Tommaso Ciampa Likely to Make In-Ring Return in Mid August
Former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa is currently slated to return to in-ring action in mid-August.
Fightful.com is reporting that they obtained an internal WWE inactive list which features injured talents and their expected return dates. As per the list, Tommaso Ciampa is currently being set for return in the middle of August.
Ciampa last wrestled on 20 February this year and had to relinquish his NXT Championship due to his neck injury. Ciampa had anterior cervical fusion surgery and was expected to miss a minimum of six months of action. Ciampa appeared at commentary panel at the pre-show for NXT Takeover: XXV. At the time, Ciampa mentioned that he was cleared for non-combat action.
Triple H also stated that Ciampa’s recovery was going better than expected at the time. However, he told fans not to get their hopes much higher as there is still so much to be done before he could return to the ring.
Yesterday, Tommaso Ciampa also took to twitter where he mentioned as that he did not require to stack towel under his neck for the support and did not feel any discomfort. As per his admission, this is a big step in his recovery and his return to the ring
