Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Collision July 29, 2023 episode, which was live from XL Center in Hartford, CT, with the build-up towards All In 2023 and All Out 2023 event.

The show featured AEW Tag Team Championship match where FTR defended the title against Blind Eliminator Tournament winner Adam Cole and AEW World Champion MJF. Another important match saw Buddy Mathews and Andrade El Idolo clashing in a ladder match with Andrade’s mask hanging on the top.

Mercedes Martinez and Keira Hogan clashed in a singles match. Another singles match saw Samoa Joe taking on Gravity. Bullet Club Gold was in action against El Hijo Del Vikingo, Action Andretti and Darius Martin.

Buddy Mathews vs Andrade El Idolo – Ladder Match for Andrade’s Mask

Julia Hart distracts Andrade but he side steps a running knee strike and Buddy crashes into the corner. They trade chops until Andrade clotheslines Buddy to the floor. Andrade hits a moonsault on the floor from the middle of a ladder. Andrade puts some ladder into the ring. Buddy hits some quick strikes but Andrade sends him into a ladder. Andrade goes for the three amigos but Buddy counters the third suplex. Andrade sends Buddy into the ladder once again. Andrade sets up Buddy behind a ladder but Buddy throws the ladder on him. Buddy is getting his arm checked by ringside medical personnel as we cut to a break.

Buddy is in control throughout the break. We see him slamming Andrade’s face into the announce table. A ladder is setup in between the announce table and the apron. Andrade tries to fight back but Buddy sends him into this ladder. Buddy goes for a powerbomb through the ladder but Andrade fights back. Andrade hangs onto the ropes and nails forearm shots before sending Buddy to the apron. He slams Buddy’s face into the turnbuckle. Andrade hits a spear through the ropes but Buddy turns it into a DDT on the ladder.

Buddy sets up a ladder into corner and slams his face into it a few times. Buddy climbs the ladder now. Andrade trips the ladder before hitting a spinning back elbow. Andrade climbs a ladder on the outside. Buddy gets up on the same ladder and they start trading shots. Andrade hits a sunset flip powerbomb on a ladder bridged between this ladder and the bottom rope. Andrade climbs the ladder now but Buddy pulls him down and nails him with a knee strike on his way down.

Julia has a pair of handcuffs. Buddy puts them on Andrade but Andrade nails him with a boot to counter a chair shot. He ends up putting the handcuffs on Buddy and throws the keys into the crowd. Julia is trying to cut it but has to go after Andrade to slow him down. Buddy breaks the handcuffs and climbs to the top. Andrade pushes him off. Julia slaps him. Andrade pushes Julia off the top and onto Buddy. The momentum takes them through a table set up in the corner. Andrade recovers his mask easily.

Winner – Andrade

Miro is interviewed backstage when Aaron Solow attacks him with a chair. Miro turns it around quickly to bring Solo down.

Minoru Suzuki vs Darby Allin

Minoru Suzuki is the surpirse opponent for Darby. Daisy hits a suicide dive on him before he can get in. He punches on him on a chair. He hits a running dropkick off the apron. They get into the ring to get the bell rung and Darby start throwing shots, which are all no-selled. Suzuki drops Darby with one shot. Suzuki throws Darby around a bit before a snapmare and a kick to the chest. He removes the tape from Darby’s ribs and attacks them to take us to a break.

Darby removes tapings from his hand and hits a big chop. Suzuki hits him back with a chop. They keep trading hard chops. Suzuki offers free shots and Darby takes advantage of it with a flurry of strikes into a sunset flip for a two-count. Darby hits corner splashes before Suzuki grabs him into a sleeper choke. Darby fights out with a cutter and gets to the top. Darby goes for a Coffin drop but Suzuki catches him in a choke. Darby rolls over to turn it into a pinfall.

Winner – Darby Allin

Christian Cage appears on the screen with Luchasaurus. Cage says Darby is disracted with Swerve Strickland and his former friend AR Fox. He claims that he will send Darby back to working at the mall.


AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm cuts a promo against Hikaru Shida claiming that Shida will not be able to beat her for the title.

Samoa Joe vs Gravity

Gravity ducks the lock up and mocks Joe with anti-Gravity walk. He gets to Joe’s back and hits a big blow. He hits a couple of armdrags. Joe nails him with a shot before taking him from corner to corner to hit more shots. Joe walks away from a moonsault before nailing some punches. Joe hits Muscle Buster to get the pinfall.

Winner – Samoa Joe

World Title Match Agreed!

