WWE NXT Results & Live Updates January 31, 2023
Welcome to the live results blog for WWE NXT episode of January 31, 2023 which was the go-home episode for Vengeance Day 2023 event.
Indus Sher – Sanga and Veer – faced The Creed Brothers in a tag team match as they continued their quest for respect. Cora Jade vs Lyra Valkyrie was advertised but did not take place. Roxanne Perez engaged in a brawl with Toxic Attraction.
The teams of Malik Blade & Edris Enofe, The Dyad, Andre Chase & Duke Hudson clashed in a qualifier for WWE NXT Tag Team Championship match at Vengeance Day. Stevie Turner made her NXT in-ring debut against Danny Palmer. Dijak ended up facing Von Wagner in another singles match.

- Indus Sher(Veer & Sanga) defeated The Creed Brothers(Julius Creed & Brutus Creed) in a tag team via pinfall.
- Zoey Stark defeated Indi Hartwell in a singles match via pinfall.
- Dijak defeated Von Wagner in a singles match via pinfall.
- Tyler Bate defeated Axiom in a singles match via pinfall.
- Stevie Turner defeated Danny Palmer in a singles match via pinfall.
- Drew Gulak defeated Charlie Dempsey in a singles match via pinfall.
- Andre Chase & Duke Hudson defeated The Dyad(Rip Fowler & Jagger Ried) and Edris Enofe & Malik Blade in a three-way tag team match via pinfall to qualify for NXT Tag Team Championship Match at Vengeance Day.
LIVE UPDATES
Indus Sher(Veer & Sanga) vs The Creed Brothers(Julius Creed & Brutus Creed)
Veer and Julius start the match. Veer sends Julius to his corner but Julius runs out of there and tags in Brutus. Sanga also gets in and Sanga gets the first significant shot on Brutus. Veer hits an elbow drop on Brutus. The Creed Brothers double team on Veer for a suplex and a body slam. Veer drops Julius on the ropes to come back.
Indus Sher work on Julius now. Veer jumps over Sanga to drop on Julius as Sanga held him on the ropes. Sanga runs him over after Julius tackles Veer. A double shoulder tackle from Indus Sher follows before Sanga outs on a shoulder and neck lock. Sanga hits a corner splash and an inverted bull dog. Chest slaps on Julius as the punishment continues.
Julius breaks free of a leg lock with an enzuigiri and tags in Brutus. Brutus swings big on Veer and connects as he gets into the ring. Sanga is knocked off the apron and thrown into the announce table. Brutus hits a German suplex on Veer before bringing in Julius. Julius hits a standing shooting star press but Sanga breaks the pin.
Brutus tackles Sanga to the floor and Julius hits a powerbomb on Veer for a near fall. Jinder Mahal catches Julius’ leg and this prompts Ivy Nile to get up on the apron to confront him. Julius accidentally knocks off Nile as he was running the ropes. Veer hits a big lariat as Julius was in shock. Sanga tags in and hits a chokeslam to get the pinfall.
Winners – Indus Sher
Axiom is watching a previous match between A-Kid and Tyler Bate from NXT UK. Bate comes in and says he reminds him of A-Kid a lot. They agree to a friendly match later tonight. Damon Kemp comes in and mocks them for it.
Indi Hartwell vs Zoey Stark
We see Indi Hartwell talking about her Royal Rumble appearance when Zoey Stark comes in and ridicules her. Stark says she lasted for 30 minutes in that match while Indi was in it just for a few minutes. Sol Ruca tells Zoey that Indi has defeated her in a singles match previously. Zoey challenges her for a match tonight.
Back and forth to start before Indi hits a clothesline. She hits more big shots and Zoey has to move to the floor. Indi beats her up on the floor before bringing her back. Indi hits a big boot to her face on the ropes. Zoey comes back with a sliding lariat.
They trade big chops before Indi sends Zoey to the corner for a back elbow. Zoey trips her near the ropes and hits a springboard senton. Zoey puts on a chinlock and then changes it into a front face lock. Indi tackles her to the corner. Indi hits big punches before hitting a spinebuster for a two-count.
Zoey hits a roundhouse kick and German suplex for a two-count. They block each other before Indi hits an elbow from the apron. Zoey trips her on the ropes and hits her finisher to get the pinfall.
Winner – Zoey Stark
After the match, Stark continues to attack Indi when Sol Ruca runs out and forces her to run away.
