Fyter Fest 2019 Buy-In Pre-Show
Excalibur is with Golden Boy and Jason Lama to welcome us to the show with bikini-clad girls. They run through the lineup and soon enough Private Party enter for their match. SCU are followed by Best Friends. Remember the stipulation: The winner will get a shot at bye for the first round of AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament.
Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta) defeated SoCal Uncensored (Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian) & Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen)
Frankie Kazarian and Trent Beretta are dominating Private Party in the early minutes. Scorpio Sky and Trent Beretta pick up with some pace and a quick tag to Kazarian saw Beretta being double teamed. Chuck Taylor was knocked down and Kazarian got a dropkick. Marq Quin tags in blind and run riot. He hit a springboard on Kazarian and Beretta. Isiah Cassidy hits a Plancha over the top rope and managed to take down both opposite teams. The crowd is getting behind them a bit.
SCU and Best Friends come back into the game by teaming up on the Private Party. Isiah Cassidy was double teamed by SCU while Quen is taken care on the inside by Friends. SCU tried to take out Best Friends, but they sent them out of the ring and focused on Isiah Cassidy. Beretta and Taylor hit an Ace Crusher on Cassidy for a near-fall. Cassidy is isolated in the corner of Best Friends. They wore him down and hit him with a Sole Food.
He finally tried to break free to Marq Quen. Beretta took out Quen, so Cassidy tagged in Scorpio Sky and SCU takes over the ring. Kazarian hits Cassidy with a Springboard. Sky then looks to get the win but Beretta took out Kazarian. Kazarian is then knocked out by Marq Quen. Quen hit a 450 for a near-fall. SCU gets back in the match and Isiah Cassidy starts brawling with them. SCU hits the Unprettier on him for a nearfall.
Marq Quen was looking for a Superplex on Kazarian, but Beretta hits him with a German Suplex from the top rope. However, he lands on his feet. Quen takes out Beretta while Cassidy takes out Kazarian. Kazarian was getting pinned but Sky breaks it up. Chuck Taylor sends Marq Quen out of the ring onto Scorpio Sky. Best Friends isolates Isiah Cassidy and hits him with the Strong Zero for the win.
The Dark Order comes on screen after the match and tells Best Friends that they have selected them as their first. Lights go off and they are surrounding the ring when it comes back. But before any action could start, lights go off again and they disappear.
Backstage, Matt and Nick Jackson are worried about the show. They say they are bleeding money and it’s too bad they couldn’t make a documentary about what’s going on.(A play on the failed Fyre Festival). They realize the cameras watching them and then talk about all the things going wrong with the show: bad food, no tents, kiddie pools. Kenny Omega appears. The Young Bucks tell him that they don’t even have their gear. Omega says they have new gear on the way this second and it will all work out. Matt says their new gear has blew through half of their budget and so, they can’t afford half the models on the stage. Two are taken to the back and two mannequins in bikinis are put in their place.
Allie defeated Leva Bates(w/ Peter Avalon)
“The Librarians” Leva Bates and Peter Avalon are on the stage now. Avalon was hanging out in one of the tents. They start to argue. Avalon suddenly throws one of the tents into the pool and then destroys one of the mannequins. Bates says she knows there are a lot of gamers here, but there’s so much more out there at their fingertips, inside a book.
Crowd boos and chants “we can’t read!” Avalon and Bates got into a shush-off before Allie’s music hit and she comes out to the ring. Earlier, Kylie Rae was advertised for this, but I guess, AEW decided to give the debut to Allie before her match against Brandi Rhodes at Fight for the Fallen.
The match starts and Allie stomps on Bates’ fingers. Bates moves out of the ring and comes back with better control. She keeps control for some time, but Allie comes back with a clothesline. Peter Avalon stopped Allie from rushing at Bates, trying to trip her. Bates hits Allie with a Fisherman Suplex. She then follows it up with a Northern Lights Suplex. After a couple of tough strikes, Bates rolled through and locked in the arms. Allie finally comes back into the match with chops to Bates.
