Becky Lynch Returns At WWE SummerSlam, Wins SmackDown Women’s Title
“The Man” Becky Lynch finally made her long-awaited return at WWE SummerSlam 2021 PPV.
Bianca Belair was supposed to face Sasha Banks at the event. But after Bianca came out, it was announced that Sasha Banks wouldn’t be able to compete tonight and will be replaced by Carmella.
However, right after that Becky’s entrance music hits and she receives one of the loudest pops of the night as she walks towards the ring. Becky Lynch didn’t waste any time and attacked Carmella so that she couldn’t compete either. After taking out Carmella, Becky laid a challenge to Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship match that she accepted.
The bell rings and The Man offered a handshake to Bianca. Becky delivered a punch and then hit Bianca with the Manhandle Slam to get the victory and become the new smackDown Women’s Champion. The match ended in a flash and it shocked Bianca Belair as well as the fans in the stadium.
Becky Lynch left WWE in May 2020 after her pregnancy was revealed. She dropped the RAW Women’s Title and handed it to Asuka(Money in the Bank 2020 winner). Becky gave birth to a baby girl in December 2020 and the speculations of Becky’s return started as far back as Royal Rumble this year.
There were some speculations that Becky Lynch will return to Raw itself. But it won’t be the case as she has become the champion for the blue brand. This is fifth Women’s title for Becky. She was the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion, crowned in 2016.
