WWE SmackDown June 2: Roman 1000 Days Celebration, MITB Qualifiers Set

WWE has announced the line-up for June 2, 2023 episode which includes Roman Reigns’ 1000 days title reign and 2 Money in the Bank qualifier matches.

Roman Reigns is completing his 1000-day title reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion on May 27 at Night of Champions. In light of his match against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at Night of Champions, he will be delaying his celebration to next week’s SmackDown.

Money in the Bank qualification will begin on RAW on May 29 episode. Two more Money in the Bank qualifiers are announced for June 2 SmackDown episode now- one for both men and women’s MITB matches which will take place at Money in the Bank 2023 PLE.

Zelina Vega, member of LWO will face Lacey Evans in one of the qualifiers for Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Lacey Evans has not appeared on SmackDown since she was drafted to SmackDown in Draft 2023. Vega has been involved in Smackdown Championship matches recently.

On the men’s side, Montez Ford will face LA Knight in the MITB qualifier match. Knight has been feuding with The Street Profits for the last couple of weeks. Knight got into an argument with the Street Profits, leading to a tag team match. The Street Profits defeated Knight and Rick Boogs on SmackDown May 19 episode.

During May 26 episode of SmackDown, LA Knight defeated Rick Boogs while the Street Profits made an appearance at the announcer’s table. After the match, La Knight stated that he can handle both men of The Street Profits at the same time. This feud will be continue on next week’s SmackDown in the form of Money in the Bank qualifier.

SmackDown episode of June 2, 2023 will be live from Mohegan Sun Arena at the Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The line-up is as below:

  • LA Knight vs Montez Ford – Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifier
  • Zelina Vega vs Lacey Evans – Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifier
