Welcome to the live results blog for WWE NXT July 18, 2023, which featured a key bout as Dominik Mysterio came to challenge North American Champion Wes Lee.

The show also continued the build-up for The Great American Bash 2023 event. Don Tony D’Angelo returned to NXT after more than a month as he got out of jail. Gigi Dolin and Kiana James continued their rivalry with a singles match. Thea Hail faced Elektra Lopez in a singles match.

Lucien Price & Bronco Nima made their in-ring debut in NXT against Scrypts and Axiom. Los Lotharios(Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo) faced NXT Heritage Cup Nathan Frazer and Dragon Lee.

NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and his challenger Ilja Dragunov got into some misunderstanding last week. Did things escalate between them further? Tune in below as we bring you these updates with live result from WWE NXT July 18, 2023, with winners and highlights.

Carmelo and Dragunov!

The show opens with recap of Ilja Dragunov beating Bron Breakker to become the #1 contender for NXT Championship, and his failed attempt to help bout Carmelo Hayes during main event against Judgment Day last week. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams come out to the ring. They talk about their match against Judgment Day and say they were just moments away from beating them despite being outnumbered 4-2. But then, Dragunov tried to “help”.

Dragunov comes out and says if Damian Priest had used his MITB briefcase on Carmelo, he would not only have lost the match, but he may have also cashed it in and won it to take it to the main roster. Dragunov says he had to intervene because Carmelo lost control. Carmelo praises Dragunov for his match against Breakker and how he manages to bring out intensity every time. He adds that he plans to have a long title reign and not lose at Great American Bash. Carmelo claims to be Mr. PLE and will hit differently. Dragunov says Hayes has to hit differently otherwise his empire will fall.


Mustafa Ali comes in to ask Wes Lee why he is facing Dominik Mysterio when their title match at Great American Bash is already signed. Lee tells him not to worry and he will be at Great American Bash. Ali says he will be there, but Lee still has to make his way.


Earlier today, we see Tony D’Angelo getting released from jail and Stacks waiting for him outside.

Los Lotharios(Angel Garza & Humberto Carillo) vs Nathan Frazer & Dragon Lee

Los Lotharios attack Frazer and Lee at ringside before the bell. Frazer and Humberto start the match. Humberto hits an enzuigiri. Garza tags in and knocks off Lee from the apron. Frazer hits a shoulder tackle after a misdirection. He builds momentum off the ropes before hitting a dropkick. Lee comes in for some double team. Lee puts on a chinlock breifly before Garza tags in Carillo, who tries to remove Lee’s mask. Carillo hits a hurricarana. Lee sends him to the floor. Garza is also sent to the floor. Frazer goes for a suicide dive but Los Lotharios catch him and slam him. Lee is also dropped to the floor as we cut to a break.

Frazer tries to tag out to Lee but Garza blocks him and slams him to the mat. Frazer skips past him on the second attempt and tags in Lee. Lee takes Garza to the corner for some quick hits. Carillo tries to interfere but is sent to the floor. Carillo returns quickly to break a pinfall attempt. Carillo drops Frazer on the announce table. Garza and Carillo hits a double team avalanche press slam. Garza hits a moonsault on Frazer on the floor. Carillo hits a splash on Lee but he somehow kicks out of pinfall.

Lee counters on the top rope. all 4 men hit each other with quick moves. Lee hits a powerbomb on Carillo to get a near fall. Carillo hits a clothesline to bring down Lee. Garza tags in. Lee hits double back elbows on both opponents. Frazer hits a dropkick and high crossbody on both opponents on the floor. Lee hits Garza with tilt-a-whirl bulldog to get the pinfall.

Winners – Nathan Frazer & Humberto Carillo

Los Lotharios argue on the floor after the match. Carillo pushes Garza on the floor and walks away.


We get a video package from “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin who wonders who he is.

Gigi Dolin vs Kiana James

Gigi starts with quick punches before Kiana ducks at takes her to corner. Gigi comes out of the corner and fires more shots. Kiana gets a roll-up to get a two-count. Gigi hits an armdrag before a dropkick to send James to the floor. James drives Gigi into the ring post. Back to the ring, James stomps on Gigi before hitting a body slam to get a two-count. She puts on a chin lock but Gigi breaks it quickly. More quick strikes from Gigi before a couple of clotheslines, a pump kick and a roundhouse kick. James ducks and pulls Gigi down to the mat by her hair. James picks her bag that was sitting in the corner. Gigi takes the bag away from her. The referee stops Gigi from using the bag but James hits her with 401K to get the pinfall.

