AEW Dynamite Road Rager 2021 Live Results 7 July 2021

Welcome to the live blog for AEW Dynamite special Road Rager 2021 event, which will mark the resumption of touring for AEW.

A packed card is announced for the show with AEW World Tag Team Championship Street Fight being the likely main event. Andrade’s AEW in-ring debut and a strap match between Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall are the other attractions. A 6-man tag team match and a mixed tag team match involving Orange Cassidy is on the cards. A big segment is also announced as MJF and Chris Jericho will come face to face where MJF will present the terms to set up their singles match for a future date.

AEW Road Rager 2021 Quick Results

• Cody Rhodes defeated QT Marshall in a Strap match.
• Wardlow, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood defeated Jake Hager, Santana & Ortiz in a tag team match via pinfall.
• Andrade El Idolo defeated Matt Sydal in a singles match via pinfall.
• Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander defeated The Blade & The Bunny in a Mixed Tag Team match via pinfall.
• The Young Bucks(Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) defeated Eddie Kingston & Penta via pinfall to win a Street Fight to retain AEW World Tag Team Championship.

Cody Rhodes vs QT Marshall – Strap Match

Jim Ross welcomes us to the show. Cody makes his entrance for the match. QT Marshall is already in the ring. Cody removes his belt and gives it to a fan in the front row. Cody gets to the ring and taunts QT. Cody hits a tope suicida as QT goes to the floor before the match. They are back to the ring and the match starts. Cody with his signature drop-down and uppercut sequence.

Cody lands some shots before choking Marshall with the strap. Marshall looks for the diamond cutter but Cody avoids it. Cody looks for a moonsault but QT hits him with the strap. Solow smacks Cody from behind as he goes to tap his third turnbuckle. Dustin Rhodes runs out to the ring and tosses Solow into the front row. Comoroto chases after the two as they go up into the crowd. Cody is looking at the brawl and QT pulls the strap when it was in between Cody’s leg, in a low blow.

QT slams the strap a few times and goes to tag the posts. Cody is also tagging each post behind him. Cody tries to counter at the last corner but they end up in the middle of the ring. QT tries to pull Cody into the ring post using the strap, but Cody resists and pulls QT into the post instead. QT is bleeding now. Cody remains in control for a while. He tries to hit headscissors from the top but QT counters to hit the avalanche powerbomb. QT hits a Diamond cutter with Cody at the top. Cody stops QT from tagging the last corner. QT goes to slam him with the strap a few more times.

Cody gets hyped up and then runs rampant with back to back quick moves. Cody goes to tag the corners but QT stops him at the last one and spits on him. Cody hits two crossroads in quick succession and goes to tag all four corners to win the match.

Winner – Cody Rhodes

Don Callis walks out with Kenny Omega for an interview with Tony Schiavone. Callis insults Tony and sends him out. Callis goes on and talks about Kenny Omega’s run as the champion. Callis says Omega has pinned everyone and that has created a problem. Omega is without a challenger for Fight for the Fallen. The crowd breaks into a chant for Hangman Page. Dark Order makes their entrance. Evil Uno enters the ring while the others stand on the stage. Uno says why Omega is ignoring the #1 ranked wrestler Adam “Hangman” Page.

“Cowboy Shit” chants break out. Omega takes a low blow on Evil Uno. The Good Brothers and other Elite members attack the rest of the Dark Order. Hangman Page runs out and clears the ring. Only Omega is left in the ring. Page and Omega get in a face-off and the crowd is hot. They were about to get into a brawl. Karl Anderson hits the apron which gives Omega an opening to run away.

Jake Hager, Santana & Ortiz vs Wardlow, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood

Santana starts with a takedown against Harwood. Santana keeps the control and goes on to hit Three Amigos suplex. Ortiz tags in and Harwood takes him down to tag in Wheeler. Wardlow comes in and hits a gutwrench Powerbomb. Harwood goes for the slingshot suplex but Ortiz counters to take Harwood down. Hager tags in and drops Wardlow from the apron. Hager hits a Hager bomb on Harwood. Wheeler runs in, only to be sent out of the ring with a clothesline. Hager sends Harwood out with another clothesline. We go to a break.

Santana hits a cutter as we return. Ortiz tags in for some quick moves. Hager tags in for some trios attack and Wardlow had to break the pin. Wheeler and Harwood go to work as a team for a pin attempt on Ortiz. Ortiz hits a brainbuster. Hager tags in and drops Wardlow again. Hager catches Wheeler’s leg for an ankle lock. Harwood attacks Hager from behind. Hager gets better of the FTR and calls for Wardlow to get into the ring.