The Schism cuts a promo backstage saying that they owe Vengeance which is kept away from them for far too long. They say The Dyad will win the qualifier tonight and will win the NXT Tag Team titles at Vengeance Day. They also call Andre Chase a false idol and that Chase University will fail.
Apollo Crews is already in Charlotte ahead of Vengeance Day later this week to get acclimitized. He says he is ready for Carmelo Hayes’ game plan and if Trick Williams would want to get involved, he will be handled.
Who is Fastest & The Baddest?
Noth American Champion Wes Lee comes out to talk about his title defense against Dijak at Vengeance Day. He says this is his biggest challenge so far. Lee says Dijak talks about justice but he just wants what is on his shoulders. Dijak interrupts him and tells him to soak all these moments as these are his final days as the champion.
Dijak says Lee had every opportunity to hand him that title but he chose not to. Now, he will rip that championship from Lee’s hands. Lee replies that he became the champion with hard work and support from the fans. And if Dijak wants the title, he will have to fight not just Lee but also every one of his fans.
Von Wagner and Mr. Stone interrupt him. Stone says Wagner is actually the biggest and the fastest in NXT. Wagner says he getting overlooked is the biggest injustice. Dijak says he has no issues with Wagner at all. Lee says both of them are saying they are the biggest and the baddest, and since someone is lying, justice should be served. Lee says if Wagner beats Dijak tonight, he will become the #1 contender after Vengeance Day. Wagner attacks Dijak to start a brawl.
Von Wagner vs Dijak
The bell rings and they trade shots. Wagner hits a jumping knee strike and a fallaway slam as we cut to a break.
Dijak dumps Wagner as we return. Dijak hits back heel kicks before a back elbow. Wagner hits a suplex to send Dijak in the corner. Wagner hits a big boot in the corner. They hits each other with tackles before Dijak hits a back elbow and a thrust kick. Wagner hits back with a big boot for a two-count.
Dijak blocks a chokeslam from Wagner and hits a chokeslam himself but Wagner kicks out of the pin. Dijak takes Wagner to the top and hits some shots. Wagner fights back and hits him with a double underhook slam from the second rope but Dijak kicks out.
Dijak counters by putting a choke on Wagner. When Wagner starts to fade, Dijak hits him with Feast Your Eyes to get the pinfall.
Winner – Dijak
Stacks Lorenzo and Tony D’Angelo are watching the match backstage and Stacks says Dijak might win North American title at Vengeance Day. They discuss their business for a while.
Mckenzie Mitchell is backstage and shows us the footage in the aftermath of the attack on Nikkita Lyons last week. Several from the women’s roster were around there but no one have come forward to tell who has attacked Nikkita.
We get a video package for Bron Breakker vs Grayson Waller match.
Tyler Bate vs Axiom
They lock up and quickly come to stalemate. Counters from both sides before Bate gets Axiom in a pinning position. Bate hits an armdrag and works on the arm for a while. Axiom counters an arm twist but Bate reverses it back. Axiom hits a hurricanrana for a two-count. Bate hits a kick to midsection before Axiom tackles both of them to the floor. We cut to a break.
Bate swings Axiom for a while until he himself becomes dizzy. He gets back to normal and swings some more before hitting a Death Valley Driver for a two-count. They trade forearms. Axiom trips Bate with a leg sweep before hitting a penalty kick. Bate goes an uppercut but Axiom puts on a near-naked choke. Bate gets to his feet and breaks the choke.
Bate nails a big right. Axiom hits back with a superkick. Bate gets him into a pin with a jackknife for a near fall. Bate hits a big shot and a boomerang. Axiom counters Tiger Driver 97 a couple of times before Bate finally hits it to get the pinfall.
Winner – Tyler Bate
They shake hands after the match. Damon Kemp attacks Axiom from behind. Bate forces him to run away.
Isla Dawn does an initiation ceremony for Alba Fyre to induct her into her house.
Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes are backstage with McKenzie. Williams is shaken by Apollo’s vision. Hayes comforts him and says he will beat Apollo at Vengeance Day.
Perez & Toxic Attraction
Roxanne Perez, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne are getting interviewed in a split screen. Roxanne talks about entering Royal Rumble in the weekend. Jacy and Gigi mock her for a while over it. Roxanne says while they act like they are a team, Gigi and Lacy will end up fighting each other. They mock Roxanne over getting tricked last week. Jacy says Roxanne peaked at 21 and it will all end for her at Vengeance Day.
