William Regal Returns, Ava Becomes General Manager of WWE NXT
William Regal has officially made a comeback to WWE NXT.
During NXT episode on January 23, Ava emerged from Shawn Michaels’ office accompanied by former NXT General Manager William Regal. Regal revealed that Ava had been appointed as the new General Manager of NXT and entrusted her with overseeing the brand. He assured Ava that he was available with just a phone call if she required any assistance.
Ava’s appointment as the new general manager of NXT means that she is the youngest general manager in WWE history. She has been helping Shawn Michaels in booking matches and handling superstar’s requests in the past few weeks.

Ava, formerly recognized as Ava Raine in NXT, is the actual daughter of The Rock. The announcement of her new position coincided with the day her father officially joined the TKO Board of Directors.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Shawn Michaels. He has been leading the booking decisions at NXT for more than 2 years now.
Regal served as the NXT general manager from 2014 until the NXT 2.0 rebrand in September 2021. Following his release by the company in January 2022, Regal joined AEW and made his debut at AEW Revolution.
Although he was prominently featured with AEW, he departed the company after 2022 to make a return to WWE. The terms of his agreement for the return stipulated that Regal would not make on-screen appearances for a year.
