Reigns & Sikoa vs Owens & Sami Set for WWE Night of Champions 2023
Rumors are indeed true and Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns is going after tag team titles also.
Yesterday, rumors were rife that Roman Reigns’ mistrust on The Usos would increase and he would himself go after WWE Tag Team Championship by teaming with Solo Sikoa at WWE Night of Champions 2023 event. Those rumors were proved true on SmackDown this week.
Roman returned to SmackDown on May 12 episode for the first time since WrestleMania 39. Roman then praised Solo Sikoa to step up at Backlash for the Bloodline in his absence and getting a win against Riddle, Owens and Sami. He was quick to take offense on The Usos lossing tag team titles to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 39.
Roman was more miffed with The Usos dedicating their rematch to him, but once agian ending up on the losing side. The Tribal Chief then asked The Usos to apologize for their loss to disrespect him and their family. The Usos were clearly upset with the order and Jimmy was almost about to charge towards Roman when Jey intervened and apologized.
Jey then asked Roman to get them another title shot. But, Roman had already made different plans. Paul Heyman announced that Roman will team up with Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions to challenge Owens and Sami for the tag team titles. The match was later made official by WWE. These two teams will also come face to face next week on SmackDown in the build-up to this match.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn came together in March after feuding with The Bloodline for a long time. They defeated The Usos in the main event of WrestleMania 39 night 1 to end The Usos’ 600+ days title reign. Will they be able to defend the title successfully against The Tribal Chief and Solo also?
