Big E vs Apollo Crews match is fixed for Fastlane 2021, WWE has announced via social media.
Last night, WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E returned to SmackDown after three weeks. He called out Apollo Crews to come out and face him. Big E even said he is ready to give Apollo a title shot at Fastlane. When his call went unanswered, Big E threw an open challenge.
Sami Zayn and King Corbin got into a brief argument over who is going to face Big E for the IC title. Zayn entered the ring and faced the champion’s wrath before the opening bell. The match went back and forth for a while before Big E finished off Zayn with the Big Ending.
Apollo Crews attacked the New Day Powerhouse after the match and once again left him in a dire state. Crews did a similar thing three weeks back when he turned heel and attacked Shinsuke Nakamura and Big E.
After the show got over, WWE announced that Big E will defend the title against Apollo Crews at Fastlane 2021. This is the third match to be announced for the show which takes place next Sunday on 21 March 2021.
Crews vs Big E match was earlier expected to take place at WrestleMania 37. There is no word if WWE is planning to take this feud forward until the Grandest Stage of Them All. It might be possible that WWE books a controversial finish at Fastlane and do a rematch at WrestleMania.
