WrestleMania Backlash: Rhodes Beats Rollins in a Classic Rematch
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes has successfully defeated Seth Rollins for the second consecutive time at WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022.
The rematch between them started a bit slow but then it quickly picked up the pace. Rhodes even look frustrated in the first few minutes due to the failed counters.
During the match, Seth Rollins hit him with the moves like enzuigiri followed by the superkick, falcon arrow, and pedigree but he failed to get the three count.
In the ending moments, Cody hits a crossrhodes and tried to hit the second one but it was avoided by Rollins. Cody then tried to hit the vertebreaker but Rollins countered it with a roll-up. Rhodes reversed the pinfall and hold onto the Messiah’s tights to get the victory.
Cody Rhodes returned to WWE WrestleMania 38 as the mystery opponent of Seth Rollins. Rhodes defeated Rollins in a classic but the following week Rollins challenged Rhodes for a rematch which was then made official for WrestleMania Backlash.