Tony Schiavone brings out CM Punk. Tony asks Punk about the controversy with Ricky Starks and what is he carrying in the bag with him. Punk says that there are many things going on in AEW. He then mentions All In event at Wembley and we might get to know about his opponent by the end of the night. Next, what’s in the bag? Punk says Starks is a cheater and took his niceness to his kindness. Punk then reveals an AEW World Championship match. He says he is the real champion as it has his blood and sweat, and will now have his sign on it. Punk paints a “X” on it.

Starks interrupts him first and then gets his music going to make his entrance. Starks says he is sold on gold right now. He claims that Punk would have done the same thing if he was in his place. Punk says it seems that Ricky wants a title shot. Ricky says he deserves a title shot. Punk says he will need a special guest referee as Ricky has already screwed him a couple of times. Starks says Punk is welcome to bring in any one. They agree to a match. Punk then tells Tony Schiavone to reveal the name. Tony says Ricky Dragon Steamboat will be the special guest referee.

El Hijo Del Vikingo, Action Andretti & Darius Martin vs Bullet Club Gold(Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn & Juice Robinson)

Colten and Martin start the match. Colten hits a punch. Martin hits a crossbody. Martin hits more quick moves to send Colten to the floor and we cut to a break.

Back and forth action after the break. Vikingo hits a moonsault from the top turnbuckle on all 3 opponents on the floor. Colten pushes Andretti into Martin when the action returns to the ring. The Gunns hit 3:10 of Yuma to get the pinfall on Martin.

Winners – Bullet Club Gold

Keira Hogan vs Mercedes Martinez

Martinez rushes with a kick as the bell rings. More kicks from Martinez before Hogan fires back with some kicks. Martinez slams her face first into the mat. She hits a brainbuster next. Hogan comes back with some chops but Martinez hits her bck with some big shots. Martinez hits a swinging neckbreaker from the top rope to get a two-count. We cut to a break.

Hogan gets a two-count after the break. Martinez fires shots before Hogan rolls her up for a two-count. Martinez blocks a fisherman buster and hits a saito suplex. She hits a running knee next. Martinez puts on Brass City sleeper on get the submission.

Winner – Mercedes Martinez

Martinez does not let go off the lock after the break. TBS Women’s Champion Kris Statlander runs out. Martinez runs over Statlander with her own title belt. Willow Nightingale runs out to force Martinez to leave.

FTR(Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)(c) vs Adam Cole & MJF – AEW World Tag Team Championship Match

Cole and Dax start the match with quick counters. Cole pushes Dax to the corner to break free of a headlock. Cash hits a crossbody after a blind tag. Cash puts on a side headlock briefly. Cash hits a shoulder tackle. Cole hits an enzuigiri. MJF tags in but Dax holds Cash back to save him from a double clothesline. MJF and Cash face-off now. A quick back and forth before Dax tags in. Dax avoids an elbow drop after a double-leg takedown from MJF. Dax hits a tackle and a scoop slam. MJF also hits a scoop slam.

MJF does a leapfrog but twists his ankle when he lands. No.. he was just playing possum. MJF gets a double-leg takedown and teases a sharpshooter. Things get heated between MJF and Dax which brings in Cole and Cash also. We cut to a break as a brawl breaks out.

Dax is in control against MJF as we return. He puts on a chinlock briefly. MJF kicks him away when he tries to go for a sharpshooter. MJF tries his best to counter double team from FTR but they catch him. MJF hits a double DDT to drop both opponents. FTR still stop him from a tag out. MJF ducks a double clothesline and tags in Cole. Cole hits clotheslines and back elbows before more quick shots. Cole hits a brainbuster on his knees to get a two-count.

Dax gets a blind tag but Cole ducks him and hits a backstabber on Cash. Dax hits him with a crossbody before a O’Connor roll to get a two-count. Cole hits a superkick to get a near fall. MJF tags in but Dax ducks under a double clothesline. Cash pulls Cole down and tags in. MJF and Cash counter piledrivers until a superkick from Cole allows MJF to roll Cash over for a near fall. More superkicks from Cole on Cash and Dax allows MJF to get a near fall. Cole tags in. Dax pulls out MJF and ducks a pump knee from Cole. Cash puts Coel to the top.

Cole fights off FTR on the top rope. Dax pushes Cash away from the Panama Sunrise. Dax hits Cole with a superplex and Cash hits a splash on the follow-up. Cole kicks out of the pinfall. MJF tags in and trades shots with Dax. Dax nails a big right before MJF flips him over for a two-count. Dax hits a slingshot powerbomb for another near fall. Cole tags in. Cash hits an uppercut on Cole but MJF saves him. MJF avoids the Shatter Machine but Dax rolls him over to get the pinfall.

Winners – FTR

Adam Cole shakes hands with FTR in respect after the match. MJF is distraught at getting pinned and losing the match. Cole motivates him and tells him that he is the World Champion. They hug it out before doing the rounds to close the show.
