Cody Rhodes WWE Universal Champions

WWE RAW episode of April 8, 2024, is RAW After WrestleMania episode and will deal with the fallout from WrestleMania XL event. No matches are announced for the show so far, but we can expect to hear from the new champions.

This includes Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes, who will start a new story after finishing his story. We have new World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest and new Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn. Expect surprises which has been tradition for RAW After Mania episode. Opening Segment with Triple H, Cody Rhodes & The Rock

Paul “Triple H” Levesque opened the show as he made his way to the ring. Huge crowd support for him. “Thank You, Hunter” chants when he takes the mic. He says he actually came out to thanks the fans because the fans made something special. He called WrestleMania 40 the best WrestleMania of all time and the biggest of them all. He then welcomes the man who would lead us in this new era – new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes.

Cody made his way out. He shook hands with Levesque before posing with the title. Levesque raised his hands. Incredible support for Cody also with “Cody” and “You deserve it” chants. Levesque congratulated Cody for headling the greatest WrestleMania of all Time and breaking attendance record and gate record for RAW on his first day as the champion. Levesque then told Cody how he got a call from some guys in the studio who have made a special video for him. The video gets played featuring Cody’s media work, workout, failure at WrestleMania 39, all the beating he got from Rock and Roman, and then title win at WrestleMania 40. Cody was crying when he was shown in picture-in-picture. The video ended with Cody’s pictures with his family, Dusty Rhodes holding the WWE title and then Cody holding the Universal title. Levesque hugged Cody and the crowd started “You deserve it” chants again.

Cody started his promo by once again asking the fans what they want to talk about, but was almost crying again while finishing this line. He asked Samantha Irvin to introduce him one more time. The camera switched between Cody and Samantha during the announcement. He pointed out how he came out two years ago at RAW after WrestleMania to tell everyone about his dream, and that dream became a reality last night. He gave his respect and acknowledged “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns. The crowd also chanted, “Thank You, Roman”. Cody also showed his daughter’s footage saying, “Daddy, finish the story”. Cody then pointed out how he has become undesirable to undeniable to undisputed champion.

The Rock’s music hit and he came out. “Rocky”, “Undertaker”, and then “Rocky Sucks” chants for The Rock. Heavy boos as The Rock tried to speak. He had to wait for a while as “shut the F up” chants started. More and more chants everytime he tried to speak before finally he was able to start his promo. He said he came out to give his flowers to Cody and to announce that WWE has gathered the largest Philadelphia trash. Another couple of minutes passed by with heavy booing from the crowd. Rock said he came to give his flowers and recaped all that Cody had to endure. He said that their fathers were good friends, but he was not sure if his father was happy with all the things that he did to Cody.

Rock then asked Cody if he could hold the Universal title. Cody replied that Rock could hold Universal title as long as he could hold The People’s Champion title that The Rock was carrying. They exchange the titles. Rock wore the Universal title and said that it kind of felt right. They traded the titles back before Rock said he had to go out for a while now. Rock reminded that he pinned Cody on night 1, and while Cody’s story with Roman might have ended, his story with The Rock still continues and he would come back to take the title from him. Cody replied that since Rock is his boss, and that he is the champion, he is also Rock’s champion. Rock wanted to give one last thing to Cody before going away. He handed something in Cody’s hand which was hidden between their hands. Rock told Cody to never break his heart again. Rock left. Cody was having some mixed feelings.


We cut to the footage of Judgment Day arriving before we cut to new RAW Tag Team Champion Awesome Truth and then to new Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn with his family.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ilja Dragunov

Nakamura started with a single leg dropkick and battered Dragunov with several more strikes. Dragunov replied with an enzuigiri, strikes, a leg drop from the second rope, a couple of German suplexes, and constantine special clothesline. He missed a senton from the top. Nakamura then hit his signature sliding German suplex. He hit a big kick after missing kinshasa. Ilja countered kinshasa with a pump kick. He hit a powerbomb, H-bomb and torpedo Moscow to get the pinfall. Ilja Dragunov defeated Shinsuke Nakamura.


We cut to a recap of Drew McIntyre winning World Heavyweight Championship, arguing to CM Punk, Punk tripping him and Damian Priest cashing in MITB briefcase to win the title. We see Drew McIntyre entering the arena.

