Big Matches Set for WWE Smackdown Jan 5 New Year’s Revolution
WWE has announced three matches for WWE Smackdown New Year’s Revolution special on January 5, 2024.
We will find a new contender for Universal Championship as well as for United States Championship. Apart from this, Iyo Sky is set to defend WWE Women’s Championship against Michin’ in a singles match.
Michin teamed up with Bianca Belair, Shotzi and Zelina Vega in a Holiday Havoc match on Smackdown this week. Michin pinned Sky after hitting Eat Defeat and an elbow drop to put her through the table to get the win for her team. She has got this title match courtesy of that pinfall.
Kevin Owens defeated Carmelo Hayes in the semifinal of United States title #1 contender tournament to make his way to the final. He will face Santos Escobar who defeated Bobby Lashley in the other semifinal. Escobar got an assist from Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza, who attacked The Street Profits on the floor to cause a distraction.
Lastly, Nick Aldis has announced a triple threat match between Randy Orton, LA Knight and AJ Styles to find the #1 contender for Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to face Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2024.
All three men has history with The Bloodline and stacked their claim to get their hands on Roman Reigns.
