Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Collision October 14, 2023 episode which continued the build-up towards Full Gear 2023 PPV event,
4 matches and two segments were announced for the show. Bryan Danielson was challenging for AEW TNT Championship against Christian Cage after beating Swerve Strickland on Dynamite this week. How did Cage get past Bryan?
TBS Women’s Championship was also on the line as Kris Statlander took on rising star Skye Blue. Samoa Joe returned to AEW for the first time since losing to MJF at Grand Slam. He defended ROH TV title against Willie Mack. Tune in below for the results.
Adam Copeland Opens
Adam Copeland comes out to open the show. He says it is rainy and nasty out there, but wants to make it hot in here. He goes on to talk about all the things Christian has said, and he actually believes them all in his deluded mind. Christian’s music hits and he comes out flanked with some security personnel, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne. He sits on the turnbuckle with a wall of security between him and Copeland. Christian says Copeland is delusional to buy his own hype. He adds that this security is for Copeland’s protection from him and not him. Cage tells Copeland to leave the arena, or else he will get him removed from the arena just like he got Blackpool Combat Club removed.
Bryan Danielson comes out and informs Cage that Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne are also banned from ringside. AEW Tag Team Champion Ricky Starks and Big Bill come out. Starks reminds Danielson of their matches and what he had to do to get a match with him. Copeland and Starks get into an argument. FTR come out and say they will earn their title shot by working their way up again. Bryan Danielson asks Cage to have their match right away. A brawl breaks out but Danielson, Copeland and FTR can only get their hands on security while the heels leave.
Samoa Joe(c) vs Willie Mack – ROH TV Championship
Joe gets the hammerlock on and pushes Mack to the ropes. The referee calls for a break. Mack goes for a shoulder tackle, but Joe no-sells it. They trade tackles and boots and no-sell each other. Joe hits a running shoulder tackle to drop Mack. He unloads in the corner with kick. Mack hits a lucha armdrag to force Joe to the floor. He hits a crossboddy to take us break.
Mack is still in control as we return. Joe hits a chop and more shots before he misses in the corner. Willie nails a forearm and a running boot on Joe in the corner. He hits a cannonball to get a two-count. Joe hits a big foot and a senton to get a two-count. Mack nails a shot but Joe hits a snap powerslam to get a two-count. Mack hits a stunner but Joe kicks out. He gets to the top rope but Joe trips him. Joe picks up Mack from the ropes and hit a Muscle Buster to get the pinfall.
Winner – Samoa Joe
CJ Perry gets interviewed backstage and gives a pitch to become a manager. Action Andretti comes in and asks her for guidance. Perry is happy at getting a new client so quickly.
We get another vignette for very Evil Danhausen.
Juice Robinson vs Christopher Daniels
Juice leaves the ring after the bell to frustrate Daniels. He hits a kick to midsection. Daniels hits a couple of quick armdrags. He hits another arm drag after a while. Juice brings him down and kicks him out of the ring. Daniels returns to the ring but Juice tackles him down. We cut to a break.
Juice is still in control and hits signature lefts before a senton splash to get a two-count. Daniels hits a bridging Northern Lights suplex to counters a DDT. He hits another suplex before some double ax handles, a kick and an STO. He hits a high angle DDT to get a two-count. Juice tackles him to the corner and lands a big left. Juice hits a cannonball in the corner before finishing it with Pulp Fiction for pinfall.
Winner – Juice Robinson
After the match, Jay White gets down on one knee and gives a ring to Juice. The Gunns holds Daniels and Juice nails him with the Left Hand of God with the ring on it. Juice claims that he will win the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal, and the diamond ring and will pawn it off to go off on a vacation. White adds that MJF’s downfall will start with Juice taking hte Dynamite Diamond Ring and will culminate at Full Gear with him winning the AEW World Championship.
Nick Wayne is being interviewed backstage and is told about his sitdown interview with Jim Ross and his mom on Dynamite next week.
Kyle Fletcher vs Boulder
Boulder pushes Fletcher down after the lock up. Boulder puts on a side headlock but Fletcher comes out of it quickly and fires some shots. Boulder picks him up in military press and hits a body slam. Fletcher avoids a tackle on the ropes and hits a dropkick to send Boulder to the floor. Fletcher hits a suicide dive. Boulder counters a suplex in the ring. Boulder gets to the second rope and Fletcher turns it into a powerbomb. He hits a running knee on the ropes before putting on the dragon sleeper to get the submission.
