NXT Results and Updates- 31 July 2019: Fandango Returns

- Tyler Breeze defeated Jaxson Ryker with a pinfall. The match ended pretty quickly as Breeze countered a chokeslam to a victory roll.
- Post-match, The Forgotten Sons instantly attack Tyler Breeze. Ryker looks for a powerbomb, but Fandango comes out and clears all three Sons out to the floor. Cutler tries to get back in at them and gets double superkicked out to the floor.
- Candice LeRae is seen pacing around outside the arena as she looks for Io Shirai to arrive. Last week, she attacked Shirai during her match with Kacy Catanzaro.
- Cameron Grimes defeated Bronson Reed via pinfall with a double stomp to advance to the finals of the NXT Breakout Tournament.
- Next week, TakeOver: Prime Target will take an in-depth look at the rivalry between NXT Champion Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano.
- Earlier today, Matt Riddle is asked about Killian Dain. Riddle says to make an impact why not fight him face-to-face instead of attacking him from behind. We learn they’ll battle next Wednesday.
- NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler gets to the ring with a mic in hand. She cuts a promo confirming the match at TakeOver: Toronto between her and Mia Yim. She calls her a street rat who has already lost the fight even it begins. Mia Yim comes out for a counter promo and tells Baszler that the street rat is going to take her title.
- Outside, NXT General Manager William Regal tells LeRae that he’s already told Shirai she can’t be anywhere near the building at the moment. LeRae says she wants the match at TakeOver: Toronto. Regal agrees to it.
- Next week, a contract signing segment for NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits and Kyle O’Reilly/Bobby Fish before their match at Takeover: Toronto.
- Pete Dunne defeated Roderick Strong with a submission with a finger break.
- Post-match, Velveteen Dream sneaks into the ring and looks to clock Dunne with the title. Dunne turns around and Dream just smiles at him and does nothing. Strong yells at both of them and says the title is his at TakeOver. Dream does his pose, but Dunne snaps his fingers and gives Dream a bitter end.
