Mustafa Ali Ignites Feud With Kofi Kingston, Kofi Responds
Mustafa Ali has made it clear that he does not want Kofi Kingston returning to WWE anytime soon. Kofi has replied with a passionate promo of his own.
Mustafa Ali took to Twitter to cut a promo against former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston who is currently out of action due to a jaw injury. The Leader of RETRIBUTION made it clear that his stable is after Xavier Woods(Kofi’s tag team partner) because of Kofi. Kofi Kinston has suffered a broken jaw and is currently out of action.
In his promo, Ali said, “The minute I found out that Kofi Kingston is sitting at home with a broken jaw. I knew my time for retribution has arrived. Kofi you sitting at home with a broken jaw isn’t enough. I want to break your heart. I want to break your spirit. And I’m going to do that by breaking one of the people that you love the most in the ring, over and over again.”
Ali continued and wished that Kofi sits at home injured and won’t make it to Elimination Chamber and then to WrestleMania, because then only he could feel exactly what Ali felt in 2019.
On the road to WrestleMania 35 in 2019, Mustafa Ali was set to feature in the Elimination Chamber match for WWE Championship. However, an injury meant he had to pulled out. Kofi Kingston replaced him and gave a marathon performance in a Gauntlet match, leading to start of KofiMania and Kofi winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Kofi Kingston also responded to Ali via Twitter and pointed out how Ali’s anger towards him is misguided. Kofi said “You blame for where you are in your career today because you’ve been holding on to this for like two years. Which is crazy that you’ve been holding onto this with such hate and vitriol and anger in this belief, this notion that I am responsible for taking your spot when you were the one who got hurt and all I did was fill in and go on to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.”
Kofi added that Ali is going after him instead of the person who injured him at the time(Randy Orton). He also pointed out how Ali waited until he was injured to address the issue and did not do anything when they were in the same roster for many months.
Kingston then promised that when he’s back from his broken jaw they’ll address the issue. “And we’re going to get down to the bottom of this and figure out what’s really going on. I’ll see you when I see you, Ali,” Kingston added.
