Randy Orton has taken to twitter to put out the challenge for the Rock for a match at WrestleMania 36 on 5 April 2020 before his appearance at SmackDown’s Fox premiere episode.

WWE is celebrating the 20th Anniversary Celebration for SmackDown this week along with Fox Network premiere for the blue brand show on Friday, 4 October. The coverage will start at 7:30 PM EST on Fox and you can also catch the live results & updates blog here on itnwwe.com.

Many WWE past & present superstars are announced for the show including the person who credits himself for the name of the show- Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson. It was not announced how the Rock will be used on the show. The recent rumor has been that WWE will start the program for Roman Reigns vs the Rock match for Wrestlemania 36.

But things might turn out to quite different if we believe the Viper’s tweet. Orton has tweeted to the Rock that he wants to have a discussion with him over who is the greatest third-generation wrestler of all time. And in order to conclude over the debate, Orton wanted to face the most electrifying man in the sports entertainment at next year’s showpiece event.

The Rock was promoted as the first third-generation wrestler in WWE’s history when he signed with the company back in 1996. He is the son of Rocky Johnson who became the first African American to become the WWE Tag Team Champion, and grandson of Peter Maivia. Orton is also a third-generation wrestler with his grandfather Bob Orton, father “Cowboy” Bob Orton, and uncle Barry Orton previously working in the pro-wrestling business.

However, there remains a strong possibility that Orton’s tweet is just a ruse and there may not be a plan for the Rock to be involved with him.