Judgment Day

Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh were in the ring. Balor mocked everyone for thinking that Damian Priest would fail during his MITB cash-in. Dominik was heavily booed when he announced Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. Rhea made her entrance. Rhea said that two things were proven at WrestleMania – 1st was that Mami is always on top; 2nd was that this is a new era for Judgment Day. Balor introduced new World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. “You Deserve It” chants as Priest took the mic. Priest said he wanted everyone else to step up and rise for the Judgment Day.

Rhea and Damian were in the middle to pose with their titles. R-Truth came in between them with his RAW Tag Team title to pose with them. Priest got mad at R-Truth for spoiling their celebration. R-Truth said he brought tag team titles back to Judgment Day, and wanted the group to add Miz to it. The Miz came out and told R-Truth that he did not want to be part of Judgment Day. Balor challenged them for a tag title match. R-Truth replied with a proposal for a 6-man tag team match – Judgment Day vs R-Truth, Miz and the guy you can’t see. Judgment Day beat up Miz and R-Truth and cleared them from the ring to stand tall going into a break.

Judgment Day(Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh) vs R-Truth, The Miz & John Cena

The match had already started as we returned from the break. Judgment Day were beating up R-Truth and this continued for a few minutes. Dominik missed a corner splash, and R-Truth jumped to tag in Miz. Miz took out JD McDonagh and Balor before running riot on Dominik. He hit a double DDT on Dominik and JD before Balor took out Miz from outside interference. Miz was thrown into the barricade by Balor and JD to take us to a break.

Miz was trying to tag in R-Truth but was held back. Balor hit a clothesline to drop Miz. JD came in to pull Miz back. Dominik pulled R-Truth off the apron to stop the tag after Miz kicked JD away. John Cena’s music hit and he came out to stand in Miz & R-Truth’s corner. Miz rolled past JD to tag in Cena who hit clotheslines and spin-out powerbomb. Miz hit the same on Dominik while R-Truth hit it on Balor. Cena, R-Truth & Miz hit 5 knuckle shuffle and Attitude Adjustment on Judgment Day trio to get the pinfall. R-Truth, The Miz & John Cena defeated Judgment Day.


We cut to a recap of “Big” Bronson Reed winning Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Reed was standing next to the trophy backstage and claimed to win fatal four-way #1 contender match for the World title.


Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio were walking backstage. Rhea cut short Dominik’s complain about John Cena to tell him that he put his faith in wrong guy in Andrade. Dominik said he would talk to Adam Pearce about it. After Dominik left, Liv Morgan blindsided Rhea with an attack. She threw Rhea into the walls before crew and security separated her.

Indi Hartwell vs Roxanne Perez

Roxanne faked a handshake to slap Indi. Indi’s size was giving her an advantage but Roxanne was relentless with her attack. Roxanne tried to work on her leg for a while. Indi hit a clothesline and big punches to create some momentum. She missed a corner splash but Candice LeRae pulled Roxanne from the outside. Indi started arguing with Candice. The referee tried to keep Candice out of the ring which gave Roxanne a chance to rake Indi’s eyes behind his back. Roxanne hits Pop-rox to get the pinfall. Roxanne Perez defeated Indi Hartwell.


Sami Zayn was backstage, and Jey Uso came in to meet him and congratulate him on winning the title.


Roxanne Perez was walking backstage when Natalya interrupted her to say that she would see her tomorrow night at NXT. Roxanne replied that she would see her tomorrow on her show.


Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn came out to the ring. He talked about Gunther being a great Intercontinental Champion, but he beat him. “Ole” chants started before Sami thanked the fans for their support. He said seeing his family and Kevin Owens before going out for the match helped him. There was one other guy who helped him. Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci interrupted them. Kaiser trashed Sami on the mic. They surrounded the ring from two sides, but Chad Gable ran out to Sami’s side before they could attack.


We got a video package for Sheamus’s return – it’s Fight Night.

