Two Title Matches & Trios Match Added to Forbidden Door PPV
AEW has announced three more matches for AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door 2022 PPV.
Newly crowned IWGP US Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay will defend the title against AEW’s Orange Cassidy.
Ospreay defeated Dax Harwood in a singles match this week on Dynamite. Ospreay’s United Empire attacked Harwood after the match, continuing their rivalry from the past few weeks. Roppongi Vice and Cash Wheeler came out to save Harwood. Shortly afterward, Orange Cassidy made his return from injury to have a face-off with Ospreay. Roppongi Vice and FTR backed Cassidy in the face-off and Ospreay slipped out. Later, AEW announced that Ospreay will defend his title against Cassidy at Forbidden Door.
#1 contender Britt Baker faced Toni Storm at this week’s Dynamite episode. After Thunder Rosa engaged Jamie Hayter and took her backstage, Storm defeated Baker by hitting Storm Zero. After the match, Rosa came out to have a face-off with Storm. Before the main event, AEW announced that Rosa will defend AEW Women’s title against Storm.
Chris Jericho interrupted Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi’s face-to-face meeting before their interim AEW World title match. Suzuki-Gun’s Lance Archer & El Desperado attacked Moxley and Tanahashi along with Jericho Appreciation Society. Jericho then went on to explain he will team up with Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki to face Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta, and Shota Umino.
Additionally, Miro has qualified for the Fatal 4-way match for the All Atlantic Championship match which already has PAC in it.