Winner – Kiana James

We see Srypts and Axiom arguing with Lucien Price and Bronco Nima backstage last week. After they agree to a match, Axiom tells Scyrpts that they are not a tag team and wants to achieve so much on his own in NXT.


We see Ivy Nile taping up backstage.


Eddy Thorpe is backstage for an interview and claims he should be in line for a title shot after his win at NXT Underground. Meta-Four come in and they tell Thorpe that Supernova Session will not take place tonight also, and hand him an autographed photo of Noam Dar. Thorpe rips it, drawing angry reactions from Meta-Four.

Lucien Price & Bronco Lima vs Scrypts & Axiom

Axiom uses his speed to counter Nima’s power. Axiom hits some chops. Nima puts him to the corner but Axiom continues to fight back. Scrypts tags in for a double team but then attacks Axiom from behind. Nima manhandles Axiom some more before Price hits a big clothesline in the corner to get the pinfall. Scrypts is just sitting in the corner during this.

Tony’s Homecoming!

Stacks is in the ring and has some of crime family members in the ring with him. Tony D’Angelo comes out. He praises Stacks for bringing him out of jail and says things are not always what they may seem. We see how Stacks came up with a plan to fake that he was turning on Tony to lure Joe Coffey into accepting a stipulation for tag team title match. Gallus trio come out and argue with them for a while. Joe threatens with them a baton but D’Angelo Family have their own sticks. They take down Gallus easily and put Joe through the table.

Elektra Lopez vs Thea Hail

Lopez starts with some scoop slams on Thea. She hits shoulder tackles on the corner. Thea hits running shoulder tackles before an exploder and a rolling senton. Lola Vice distracts Thea to allow Lopez to run her over. Thea comes back quickly to put on a Kimura lock. Lopez tries to hang on, but had to tap out.

Winner – Thea Hail

Eddy Thorpe vs Oro Mensah

Thorpe grounds Mensah. He ducks a shot and puts on a chinlock. Mensah tries to land a big shot. Thorpe fires back with a big shot in response. Mensah takes control of the match and hits a suplex. Thorpe catches a kick but Mensah counters with an overhead kick. Mensah goes for a lock. Thorpe comes out of it and fires punches before running him over with double ax handles. He hits a running kick before throwing him out of the ring and hits a suicide dive. Lash Legends puts Noam Dar into the ring which distracts the referee. Dijak drops Thorpe with a pump kick on the floor. Thorpe beats the referee’s countdown somehow. But, Oro Mensah hits him with a spinning heel kick in the corner to get the pinfall.

Winner – Oro Mensah

Dana Brooke is in gymnastics session with Kelani Jordan. Jordan is still mad at losing to Cora Jade last week. Cora is watching this on TV backstage. She takes a shot at Dana for wondering if gymnastics will help her next week.


Roxanne Perez and Blair Davenport join us in a split-screen interivew. Perez reveals that they will clash at Great American Bash. Davenport says that is bad for Perez as she will leave her down in the ring just as she did on July 4. Perez snaps at Davenport for thinking that she is an easy target. Davenport says she does not have any killer instincts, and she should go home after she beats her. Roxanne removes her mic and leaves.

Wes Lee(c) vs Dominik Mysterio – NXT North American Championship

Lee puts on a chinlock as the match starts. Dominik breaks free after a while. Lee tackles him to the apron. Dominik moves to the floor. Lee looks for a dive but he stops as Rhea Ripley intervenes.

Dominik is in control as we return. He goes for three amigos but Lee blocks the third suplex. Dominik hits a dropkick to keep control. Dominik hits 619 and Michinoku driver but Lee is able to kick out. Dominik misses a splash from the top rope as Lee gets out of the way. They trade punches. Dominik hits a shot to midsection before dropping Lee with a suplex. Dominik whips him hard into the corner. Lee counters with a big boot and fires quick punches. He hits running double ax handles, calf kicks and a double stomp to the back.

Lee hits a superkick, an enzuigiri and a tornado DDT. Dominik moves to the floor and picks up the North American title. Lee hits him with a suicide dive. Lee brings Dominik back into the ring and hits a twisting splash. Before he can cover, Finn Balor and Damian Priest run out to the apron. Lee hits Priest with a Kardiak kick. Balor is knocked off the apron. Rhea hits Lee with a title belt and Dominik covers him to get the win.

Winner – Dominik Mysterio