Imperium(Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) vs Sami Zayn & Chad Gable

Gable and Vinci started the match. Kaiser took control against Gable when he tagged in. Gable fought back to tag in Sami who hit an elbow from the second rope. Sami was cornered to the opposition side but he continued to fight both opponents. He send them to the floor before Gable hit a dive on them. Gable hit a crossbody on Vinci in the ring for a close two-count. Vinci blocked blue thunderbomb with a side headlock. Kaiser hit a cheap shot from outside to allow Imperium to take control. They hit a double dropkick combo before the break.

Gable got a hot tag after the break and beat up Vinci for a while. Kaiser got a blind tag to blindside Gable. Imperium hit Imperium bomb but Sami broke the pin. Sami was knocked out to the floor again. Gable hit Imperium with German suplexes. Sami came into hit a trio of stereo German suplexes with Gable on Imperium. Sami put Vinci in an ankle lock. Kaiser pulled Gable from the apron before attacking Sami. Sami clotheslined him out of the ring before hitting Vinci with an exploder and Helluva kick. Gable hit Vinci with Chaos Theory for the pinfall. Sami Zayn & Chad Gable defeated Imperium.


Jey Uso cut a promo to hype himself to become #1 contender for World Heavyweight Championship tonight. We cut to Ricochet doing shadow boxing.


Andrade was backstage with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and NXT GM Ava. After Andrade left, they discussed draft for a bit before Chelsea Green interrupted them. Chelsea complained about not being on WrestleMania card. Pearce said he has booked her for a match and she should go out right away for her match.

Chelsea Green vs TBA

Chelsea Green made her entrance first before Jade Cargill made her entrance as her surpise opponent. The bell rung but Green started protesting the match. She turned to the commentary team to get the match cancelled. As she turned around, Cargill hit her with a pump kick. Jade hit her with The Jaded while Green kept screaming “no” to get the pinfall. Jade Cargill defeated Chelsea Green.


Chad Gable was celebrating with Alpha Academy when Sami Zayn came in wanting to talk to him. Sami told Gable that they were even after tonight’s match where he let him get the pin. Gable said they were not even. Sami said he was kidding and offered a shot at Intercontinental Championship next week in his hometown in Montreal.


Drew McIntyre made his entrance for the main event. But, he took the mic first and called what happened to him last night bulls##t. He gave his respect to Seth Rollins first before saying that Damian Priest is not the reason why he lost the title. The reason is CM Punk. He kept talking trash about Punk until Jey Uso made his entrance to interrupt him. Drew was throwing steel chair on the floor in frustration as we cut to a break.

Drew McIntyre vs Ricochet vs Bronson Reed vs Jey Uso – #1 Contender for World Heavyweight Championship

McIntyre brawled with Jey, and Reed brawled with Ricochet. Jey and Ricochet were cleared from the ring. Reed sent McIntyre out of the ring before clotheslining Jey out of the ring again. Ricochet managed to send Reed out of the ring before hitting a dive on them.

Jey broke a fall from McIntyre on Ricochet before sending to the floor. A table was set up beside the commentary table. Reed beat up Jey and Ricochet before putting Jey through the table to get us to the second break of the match. Lot of action before McIntyre
hit Michinoku Driver on Reed. Jey broke the pinfall one again.

Jey & Ricochet hit superkicks on McIntyre before Reed also joined them in for a triple superkick. Jey & Ricochet hit superkick on Reed. Reed ran over Ricochet with a clothesline before Jey hit him with a spear. McIntyre broke the pinfall. Jey & McIntyre fought on the top rope. Jey hit a headbutt to hang McIntyre upside down. McIntyre hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Jey before Ricochet hit him with a dropkick to his chest. Reed destroyed Ricochet in the ring.

McIntyre pulled Reed from the top rope but got sent to the floor. McIntyre hit him with a Glasgow Kiss, slammed him into the ringpost and set him up on the announce table. Jey hit a tope suicidia on McIntyre. Ricochet hit a 450 Splash on Reed to put him through the announce desk. Jey and McIntyre fought in the ring. McIntyre hit a Futureshock DDT. He was looking for the Claymore Kick, but CM Punk grabbed his ankle from the outside. Jey hit a spear and Uso Splash on McIntyre to get the pinfall. Jey Uso defeated Drew McIntyre, Ricochet & Bronson Reed.

CM Punk was standing on top of the announce table during the pinfall.