Winner – Kyle Fletcher
The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn are being interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette. They discuss Max Caster trying to have relationship with MJF. That all goes down the drain as Max asks Renee about “Oral Sessions”. Renee grosses out and leaves in anger. Ex-JAS members come in and challenge them for trios titles. Daniel Garcia tries to dance but Jake Hager takes him away.
Kris Statlander(c) vs Skye Blue – AEW TBS Women’s Championship
Blue counters in the lock up to corner Kris. Kris takes her in headlock and to the mat. Blue breaks free a couple of times but Kris takes her down both times again. Blue hits a cassadora and a running elbow. Kris runs her over before hitting another powerslam. Blue hits a hurricanrana. Kris hits a slam. Skye gets to the apron and hits back with a gamengiri and a neckbreaker on the ropes. We cut to a break.
Skye hits some quick kicks as she tries to fight back. Kris hits back with a kick of her own. She hits a running forearm and Blue Thunderbomb to get a two-count. Blue ducks a lariat and hits a Satellite DDT to get a two-count. Skye hits a powerbomb from the second rope. Kris turns a crossbody into a fallaway slam. Quick counters and thrust kicks from both sides. Skye hits a thrust kick and a dropkick but Kris suddenly hits Saturday Night Fever to get the pinfall.
Winner – Kris Statlander
Kris offers a hand after the match, but Willow Nightingale comes out and tells her that she will handle it.
Kyle Fletcher is backstage and talks about proving that he is not just a good tag team wrestler but a good singles wrestler also. And to prove it, he calls out Kenny Omega.
We get a vignette from La Faccion Ingobernables and they want to beat up the weaks and powerfuls.
Keith Lee vs Turbo Floyd
Floyd hits a kick to midsection to start. Lee counters a DDT with a back body drop before hitting a running tackle. He hits powerbomb to get the pinfall.
Winner – Keith Lee
We hear from Miro who says the last few weeks have been tough with his wife’s hotness being around. The Evil often tempts and seduces you in the bright lights. For now, she will be surrounded by all the things she loves, and that’s what will happen unless he kills it off at every turn. Miro wants this to be a warning for everyone that he is willing to destroy every man to protect that one woman. He reveals a beaten up Action Andretti by his side.
Christian Cage(c) vs Bryan Danielson – AEW TNT Championship
Mostly mat wrestling until the first commercial break.
Bryan hits a running knee against a chair on the barricade. He brings Christian back to the ring for a two-count. Cage rakes his eyes and hits a DDT to take over control. Christian keeps control for a while. Bryan gets his knees up on a splash from for the top. Bryan rallies with quick moves. Christian cuts him off at the ropes when he goes for a suicide dive. Christian works on him on the ropes before dropping him with a hammer lock suplex on the apron. We cut to another break.
Christian slams Bryan’s injured arm on the announce table. He slams the arm one more time before going back to the ring. Christian puts Bryan on the second rope and hits punches. Christian gets up but Bryan hits him with headbutt to drop him back to the mat. Bryan hits a diving headbutt. Christian’s head is scratched and is bloodied. They trade punches when they get up. Bryan hits a headbutts but Christian hits chops. Bryan hits a lariat next to drop Christian. Yes kicks from Bryan forces him to the floor and Bryan follows up with a suicide dive. A missile dropkick gets him a near fall.
Bryan hits a running dropkick in the corner before Christian counters an avalanche hurricanrana with a sunset flip. He drops Bryan’s face into the mat before hitting a frog splash for a near fall. Bryan hits Yes kicks again. Christian hits him with a kick to the face. Bryan cuts off the spear and hits a roundhouse kick. Bryan gets ready for a Busaika knee but Christian hits a spear. Bryan kicks out though. Bryan ducks the second spear and hits Busaika Knee. Cage also kicks out. Bryan puts on the Labell lock. Christian gets to the ropes. Bryan puts the submission again. Big Bill comes out and the referee tries to stop him from interferring. But, it is Ricky Starks who hits Bryan with a title belt. Christian covers Bryan to get the pinfall.
Winner – Christian Cage
After the match, Bill, Starks, Nick Wayne and Luchasaurus beat up Bryan. FTR run out for the save. Edge finally runs out for more assist. He ends the night with a spear on Nick Wayne after they clear the ring.
