CM Punk Teased For AEW Rampage: The First Dance in Chicago
AEW has announced that United Center in Chicago will host the 20th August 2021 episode of AEW Rampage.
AEW Rampage will start airing on TNT from 13 August from 10 PM EST onwards. The first episode of the one-hour weekly show will air from Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
During Fight for the Fallen 2021 on Wednesday, AEW announced AEW Rampage: The First Dance special at United Center in Chicago. The stadium is home to NBA’s Chicago Bulls and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and has a capacity of 20,000+ crowd. AEW will hold AEW Dynamite on 1 September, AEW Rampage on 3 August and AEW All Out 2021 on 5 August at Now Arena in Chicago Suburb.
After the announcement, the crowd at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC started chanting for CM Punk. Punk, a Chicago native, has been rumored to have finally signed a deal with AEW. He is expected to make his debut on this show.
Darby Allin also teased CM Punk during his interview after the announcement. Allin said he has been around a lot of people who say they are the greatest ever in wrestling, but the only place to prove it is AEW even if you think you’re the best in the world. This is a reference to CM Punk’s “Best in the World” catchphrase.
