AEW Dynamite December 27: MJF in Action, Continental Classic Semifinal Set

Two matches are revealed for AEW Dynamite December 27, 2023 New Year’s Smash special episode.

The Gold League semifinal of Continental Classic 2023 will take place on the show. Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland and Jay White ended up at 12 points in a three-way tie at the top of Gold League. These three men will now clash in the semifinal next week.

Swerve defeated White on Dynamite two weeks back. Moxley had defeated Swerve last week on Dynamite. White defeated Moxley on this week’s Dynamite to complete this circle. With wins over one another, the head-to-head tie-breakers also failed to determine the top two wrestlers from the group.

MJF and Samoa Joe will defend ROH Tag Team Championship against The Devil’s team on Dynamite next week. MJF returned to the show this week, but got confronted by Samoa Joe, who questioned if MJF himself is the Devil. As they were about to fight, A group of masked men attacked them.

After Joe and MJF parried this attack, The Devil appeared on the big screen before his message challenging MJF for ROG Tag titles flashed on the screen. MJF then asked Joe if he would partner with him once again. Joe, angry at being attacked, accepted the offer.

MJF and Joe are set to clash at AEW Worlds End PPV. December 27 Dynamite will also act as the go-home show for the PPV. The episode will also feature Blue League semifinal from Continental Classic 2023 which will be decided after matches on Collision this week. The current line-up for the show is as below:

  • Jay White vs Swerve Strickland vs Jon Moxley – Gold League Semifinal from Continental Classic
  • TBA vs TBA – Blue League semifinal from Continental Classic
  • MJF & Samoa Joe(c) vs The Devil’s Goons – ROH Tag Team Championship
