SCU Tricks Jericho Into Defending AEW Title at Sears Center
AEW World Champion Chris Jericho will defend his title against Scorpio Sky at the AEW Dynamite episode at Sears Center in Chicago, IL.
Last week on Dynamite, Scorpio Sky inflicted Chris Jericho’s first defeat under the AEW banner. Le Champion definitely lost his mind after the loss and, in his own words, destroyed a bunch of stuff at ringside. AEW tweeted that Chris Jericho will make a big announcement on AEW Dynamite this week.
Jericho came out with Jake Hager tried to apologize for what he did, but had some trouble. So, whenever he was required to say the word ‘sorry’, Jake Hager was doing it for him instead. And ironically, it was the most Hager has spoken on a single day at Dynamite. Jericho then announced that next week in Chicago, he will finally get the “thank you” he deserves from everyone at “Chris Jericho’s Thanksgiving Thank You Celebration.”
Scorpio Sky and his SCU crew interrupted Jericho and started playing the game of reverse psychology. Sky told Jericho how big of a moment was it for him to pin the World Champion and his phone blew up. Jericho replied that Sky is not in his league and he will some that to him in a one-on-one match.
When Christopher Daniels told Jericho that Sky would need one month for preparation, Jericho booked the match for next week. Frankie Kazarian chimed in and told Sky to make sure that the match will be a non-title match. Jericho got hooked into the game and put his title on the line.
This was followed by a customary brawl where the whole of Inner Circle, SCU and then Jurrasic Express got involved. In the end, Jake Hager and Luchasaurus teased a fight but Hager backed away a few moments later.
Next week’s AEW Dynamite will air from Sears Center, Chicago as the Thanksgiving special episode. 3 Matches are already announced for the show while the AEW Women’s Championship match is also expected to be added.
