AEW presented Dynamite episode of January 24, 2024, from Savannah, GA, which was Dynamite episode number 225. The show featured several first time singles matches starting with Minoru Suzuki vs Adam Copeland.

Hangman Adam Page faced Penta El Zero Meido while Swerve Strickland took on Jeff Hardy. Wardlow faced Trent Baretta. Thunder Rosa returned to Dynamite for singles action to face Red Velvet. We heard from Darby Allin and Sting on road to AEW Revolution 2024.

AEW Trios title match saw The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn facing Brian Cage & Gates of Agony. Check below for the complete results from AEW Dynamite January 24, 2024 episode.

RESULTS & UPDATES


AEW World Champion Samoa Joe came out to open the show. He once again said that the title shots would not be granted easily and told everyone to start fighting for it. Hook came out and hugged him, saying he respected Joe. Joe told him the security to get Hook out of the ring since he had already beaten him. Security tried to tell Hook to get out after Joe left the ring, but Hook hit them with T-bone suplexes. Hook ultimately left.

Hangman Adam Page defeated Penta El Zero Meido in a singles match. Penta countered Buckshot Lariat once, before Page hit a Dead Eye on the apron and a moonsault on the floor. Page got the pinfall after a Buckshot Lariat. Samoa Joe was on the commentary during this match. Page stared him down after the match.

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy was interviewed backstage where he said he would face Roderick Strong at Revolution, but would also continue to defend the title until then against different opponents.

The Young Bucks were getting into the arena when Alex Marvez caught up with them for an interview. They said they want more respect by being called by their passport names – Matthew and Nicolas. They add that they fixed the catering problem. They bump into Top Flight and ask them why they were just turning up then and told them that they would fine them next time.

Wardlow defeated Trent Beretta in a singles match. Wardlow controlled the match from the start. Beretta used a low bridge to send him to the floor, but Wardlow caught him with a punch mid-air heading into the break. Beretta showed some fire after the match, but Wardlow cut him off ultimately and dropped him with a big powerbomb to get the pinfall.

Orange Cassidy, Rocky Romero and Chuck Taylor were ringside for Beretta while The Undisputed Kingdom were in Wardlow’s corner. The UK asked Wardlow to leave the ring when Cassidy was checking on Beretta after the match.

Renee Paquette brought out Deonna Purrazzo and AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm to the stage for a face-to-face. Toni said Purrazzo couldn’t just waltz in here and use their friendship to get a title shot. Purrazzo replied that she came here to be champion, and it just so happened the champion used to be her friend. Purrazzo also said that she wanted the real Storm who was one of the best in the ring, and not this delusional sham. Purrazzo also showed their identical tattoos, but Storm said she could blow her tattoo out of her bumhole. Storm threw a shoe at Purrazzo. Purrazzo tried to attack Storm, but Mariah May saved her. Storm’s butler also saved her from a running knee strike from Purrazzo.

Swerve Strickland defeated Jeff Hardy in a singles match. The match was full of spots with both fighting hard. Swerve hit House Call on Hardy, but Hardy was able to kick out of the pin. Swerve then countered Hardy with a Flatliner before hitting a suplex and Swerve stomp to get the pinfall.

Hangman Adam Page was getting interviewed backstage after the break where Renee was discussing his 3-0 record in 2024 and upcoming rankings. Swerve Strickland came in and bragged about beating Page. Page got agitated before Renee told them that they would choose each others’ matches for next week’s Dynamite.

Thunder Rosa defeated Red Velvet in a singles match. After back and forth action, Rosa hit Tijuana Bomb to get the pinfall.

Tony Schiavone brought out Sting and Darby Allin to the ring. Darby talked about Sting’s influence in his career before talking about how they are unbeaten as a tag team, and this means that they would be the #1 contenders for tag team titles when the rankings would come out. He asked Sting if they should go for the titles. Sting screamed in agreement.

The Acclaimed(Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) & Billy Gunn defeated Brian Cage & Gates of Agony(Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) to retain AEW Trios Championship. Prince Nana threw in a steel chair and distracted the referee. Jay White snatched the chair out of the ring before The Gunns put Nana through a table with a powerbomb. Cage was hit with a bulldog by Caster and Liona was hit with Shatter Machine by The Acclaimed. All 3 men hit their finishers on Kaun before Gunn pinned him.

We got another video package for Serena Debb who will return at Collision this week.

Adam Copeland defeated Minoru Suzuki in a singles match. Copeland ended up removing one turnbuckle as he was trying to get out of a hold. Copeland hit a spear but Suzuki kicked out of the pin. Suzuki put Copeland in a rear naked choke and in an attempt to break free, Copeland ended up sending Suzuki into the exposed turnbuckle. Copeland then hit killswitch to get the pinfall.

After the match, Suzuki refused to shake hands with Copeland. Christian Cage was watching this match from backstage.
