WWE SmackDown episode of July 5, 2024, will be live from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, a night before Money in the Bank PLE.

WWE Tag Team Championship match between A-Town Down Under and DIY is the highlight of the night. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair will take on Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae in a women’s tag team match. More build-up for Money in the Bank matches is expected.

MITB Showcase

Jey Uso opens the show by coming out to the ring and thanks Canada for letting him in. LA Knight comes out to interrupt him and gives him his respect but says he will be the one to win MITB match tomorrow. Their Yeet vs Yeah chant battle gets interrupted by Carmelo Hayes. Andrade quickly cuts off Carmelo and tells everyone that dreams can not be fulfilled, but aims can be achieved. Chad Gable then comes out and talks about the recent atrocities on him. Drew McIntyre comes out and responds to “CM Punk” chants by saying that he was not expecting this from Canada due to it being part of the Commonwealth. He says the violence inflicted upon the other competitors will be the same as it did on Punk. He goes on to take shots at each participant. Andrade attacks Drew from behind to start a brawl. Jey and Knight are the ones standing tall.


Jackie Redmond interviews WWE Women’s Champion Bayley to ask what it takes to win MITB match and then become the champion. Bayley gets interrupted by Chelsea Green who says she will be coming for her when she wins her MITB match. Bayley tells her to come and talk when she wins a match. Piper Niven shoves Bayley into the wall after a blindsided attack.

After the break, Naomi comes in to check on Bayley who tells her that she has to take care of Piper Niven tonight.

The Street Profits(Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs Pretty Deadly(Kit Wilson & Elton Prince)

Dawkins throws around Prince with ease to start the match. Ford does the same to Wilson when they tag in. Wilson counters with a knee in the corner but Ford quickly tags in Dawkins who continues his momentum. Prince hits a big boot to counter before Wilson drops Dawkins’ face on the ropes to take us to a break.

Prince cuts off Dawkins’ attempt to come back after the break with a big clothesline. Dawkins dodges him in the corner. Wilson tags in and Dawkins rains punches on him. They collide in the middle before Ford and Prince get the tags. Ford hits several shots on his back before taking down both members. He continues with an enzuigiri, a back suplex and standing moonsault on Prince. Prince stops his splash from the top rope.

Dawkins gets a blind tag as Pretty Deadly hit a super-duper-plex. Dawkins follows it up with a Swanton bomb on Wilson, but Prince broke the pin. Dawkins sends Wilson into Prince to send them both out. Ford hits a suicide dive on both opponents before feeding Wilson to Dawkins for a big spinebuster. Ford finishes things off with a splash on Wilson to get the pinfall. The Street Profits defeated Pretty Deadly in a tag team match.


Backstage, Austin Theory goes to Grayson Waller to make sure that they are on the same page. Waller snaps on him for letting Johnny Gargano in his head. He talks about how he won US title and tag team title after coming out from Gargano’s stable.


We get a recap of The Bloodline acknowledgement ceremony and them beating up Paul Heyman.

Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair vs Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell

Jade is in control against Indi and hits a superkick as we see the match already started upon return from a break. Indi counters in the corner to bring in Candice for some double team work to keep Jade cornered. Indi shuts her down with a big punch. Jade fires more punches but Indi pulls back to block a tag to Bianca. They hit each other with a big boot at the same time. Bianca comes in hot against Candice to hit her with dropkicks and suplex. She hits countdown punches before hitting a spinebuster on Indi.

Candice counters with a big boot but Bianca drops her on Indi quickly after this before hitting a handspring moonsault. Jade tags and Candice tries to steal a win with a roll-up. Jade responds with a pump kick before Jade hits Candice with the Jaded while Bianca hits a KOD on Indi in tandem. Jade pins Candice. Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair defeated Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell in a tag team match.

Bianca and Jade get interviewed in the ring after the match. They talk about getting the tag team titles back and calls it inevitable that they win them back.


Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes come out to the ring. Cody starts by saying that WWE and Toronto are good fit. He then says they are ready for a fight since The Bloodline asked for it. Randy says that fight will end with “RKO”. Owens reveals that his mother was hospitalized earlier this week and he could have taken the week off, but his mother would have a problem with it. So, he would instead beat up The Bloodline worse than ever before.


We get a video package for the lineage of WWE Tag Team Championship.

Bayley vs Piper Niven

Naomi is in Bayley’s corner while Chelsea is in Piper’s corner. Bayley starts with quick fire punches. Piper tries to corner her but she ducks and hits more punches. Piper catches her with a slam to the mat. She follows up with a senton to get a two-count. Bayley hits a bulldog using the ropes. Piper rolls out to the floor and slams her into the ringpost to take us to a break.

Piper is still in control after the break. Bayley counters and starts to create some momentum. Naomi and Chelsea gets into a fight on the floor before other women’s Money in the Bank participants come out to fight it out. Tiffany Stratton hits Prettiest Moonsault Ever on all the competitors on the floor. Bayley dodges Piper in the corner and hits Roseplant to get the pinfall. Bayley defeated Piper Niven in a singles match.

After the match, Bayley looks at the fallen women on the floor. She turns around into a Thesz press from Nia Jax. Jax hits a leg drop. Michin attacks Nia with a kendo stick and forces her to get out of the ring. Bayley nods at Michin as the segment comes to an end.

A Town Down-Under(Grayson Waller & Austin Theory) vs DIY(Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) – WWE Tag Team Championship

Ciampa and Waller start the match. Waller tries to take a cheap shot at Gargano which costs him as Ciampa takes advantage to beat him up. Gargano tags in for double team work on Waller. They also throw Theory down to the floor to take us to a break.

Waller and Theory have taken control against Gargano as we return from the break. Waller hits an elbow drop from the top rope on Gargano. Theory goes to show off after he tags in. This allows Gargano to hit a chest slap but Theory shuts him down quickly. Gargano counters Waller on the floor with an inverted hurricanrana. He hits a sunset flip on Theory but his tag is blocked as Waller pulls Ciampa off the apron. Theory hits a brainbuster on his knees on Gargano to take us to another break.

Waller is hit by Willow’s Bell by Ciampa and a superkick from Gargano, but he kicks out of the pin. Waller hits back with at Gargano. He goes to take a cheap shot at Gargano in the corner but Gargano ducks it and Waller catches Theory with it. DIY hit Shatter Machine on Waller, but he kicks out again. Waller fights back as Theory comes in. A Town Down Under hit Gargano with a double team move, but Ciampa breaks the pin.

Ciampa and Gargano throw Theory out of the ring. Gargano hits Theory with a suicide dive. Ciampa hits Waller with a powerbomb on his knees before DIY hit Meet in the Middle. Theory puts Waller’s leg on the ropes to break the pin. Gargano puts Waller into Garga-No Escape. Theory comes in to stop Waller from tapping out. Ciampa puts Theory in Scillian Strectch. Waller taps out. DIY hit A Town Down-Under to win WWE Tag Team Championship.

DIY celebrate after getting the title belt. Pyro goes off as they pose on the ramp.


We cut to a video promo from Solo Sikoa who says he has the Ula-Fala which means he is the Tribal Chief. Solo says Roman Reigns was not man enough to defend the Undisputed WWE title and their family’s legacy to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. He warns Cody Rhodes that he is coming for his title.