Bates returns the favor with the knee strikes to Allie in the corner. Allie reverses a suplex attempt with a Hangman Neckbreaker and starts to gather momentum. She hits two clotheslines and then hits a Sliding Elbow Strike to the throat in the corner for a near-fall. She picks up Bates, but Bates catches her with a Backstabber. She follows it up with a double under hook pedigree. Peter Avalon caused a distraction trying to help Leva Bates, but it was Allie who took advantage. Allie hits a Superkick for the win.
Kenny Omega is helping out musical acts to get their things. Brandon Cutler stops him and says he doesn’t need to do that, all the bands are gone. Omega looks really worried, tells the cameraman to turn the camera off.
Michael Nakazawa defeated Alex Jebailey in a Hardcore Match
Nakazawa on the mic before things get going. He says Jebailey cheated to win last year and that’s why CEO sucks. Nakazawa says that Jebailey has injured his right leg, Jebailey corrects him that it’s his left leg. Nakazawa thanks him for the info and kicks at the leg. But Jebailey comes back with a Hip Toss. He then hits Michael Nakazawa with a Scoop Slam. Jebailey has the Belly to Back Suplex locked in but Nakazawa escapes with Baby Oil. Jebailey slips on the oil and so does the referee. Nakazawa hits a stomp into a Senton.
Jebailey takes advantage of the hardcore rules of the match to hit Nakazawa with a Clipboard and then a CEO branded game. The two go to the pool next to the entrance ramp where Jebailey almost drowns Nakazawa. Jebailey puts Nakazawa into the pool with a powerslam and then brings him into the ring. He brings in Kendo Sticks and a table. Michael Nakazawa uses the wire of a gaming controller to attempt to strangle Alex Jebailey. Nakazawa sends Jebailey off the apron onto and through the table. He brings him back into the ring and starts to hit him with the Kendo Stick.
Nakazawa takes out his thong from his trunks and goes for the Mandible Claw with the thong. Alex Jebailey manages to hit Nakazawa with a German Suplex on top of his head. Jebailey brings out CEO branded legos. He dumps Nakazawa onto the legos with a back body drop. Jebailey hits Nakazawa with the Kendo Stick. Nakazawa tries to get back into the match but accidentally hits the mandible claw on the referee. Jebailey hits a low blow and rolled him up for the near win, but the referee was distracted. Instead, Nakazawa gets the Crucifix for the win.
Jim Ross makes his way to the commentary table before the pre-show ends.
Fyter Fest 2019 Main Show
The show opens with the highlights from Double or Nothing before the commentary team recaps today’s line-up. Christopher Daniels makes his way to open the show once again at AEW.
CIMA defeated Christopher Daniels
They counter each other’s moves to start but CIMA gets the upper hand hitting the Drop Kick followed by a Baseball Slide to the outside. He hits a Rolling Senton on Christopher Daniels. He hooks Daniels but Daniels manages to reach the ropes. Daniels gets back the moment by hitting CIMA with several scoop slams as well as a bigger German Suplex on the outside.
Back in the ring, Cima puts some pressure on Daniels’ ribs until the referee forces the break. Daniels comes back with a backbreaker and takes the action outside. After crashing Cima on the apron, he hits a northern light suplex on the floor. A couple of scoop slams is followed when they get back in the ring. He gets two-count after a leg sweep and sends Cima to the turnbuckle. A couple of suplexes follows as Daniels is keeping the pressure on.
Cima strikes back and hits backstabber. A venus hammer and falcon arrow follow. He goes for the driver but his back gives up. Daniels takes advantage of it to hit the blue thunder bomb. The rock-bottom is countered with an enziguri before they end up at the top turnbuckle. Cima hits the sunset flip powerbomb from there and follows it up with the driver, only to get a near fall. He power-slams Daniels again and hits the Meteora from the top to finally get the win.
Riho beats Nyla Rose and Yuka Sakazaki in a Triple Threat Match
Nyla Rose sends both the opponents to the turnbuckle to start the match. She goes for the double running body splash but both Yuka and Riho sidestep. Yuza and Riho try to double team on Nyla again and again but Nyla uses her power to keep the upper hand. She puts them in the double camel clutch and Yuka reaches the ropes to break the hold. Rose hits a suplex on Riho and drops Yuka on her. Yuka finally takes her down with the scissor takedown to send her out. She follows it up with a suicide dive.
