Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Collision July 22, 2023, which was live from Prudential Center in Neward, NJ.

Ricky Starks opened the show with a celebration of his Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2023. CM Punk, who lost in the final to Starks, had vowed to pick up a fight on the show. AEW Tag Team Champions FTR addressed fans before their title defense next week against Adam Cole and MJF.

AEW Trios Championship match was set for the show where House of Black will defend the titles against The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn in a rematch from Double or Nothing PPV. Skye Blue and Taya Valkyrie clashed in a singles match.

RESULTS

Bullet Club Gold (Juice Robinson & Jay White) defeated Darius Martin & Action Andretti in a tag team match via pinfall.
Miro defeated Nick Comorato in a singles match via submission.
House of Black(Buddy Matthews, Brody King, & Malakai Black)(c) def. The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) & Billy Gunn in a tag team match via pinfall to retain AEW Trios Championship.
Taya Valkyrie defeated Skye Blue in a singles match via pinfall.
Ricky Starks & Christian Cage defeated CM Punk & Darby Allin in a tag team match via pinfall.

Ricky Starks Celebrates!

Tony Schiavone asks Ricky Starks to come out. Starks makes his entrance and pyro goes off. He has a bag in his hands. “You Deserve It” chants from the show. Schiavone asks him about the controversial way he won the final match. Starks says 20 years later, they will ask me how many and now how. He got the job done by any means neccessary. He asks to talk to him about how sexy he is, and how well he dresses. Schiavone asks him about disrespect to Jushin Thunder Liger. Starks says he has utmost respect to Jushi Thunder Liger.

Starks says he does not want to be the Four Pillar. CM Punk casually walks out to the ring. Punk says he is not here to rain on Starks’ parade. He is mad at himself, and is actually proud of Starks as he can’t pretend that he never cheated in his life. He can live with the loss, but asks Starks if he can live with the win realizing that Starks can’t beat Punk without losing. Punk leaves and goes to the stage. Starks is miffed with the comment and taunts Punk by saying that he can’t have what’s in his bag. Punk returns to the ring and says he is still the AEW World Champion.

Christian Cage comes out with Luchasaurus and TNT Championship. He says he is contractually obligated to come out tonight, but this is taking too long. He asks Punk what kind of man carries around the title that he never won. Darby Allin comes and snatches his mic away. He gets into the ring and says he hates the term pillar as anyone can be the pillar in this company if he rides and dies with the company. He mocks Cage for carrying around the title. He then proposes a tag team match with Punk and Darby in one side vs Starks and either of Luchasaurus or Cage. Schiavone says Tony Khan has made it official.

We see Andrade El Idolo being stopped from coming into the building to stop him from interfering in the Trios title match tonight.

Bullet Club Gold (Juice Robinson & Jay White) vs. Darius Martin & Action Andretti

The Gunns accompany White and Juice for the match. White starts with a corner tackles before tagging in Juice. Darius hits back with kicks and throws out White before an enzuigiri to Juice. Andretti tags in and hits twisting crossbody. Andretti hits a springboard armdrag before bringing in Martin for some dropkicks. Juice hits a German suplex but Andretti lands on his feet. Juice hits a clothesline to take Andretti down. White tags in and takes Andretti to the corner. Juice drops Andretti off the apron and to the floor with an elbow drop. White throws Martin into the barricade. Bullet Club Gold pose to send us to a break.

Andretti counters a vertical suplex with an inside cradle for a two-count. Andretti hits an enzuigiri on Juice but White blocks a tag out. Andretti jumps over him and tags in Martin who comes in hot for quick dropkicks and clotheslines. He hits a DDT combo on both opponents to get a two-count. He hits a crossbody off the top on White to get a two-count. He hits a crossbody on Juice on the outside. He clotheslines White to the floor. Andretti tags in and hits a springboard moonsault on the floor. Martin tags in and they hit a dropkick and German suplex combo on White for a near fall. Andretti keeps Juice out of the ring and hits White with an enzuigiri.

Juice blocks and trips Andretti on the top rope. White throws Martin from the ring. Robinson hits a big left and Pulp Fiction on Andretti. White finishes off with Blade Runner to get the pinfall.

Miro vs Nick Comorato

Nick Comorato attacks Miro on the stage. He gets Miro to ringside and throws him in to the steel steps. Comorato hits a Death Valley driver in the ring as the bell ring, but Miro kicks at 1. Comorato hits corner clothesline before a hard whip across the ring and a corner splash. Miro dodges another corner splash and hits a big tackle. Miro hits the Machka kick to drop Comorato for good. He puts on the Camel Clutch to get a submission.

Winner – Miro

We get a video package for FTR.

