at A-Town Down Under to set up Jolly Roll for chair shots. Jolly Roll hits a chokeslam on Austin Theory before joining Miz and R-Truth into hitting a triple Five Knuckle shuffle.

Cody Rhodes(c) vs Solo Sikoa – Undisputed WWE Championship

Solo Sikoa comes out alone. We cut to Cody Rhodes in his bus. A camera follows him as he comes out. He gets his dog Pharoah and walks into the arena. He finds Arn Anderson who gives him a pep talk. Cody then walks towards the Gorilla position, but stops before it to get his jacket and helmet from a crew member. He hands Pharoah over to this crew member who hugs him. Cody then makes his entrance.

The crowd is fully behind Cody as the bell rings. A tie starts the action. Coey puts on a side headlock. Solo pushes him to the ropes and no-sells a shoulder tackle. Solo no-sells another tackle before dropping Cody with a tackle himself. Cody goes for his signature drop down punch but Solo grabs his hand. Solo hits a back elbow to block a German suplex. Cody falls to the corner but has to roll out as Solo looks for a hip attack.

Solo hits some smacking slaps and chops before throwing Cody to the ropes. Cody uses a low bridge to send Solo to the floor. He hits suicide dive next. Solo decks him on the ropes when Cody goes for another one. Solo slams the arm on the steel steps. Back to the ring, Cody hits some punches. Solo avoids the follow up and hits a spinning leg kick to drop him. He follows up with a Samoan Drop to get a two-count.

Solo hits another Samoan Drop to get another two-count. Solo wastes some time in posing which allow Cody to clothesline him to the floor. Cody then sends him into the Prime Hydration station on the floor. Back into the ring, Solo counters the Disaster kick with powerbomb. He corner Cody for some punches to set up the hip attack against the turnbuckle. Cody hits back with punches but Solo hits an Urinage to get a close two-count.

Solo sets up Cody in a Tree of Vow and hits him with diving headbutts twice. Cody gets out of the way on the third one. He jumps onto Solo from the top with a moonsault. He fires up to hit some punches but Solo catches him with belly to back suplex to get a two-count. Solo gets to the top. Cody meets him up. Solo drops him back with a headbutt but Cody jumps back up to hit a superplex. Both men are down for a while. As they get up, Cody hits several punches. Solo goes for Crossrhoades but Cody turns it around to hit Crossrhoades himself.

Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa attack Cody before he can go for the cover. They beat up Cody and drags Solo on top of him. Cody kicks out. Kevin Owens’ music hits and he runs out. KO superkicks Solo before unleashing punches on the Tonga Bros. They ultimately beat up KO but Randy Orton then runs out. He throws Tama into the barricade before hitting an RKO on Loa. KO hits a stunner on Tama. Randy hit a snap powerslam on Solo before KO hits him with a Swanton Bomb. Cody covers Solo but he kicks out. KO and Randy go to fight The Tonga brothers in the crowd.

Cody brings a steel step into the ring and smacks it on Solo’s face a couple of times. Cody goes for it the third time but Solo hits him with a spear. Cody kicks out of the pinfall. Solo sets up the steel step in the corner with Cody in front of him. Cody gets away from the hip attack and Solo crashes into it. Cody hits two Crossrhoades but Jacob Fatu runs in to hit a moonsault before he can hit the third one. Jacob hits a splash but Cody kicks out of the pinfall.

Jacob sets up Cody on the announce table and hits a splash through him. Solo brings Cody back into the ring and hits a splash himself. Cody still kicks out of the pin. Solo goes for the Samoan Spike but Cody drops to his knees. Roman Reigns’ music hits and he makes his return. Roman gets into the ring and loads the Superman Punch, but hits Solo with it. Roman hits Solo with a spear. He leaves the ring. Cody recovers as he is a bit perplexed. Cody hits Solo with Crossrhoades to get the pinfall.