They continued to mock her and Roxanne leaves the frame after getting angrier. Toxic Attraction continue to mock her even further. They are asked who will be the champion on Saturday. They each take their name and say Toxic Attraction will take their place back. Roxanne attacks them both and puts Jacy through the set behind them. Crew members run in and try to stop them.
Danny Palmer vs Stevie Turner
Turner starts with an arm wringer. Palmer flips out of it. Turner hits a big boot and before raking her face into the ropes. Turner hits a running boot on the ropes before hitting a neckbreaker. Turner puts on a chin lock. Palmer breaks free and hits flying shoulder tackles before a Thesz press. Palmer unloads on the mat before Turner hits a pump kick and DDT. Turner hits Side Effect to get the pinfall.
Winner – Stevie Turner\
Kaina James is backstage and saying “I Love You” to someone on phone. Fallon Henley comes in and listens to this, getting upset that James is playing Brooks Jensen. NXT Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter come in and mock them. When they leave, Henley says they should stay focused for Saturday but this conversation is not over.
Drew Gulak vs Charlie Dempsey
They start with some grappling and Dempsey works well to get Gulak in a pinning position. Gulak goes for an arm wringer but Dempsey breaks it. We cut to a break.
Dempsey counters a crossface from Gulak before bringing Gulak down with a dragon screw leg. Dempsey hits a double underhook suplex and takes Gulak right into submission. He hits another underhook suplex for a two-count. Gulak comes back but Dempsey drops him with another dragon screw leg.
Gulak hits a big clothesline for a two-count. Dempsey hits a backbreaker for a two-count. Gulak hits a big slap which enrages Dempsey. Dempsey hits a front kick to the face. Gulak trips him and puts on a submission on the face. Dempsey goes for cross-face chickenwing but Gulak continues to block it.
Gulak manages to break it but accidentally sends him into Hank Walker who standing ringside. Gulak rolls up Dempsey to get the pinfall.
Winner – Drew Gulak
Von Wagner is pacing backstage in anger and Mr. Stone tells him that this is not working. Stone says he only knows that Wagner is big and strong but everyone knows that. Stone asks Wagner to help him understand him. Stone screams, “help me help you!”
The Dyad(Rip Fowler & Jagger Ried) vs Edris Enofe & Malik Blade vs Andre Chase & Duke Hudson – Qualifier for NXT Tag Team Championship Match
Duke and Fowler start the match. Duke hits a body slam before bringing in Chase for double team leg sweep and elbow drop combo. Fowler chops at Enofe to tag him in. Chase blocks an armdrag from Enofe and puts him in a crucifix for a two-count in a “teachable moment”. Chase dodges more attacks from Enofe before he hits a dropkick. Enofe tags in Blade for some double-team work on Chase.
Reid takes a blind tag from Blade and drops Chase. Dyad hits spiked piledriver on Chase on the floor. Fowler slams Chase as they get back to the ring for a two-count. Fowler puts on a shoulder and neck lock on Chase. Chase breaks free but Fowler drops him again. Chase’s counters are blocked before he ends up hitting a suplex.
Ried blocks a tag by dropping Duke from the apron. Chase skips past Ried but Duke is not there. Dyad also take down Enofe and Malik from their corners to block a tag out. Ried and Fowler hit Chase with a powerbomb/double knees combo. Duke gets back to his corner and Chase tags him in. Duke hits a side slams on The Dyad before nailing them with jabs. A clothesline and a senton on Fowler before a big boot to Reid. Duke hits a German suplex on Ried to get a near fall.
Blade takes a blind tag from Duke and hits him with an enzuigiri. He hits a crossbody on Ried before hitting a hurricanrana on Duke on the floor. Enofe tags in. Blade hits a splash from the top before Enofe hits an elbow drop. They hit a double team blockbuster on Ried but everyone else come in to break the tag. Enofe and Blade send them to the floor and hit them with suicide dives.
Enofe takes Ried back to the ring. Ried trips him on the top rope. Fowler sends Blade into the steel steps. Chase tags in from Enofe and drops Dyad and Blade from Tower of Doom. Chase hits Chase U kicks on Reid. Ava Raine distracts Chase. Thea Hail drops Raine on the apron. Reid misses a corner tackle. Duke tags in and Chase joins him for flatliner on Reid to get the pinfall.
Winner – Duke Hudson & Andre Chase
Chase University celebreat their win. Gallus and Pretty Deadly come out while New Day appear on the big screen to congratulate Chase U. The show goes off the air.