House of Black (Buddy Matthews, Brody King, & Malakai Black) (c) vs. The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) & Billy Gunn – AEW Trios Championship

Mathews attacks Caster to stop his rap. Black takes Bowens, and Brody fights Gunn. Mathews and Caster are in the ring as the bell rings. Brody hits a crossbody on Gunn on a chair against the barricade. Black tags in after more some kicks from Mathews. Black hits a back heel kick on Caster. Brody hits big chops in the corner before a body slam and a senton. Mathews comes in and Caster counters. He throws Brody out when he comes in. Brody pulls Bowens off the apron to stop a tag.

Gunn throws Brody into the barricade and gets to the apron. Mathews is kicked out to the corner and Caster tags in Gunn. Gunn lands shots on Mathews and Black before some corner clotheslines on both of them. Brody runs him over with a clothesline. House of Black finish Gunn off with some combination attack to get the pinfall win.

After the match, Black says something in Gunn’s ears before leaving. Gunn starts to untie his boots. He leaves the boots in the ring and leaves.

Tony Schiavone brings out FTR to the ring. He asks them about their title defense next week. Wheeler names some top tag teams in AEW that they have unfinished business with, but they have to first take on Adam Cole and MJF, who are not even a real tag team. Wheeler tells Cole not to trush MJF because MJF himself says the biggest trick Devil pulled was to convince everyone that he does not exists. Harwood starts to take shots at Cole and MJF over the comedy element in the biggest tag team of their career, while he himself has suffered many injuries to take the tag team wrestling to a place where it currently is. So, next week, they will give Cole and MJF an a##-kicking.

Skye Blue vs Taya Valkyrie

Taya taps on Blue’s head to mock her before shoving her to the mat. Blue gets on a waistlock but Taya throws her away before hitting some kicks and chops in the corner. Blue turns it around in the corner for chops and punches. Taya hits a shoulder tackle to drop Blue. Blue brings her down after coming off the ropes. Taya sends her to the apron and tackles her to the mat. Taya hits spear on the floor before bringing her back in. Blue avoids a shot at the ropes and drops Taya on her knees. Taya comes back with spin out powerbomb to get a near fall. We cut to a break.

Blue tries to fight back as we return. Taya hits back with a clothesline and both women are down. They trade forearms before Blue hits shotgun dropkick. She hits an enzuigiri and roundhouse kick before a crossbody off the top to get a two-count. Taya comes back with a German suplex off the ropes. Blue fires mores shots but Taya hits a lariat. She hits a curbstomo ti get the pinfall.

Winner – Taya Valkyrie

After the match, Taya cuts a promo challenging Dr. Britt Baker DMD for a match on Dynamtie next week.

CM Punk & Darby Allin vs Ricky Starks & Christian Cage

Punk to start for his team but neither man wants to start from opposite team. Starks answers the countdown but tags to Christian. Christian refuses to get in. Punk brings in Christian with a hip toss. He slams Christian’s face into the turnbuckle, hits countdown punches, and hits another hip toss. Darby tags in for an arm wringer, and brings back Punk. They do quick tags with arm wringers. Darby gets Christian in a backslide for a two-count.

Christian hits a kick to the midsection. Darby jumps over him and tags out out Punk who tackles Cage. Starks refuses to tag in. Cage blocks a GTS but takes control over. Starks tags in but Punk takes the control back. Both opponents are thrown outside and Punk hits a suicide dive. Darby hits a Coffin Drop to take us to a break.

Cage has taken over the control as we return. Quick tags from Starks and Cage. Starks hits a back drop suplex to get a two-count. Starks hits big chops before Punk counters with a O’Connor roll to get a two-count. Starks blocks him from a tag out. Starks hits him with old school. Scorpio Sky is watching the match from the sky box. Punk drops Starks and gives a hot tag to Cage. Darby hits sliced bread on Cage before a sunset flip to get a two-count on Starks.

Darby hits a suicide dive on Starks. He goes for a suicide dive on Cage but Luchasaurus gets in his way and tackles him. Cage throws Darby into the announce table. Starks hits hard whips to the corner after bringing Darby back to the ring. He hits a running snake eyes and a lariat to get a two-count. We cut to another break.

Starks hits a backbreaker on Darby as we return. Cage hits an inverted DDT after a tag. Cage goes to the top but misses a diving headbutt. Punk gets a hot tag finally and hits quick moves on both opponents including dropkicks and clotheslines. He hits jumping knee in the corner before DDT and bulldog combo. Cage kicks out of the pin after a discuss lariat. Cage counters a crossbody to get a two-count. Punk hits a back body drop from the top rope. and follows up with an elbow drop.

Starks tags in and he blocks a GTS from Punk. Punk reverses a bridge before they start to trade punches. Darby tags in after this and Starks catches him with a spear midair. Starks hits Roshambo but Darby kicks out of the pin. Darby counters a superplex with an avalanche reverse DDT. Punk takes Cage to the floor and hits GTS. Darby gets to the top but Luchasaurus trips him. Starks goes for Roshambo but Darby counters with a pinfall attempt. Starks rolls him over and hangs onto the ropes to get the pinfall.