Yuka brings back Riho into the ring to hit a dropkick to get a near-fall. Riho also counters her with some high flying moves and stomps on her gut. Nyla comes back in the ring and eats a knee from Riho. She then sends her to the ropes to hit 619. Both Yuka and Riho hits the crossbody splashes on Nyla. They started to focus on each other until Nyla Rose gets back into the match taking out Riho and focuses on Sakazaki. However, Sakazaki tries to bring her down raining fists on her. Rose reverses with a Sidewalk Slam for a near-fall.
Nyla hits a vertical suplex on Yuka and she has to roll out for a breather. Nyla then drops Riho on the ropes and hits a knee drop off the top as Riho was still on the ropes. She sets up Riho for the senton but nobody is home. She catches both Yuka and Riho as they try to hit the moves off the top. They manage to roll her up for the pin but could only get two-count. Yuka goes for a Splash on Riho, but Riho gets her legs up.
A release German suplex from Nyla follows by a powerbomb. Nyla goes for the pin which is broken by Riho and then Yuka goes for the pin only to broken by Riho again. Nyla hits the move to get the near-fall. Nyla goes for the powerbomb on Riho but she counters and rolls up to get the pin out of nowhere.
Nyla Rose attacks Riho from behind, but Yuka Sakazaki and Riho attack Nyla Rose together and manage to take her out of the ring.
MJF enters first and takes the mic. Even before he could start his promo, the boos start. He starts mocking the nerds and carries on for some time. Jungle Boy enters on Luchasaurus’ and Jimmy Havoc enters before Adam Page enters to a lukewarm response.
Adam “Hangman” Page defeated Jungle Boy vs MJF vs Jimmy Havoc in a Fatal 4-Way match
Adam Page and Havoc go after each other while MJF batters Jungle Boy. Page and Jungle Boy send their opponents outside and face each other. Hangman Page knocks out Jungle Boy with a Mule Kick. JB comes back with an arm drag and a hurricanrana takes Page out of the ring. Havoc return to the ring and strikes JB with a dropkick and the falcon arrow but the pin is broken by MJF.
Page scoops MJF for the alabama slam but he uses ropes to move out. Page hits the Fallaway Slam on Jungle Boy followed by a Plancha on MJF before being taken out by Havoc’s suicide dive. MJF sends Jungle Boy out but won’t go for the suicide dive. Jungle Boy gets back to hit the dropkick before hitting the moonsault dive on everyone outside the ring.
Jungle Boy and MJF go at it in the corner of the ring. Jungle Boy uses his speed to hit a leverage Powerbomb. Jimmy Havoc hits an Uppercut on Jungle Boy and goes for a Superplex. Page comes in and takes them down in a Tower of Doom where Jungle Boy lands on MJF. Jungle Boy ducks an Acid Rainmaker and hits a Hurricanrana on Havoc.
Page hits him with a Powerbomb but MJF hits him with a move as well. Page takes out Jungle Boy again, but MJF breaks up the pin. Havoc hits the German Suplex on Adam Page. MJF takes down Havoc and goes for the pin, but this time it is Page breaking up the pin. Page and MJF brawl in the middle of the ring. Page spits on MJF, but MJF takes out the left knee of Adam Page. He locks in the Figure Four. But Page breaks out of it and locks in the Sharpshooter. MJF struggles and reaches the ropes.
Jimmy Havoc tosses Jungle Boy on to Luchasaurus who had accompanied Jungle Boy to the ring. He hits the Double Stomps on MJF for a near-fall before going for another Acid Rainmaker. MJF avoids it before Adam Page comes in and sends MJF to the outside with the buckshot lariat. Page hits the Deadeye on Jimmy Havoc to win the match.
Post-match, Page and MJF yell at each other as MJF heads to the back.
