Forbidden Door 2023: Kazuchika Okada Accepts Bryan Danielson’s Challenge

Kazuchika Okada vs Bryan Danielson

Kazuchika Okada has accepted the challenge made by Bryan Danielson for AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 PPV.

Okada was in action at NJPW Dominion 6.4 today where he teamed up with Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii to defend NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Championship. They defeated Shota Umino and Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli.

Following their defeat, Moxley said that Okada believes that he was the best, but that was not true since they train with the best every day. Moxley then told Okada that they had a special message for Okada from someone. The message was from none other than Moxley’s BCC teammate Bryan Danielson.

Bryan’s video appeared on the big screen where he was seen in a dessert. Bryan said that for the last 10 years he had heard people talk about how great Okada has been, and how he has been the best wrestler of this generation. He had also heard in interviews that Okada wanted to wrestle him. Bryan added that Okada has been good, but Bryan has been the litmus test of great.

Bryan said that Okada calls himself the rainmaker but if he got into the ring with Bryan, he would be stepping into a f##king desert, and there wasn’t going to be any rain. Okada responded immediately to this message and said Forbidden Door was just kicked open.

Okada was referring to Forbidden Door 2023 PPV which is a joint PPV event from NJPW and AEW. The event takes place on June 25, 2023, and will feature several cross-promotional matches just like last year’s event. This is the first match to be confirmed. A rematch between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay is also expected for the event for IWGP US Heavyweight Championship.
