WWE RAW Results March 11, 2024, Live Updates – Gauntlet Match
WWE RAW episode of March 11, 2024, saw the new title challenger to be crowned to face Gunther for Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40. More build-up for WrestleMania continued.
Becky Lynch was set to face Liv Morgan in a singles match. WWE Women’s Tag Team titles saw The Kabuki Warriors defend the title against Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark. Undisputed tag team titles’ future was also expected to be sorted out before WrestleMania. Tune in below for results from WWE RAW March 11, 2024, with updates and highlights.
RESULTS & UPDATES
Drew McIntyre came out to open the show. He said that The Rock was part of the reason why wrestling evolved, but now he wanted to be part of the next evolution of wrestling and would be a World Heavyweight Champion everyone can be proud of. The champion Seth Rollins came out and dared McIntyre to hit him with Claymore then and there. McIntyre replied that he loves it when Seth Rollins gets serious, and took a shot on his feud with The Bloodline as he added that the only thing a champion should care about is the title and brand they represent. Seth Rollins said McIntyre was being a hypocrite just like CM Punk and asked McIntyre if he is an honorary member of The Bloodline. Rollins promised to won matches on both nights of WrestleMania, and that McIntyre ranks at the bottom of his list of issues.
We got a vignette for Chad Gable ahead of Gauntlet match later tonight.
Becky Lynch defeated Liv Morgan in a singles match.
Rhea Ripley came out to confront Becky Lynch. Liv Morgan was staring her down furiously when she came closer to her. Ripley told Becky that Becky knows she is better than her. Becky replied that if everyone is behind Ripley, it would only lead to more inspiration for her to defeat her.
SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and RAW GM Adam Pearce announced in a video package that Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest would defend WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania against five other tag teams in a Ladder Match. Judgment Day were shown in the clubhouse next and weren’t happy about the news.
Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell defeated Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri in a tag team match. During the march, Candice brought up how Maxxine was booed a few weeks ago. Maxxine was distraught and turned around into a big boot from Indi for the pinfall.
Judgment Day confronted Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce. They say that they got the idea for the tag team ladder match from The Miz and R-Truth. Pearce then announced a match was made between Damian Priest and R-Truth for tonight.
A video package recapped the events between The Rock, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes from SmackDown March 8 episode before Michael Cole brought out Cody Rhodes for an interview in the ring.
Cole asked Cody he slapped The Rock who is his boss and was threatening his career. Rhodes replied that The Rock isn’t his boss, but even if he is, it felt good to slap him. Cole reminded Cody how he and Seth Rollins have a long history, and asked if he could trust Rollins as Rollins might want to be the one to topple Roman. Cody gave examples of Triple H being a close ally now and how he teamed up with Jey Uso, and said he could go to war with Rollins by his side. Cody then showed up a video of how Cole asked him what would happen. He fell short of finishing his story last year. Cody said that question is still a good one. He admitted to being nervous or scared about facing Roman, but the story is no longer about just him and Reigns. He talked about how fans look up to him, how he could hand that title to his mother, and how the story would be complete for his wife, Brandi Rhodes, who also stood by him. Cody then directly talked to Roman to says that the final inning of the match has started now and he would finish the story at WrestleMania.
Liv Morgan was backstage when Becky Lynch came to him and offered a handshake. Nia Jax attacked them both and put Becky through a table with an Urinage.
The Kabuki Warriors(Asuka & Kairi Sane)(c) defeated Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark to retain WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Shayna had Sane in a sleeper choke but Dakota Kai pulled her ankle from outside for a distraction. Asuka got the tag and double teamed with Sane as she hit Insane elbow to get the pinfall.
We got a vignette for Shinsuke Nakamura.
Backstage, Andrade came to Judgment Day. Rhea Ripley revealed that she was the one who called on Andrade. Andrade said he is all about the business and would be open to hear to any proposition.
Damian Priest defeated R-Truth in a singles match. Priest decked R-Truth before the bell and dominated the first few minutes. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa came out to motivate R-Truth who slipped from Razor’s Edge and sent Priest into the ringpost. Priest took over control once again before R-Truth came back with 5 moves of Doom of John Cena, ending in putting STF on Priest. JD McDonagh and Finn Balor attacked Gargano and Ciampa on the floor. R-Truth got distracted and let go off the lock. He hit dive on everyone on the floor. Priest caught him with South of Heaven to get the pinfall.
Jey Uso came out to the ring and quickly talked about how The Bloodline had refused to let him go. So, he challenged Jimmy Uso for a singles match at WrestleMania.
Sami Zayn won the Gauntlet Match to get Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther at WrestleMania XL. The elimination and the match went down as below:
- Ricochet eliminated JD McDonagh. This match went down as a normal singles match with both men getting good spots to shine. Ricochet hit a Death Valley driver on the apron before a moonsault, a suplex and a brainbuster in the ring. JD sent him into the ring post and set him up on the top rope. Ricochet fought back and finally hit Shooting Star Press to get the pinfall.
- Bronson Reed eliminated Ricochet. Ricochet caught Reed with some quick attack upon his entrance but Reed came back into the match and hit Tsunami to get the pinfall.
- Sami Zayn eliminated Bronson Reed. Reed dominated this part of the match before Sami countered on the top rope to hit an avalanche powerbomb to get the pinfall. Reed attacked Sami after the pin and hit him with Tsunami.
- Sami Zayn eliminated Shinsuke Nakamura. As Sami was hit by Tsunami by Reed, Nakamura had the control over Sami for a while. Sami hit Blue Thunderbomb, avoided kinshasa, and then hit Helluva Kick to pin Nakamura.
- Sami Zayn eliminated Chad Gable. Sami was spent after facing two men in the match already, however he was still able to get back in the match. Gable put him in an ankle for a long time. Sami was able to break free but started limping due to all the damage from ankle lock. He hit Helluva kick once but was late for the pin. After more back and forth action, Sami got Gable in a cradle to get the pinfall.