Cody Rhodes vs Dabry Allin Ends In a Draw after 20 Minutes Time Limit
Allin using his agility early on to avoid and frustrated Cody who has a decisive size advantage on his opponent. Cody goes for the single leg, but Allin gets to the ropes. He then gets a headlock takeover to the mat on Allin. Allin looks for the arm drag, Cody easily blocks it, Allin then leaps up to the top rope and hits a massive arm drag that sends Cody out to the floor. Allin beckons him back in as Cody checks out the body bag.
Cody finally slows Allin down with a punch to the face. Cody tries to yank him out of the corner, Allin block it, Cody drops down and punches him. He ends up throwing Allin into the corner and Allin ended up going through the middle and top rope all the way to the floor! Cody with some push-ups as he waits for Allin.
Allin drives Cody’s left hand into the ring post. Cody gets a Double Underhook lock but his hand is hurt. Cody is back in control now. He is going for a Vertical Suplex, but no! He takes advantage of Cody’s injured left hand to escape. He sits on the hand and wrenches on the wrist badly. Cody escapes and goes outside. Allin hits a Suicide Dive on him.
Allin was about to stomp on Cody’s finger on the steps, but Cody simply moves his hand away and drops Allin on the steps. He hits the Suicide Dive on Allin. They get back in the ring and Allin hits the Shotgun Dropkick followed by the Yoshi Tonic. Allin goes to the top rope, but Cody follows him there and hits the reverse Superplex.
Cody and Darby Allin stand on the apron, but Allin bites his hand. Allin goes to the top rope and goes for the back elbow Coffin Drop on Cody who was on the apron. Cody moves out of the way, and Allin drops back-first on the apron. Allin had brought a body bag but it is Cody who zips him up in it. He hits the Disaster Kick and then drags him out for a near fall. There are only 30 seconds left in the 20 minutes time limit.
Cody hits Darby with the belt. Cody went for the Cross Rhodes, but Darby hits a Stunner. Cody hits the Cross Rhodes finally. He pins him, but the time is over. Cody asks to add 5 minutes to the match but Shawn Spears comes out and hits him with the chair. Spears was about to take out more punishment but Brandi berated him and he leaves through the crowd. Cody is bleeding at the back of his head. MJF and SCU come out to help Cody get back.
The Elites(Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) defeated Lucha Brothers(Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr.) and Laredo Kid
Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks pay tribute to the Street Fighter game with their ring gear and entrances. Nick Jackson and Laredo Kid start the match and show off their ability to flip. Laredo Kid hits a kick to the face and then the two reverse each move of the other. All six men enter the ring to face off. Luchas take out The Elite with the tandem offences and dive to the outside to flatten the opponents. They hit a Superkick and Hurrincanrana Combination on Matt Jackson.
Nick sends Fenix out but Laredo Kid takes him out. He hits him with two Split Legged Springboard Moonsaults but Nick kicks out. Nick finally takes matters into his hands and rolls out both Lucha Brothers. Matt Jackson comes in and hits a Double Northern Lights Suplex on Lucha Brothers. Kenny Omega throws Lucha Brothers out and slaps Laredo Kid across the chest followed by an elbow strike. He hits him with a backbreaker to get a near-fall.
Laredo Kid reverses and hits a neckbreaker. He goes to the top rope and dives, but Kenny Omega hits him with a Dropkick. Kenny Omega goes for the dive, but Pentagon stops him. The two face off in the ring. Pentagon gets in the face of Kenny Omega. The two brawl in the middle of the ring and Pentagon gets the better of it with a slap to the chest of Kenny Omega.
Fenix hits the Enzuigiri on Omega and the Elite gain control as the Young Bucks come in and take control. They hit Laredo Kid with a series of moves, including the German Suplex. Omega hits the Kamikaze followed by the Moonsault. The Young Bucks hit him with an Elbow Drop and a Senton Atomico.
Laredo Kid reverses a move by Nick Jackson and hits Matt with a Hurricanrana which sends him into his brother in a Spear. Fenix hits Omega with a Hurricanrana on the outside and Laredo Kid hits the Tope Suicida on Nick Jackson. Pentagon hits the Double Stomp on Matt Jackson for a near fall. Matt Jackson gains momentum back and hits Pentagon with a Destroyer and then a Spear.
