Finn Balor will now be facing Matt Riddle at NXT TakeOver WarGames 2019 on 23 November 2019 after their altercation this week at NXT.
Last week, Finn Balor came out during the main event match between The OC & the team of Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee and Matt Riddle. Balor went on to take down Riddle with a 1916 DDT on the steel ramp and even teased the Bullet Club reunion.
This week, Finn Balor came out to cut a promo with the focus light on him. He wondered what has happened to the brand that he made on his back. He called out Gargano for being a weakling. He also trashed Riddle saying that he is still feeling the effects of last week’s attack. At this point, Matt Riddle came from behind and attacked Balor. Two of them went back and forth during their brawl. But Riddle was able to force Balor to run away.
However, Riddle was soon surrounded by the Undisputed ERA. As Ciampa and Keith Lee came out to save him, the segment led to a match between Roderick Strong and Keith Lee. During the match, the Undisputed ERA tried to interfere which led to another brawl between the two teams for the WarGames match. Finn Balor also got involved and laid out Riddle with a dropkick from behind. As the Undisputed ERA was looking to get the upper hand, Dominic Dijakovic made the save.
Later, NXT’s Cathy Kelly broke the news that Finn Balor vs Matt Riddle is announced for NXT TakeOver WarGames 2019 by NXT General Manager William Regal. Also, Dominic Dijakovic will replace Riddle in the Men’s WarGames match.
Earlier, it was looking like Balor will be facing Johnny Gargano at TakeOver: WarGames. But Gargano is ruled out of Survivor Series weekend altogether. Balor turned on Gargano last month to send the shock waves around the wrestling community.
