WWE Announced New Commentary Teams with Premiere Week Programs

WWE has officially announced new announce teams for all of three shows-RAW, SmackDown and NXT with the announcement of next weeks match lineup.

Dubbed as the ‘WWE premiere week’, next week will feature eight hours of primetime coverage of WWE programs on TV. WWE is treating Monday Night RAW’s 30th September episode on USA Network as the season premiere show. NXT will start airing for full 2 hours on USA network starting 2 October after one-hour coverage in last two weeks.

Also, Total Divas’ new season will start on USA Network starting from 2 October at 10 PM EST, just after NXT. And finally, Friday Night SmackDown will premiere on FOX Network starting from 4 October. Also, WWE will air NXT UK and 205 Live shows on WWE Network over the week.

WWE Commentary Teams

The new announce teams for each brand is going to be as below as per WWE’s announcement:

  • WWE RAW will feature Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin as play-by-play commentators and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler as an analyst.
  • NXT will keep the same commentary team as earlier with Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix
  • Friday Night SmackDown on Fox will feature Michael Cole as play-by-play, Corey Graves as an analyst and Renee Young as the special Contributor. Renee Young is also announced to be the host of WWE Backstage studio show on FS1.

Monday Night RAW- 30 September 2019(USA Network)

  • WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins defends his title against Rey Mysterio
  • The Miz hosts WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair on a special edition of Miz TV
  • Brock Lesnar makes a special appearance
  • AJ Styles defends his United States Title vs Cedric Alexander
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Alexa Bliss takes on Sasha Banks
  • Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler defend WWE RAW Tag Team Championship against Heavy Machinery

NXT – 2 October 2019(USA Network)

  • NXT Champion Adam Cole defends the title against Matt Riddle
  • The Undisputed ERA defend their golden prophecy and the NXT Tag Team Championships in a match against the Street Profits
  • NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler takes on Candice LeRae to defend her title
  • Johnny Gargano competes against Shane Thorne
  • “The Velveteen Dream Experience” segment

Friday Night SmackDown – 4 October 2019(Fox Network)

  • Friday Night SmackDown Kickoff Show “blue carpet” special will air at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on FOX from the Staples Center, Los Angeles. The show will feature celebrities, Superstars and Legend arrivals to the show apart from backstage access
  • WWE Champion Kofi Kingston puts his title on the line against Brock Lesnar
  • The Four Horsewomen square off – WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks in a tag team match
  • Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon in a Ladder Match, the loser will have to leave WWE
  • Roman Reigns takes on Erick Rowan in a rematch from Clash of Champions