Omega comes in and takes out Laredo Kid and Fenix. He hits the Snap Dragon Suplexes on all three opponents. Pentagon hits him with a kick while Omega is on the top rope. Penta then launches Fenix into Nick Jackson. Laredo Kid almost got Omega, while Pentagon hits Matt Jackson with a Canadian Destroyer. The Elite stand tall as they get ready and try to hit their opponents with a triple Superkick. Instead, the Lucha Brothers and Laredo Kid hit it.
Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks stop the Lucha Brothers in their tracks with Triple Hadukens. Kenny Omega and Matt Jackson hang up their opponents as Nick Jackson hits a double 450 Splash, but Pentagon comes in and breaks up the pin. Kenny Omega hits the V-Trigger on Laredo Kid. Fenix hits the Cutter on Omega, and Nick Jackson hits the Cutter on Fenix.
The Young Bucks try a Swan Diving Meltzer Driver, but things go very wrong. Fenix hits the Spanish Fly with Nick to the outside. Kenny hits the Knee and then the Tiger Driver on Laredo Kid but he kicks out. Kenny finally hits Laredo Kid with the One-Winged Angel to get the win.
Roberts takes the mic in the center and announces that AEW Fyter Fest is done here. The lights will go off and when they will come on again, there will be another match which is not sanctioned from AEW. No time limit, no restrictions, no count outs, no disqualification. Joey Janela enters first before the man of the hour, Jon Moxley comes out to a thunderous response.
Jon Moxley defeated Joey Janela in a Non-Sanctioned Match
They mock each other before the match. Janela pushes Moz to the ropes. Moxley comes back with some chops but Janela sends him outside the ring and hits the suicide dive. The action moves into the crowd. They trade some strikes before returning to the ringside. Janela sends Mox to the ring post before taking out the table and sets it up. He uses the prosthetic leg to hit Mox with it.
Moz also brings out a chair and body slams Janela on it. Janela hits some forearms and sets up Mox on the chair. As he goes for the 450 splash, Mox moves away. Mox takes out a barbed wire chair. He body slams Janela before slamming the chair on him. As he goes to the top, Janela hits an enziguri and tosses him to the barbed wire chair.
Janela sets up a table inside the ring now. But Moxley picks him up. As Janela avoids the move, Mox’ Russian leg sweep takes both of them through the table set up at the ringside. Back in the ring, Mox spears Janela through the table set up inside the ring. He sets more table at the ringside when Janela starts mocking him. Moxley rains in punches on him and brings out a barbed wire board. Janela turns the tables and sends Moxley through it.
Moxley recovers soon enough to turn Janela inside out with a clothesline. He tries to send Janela through the tables set up outside the ring but Janela superkicks him twice. Janela now brings out a ladder. They move out and Janela thrashes Mox’s face on the steel steps again and again. Mox is set up on the table and Janela hits the elbow drop on him from the top of the ladder.
Janela now sets up another barbed wire board on the barricade and apron. But he runs into a DDT before being send through the barbed wire board with an F5. Janela is brought back into the ring and is now rained by knee strikes on his face. Now, thumb tacks are brought out. Moxley removes Janela’s shoes and socks and drops him over the tacs.
Janela is screaming in pain but is not letting go off his attitude. He is still showing the middle finger to Mox which infuriates him more. Moz throws more tacks in the ring and hits the Death Rider on them to get the pin. Tacs are stuck on Moxley back and all over Janela. It was a gruesome match.
And this time it’s Kenny Omega’s turn for the post-match beatdown to take revenge for Double or Nothing. He runs in to hit the V-Trigger and then stomps on Moxley with him under the table. He beats him near the ramp before hitting him with a guitar on the back. Omega is sent back and Moxley is helped out by the referees to return. He throws away the referees and Omega returns with a trash can. Omega hits him with the can and then hits a Double Arm DDT on the can. The show ends with Moxley still smiling sadistically.
