UFC 314 Card Set: New Champ, New Signing & Big Co-Main Event
UFC President Dana White has revealed a fight card with major surprises for UFC 314 PPV event.
White took to his social media accounts late on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to reveal the some major fights for UFC 314. At the top of the card is a bout to crown the new UFC Featherweight Champion. Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes will fight it out for the vacant title.
Volkanovski lost the featherweight title in his last fight to Ilia Topuria. Topuria, the reigning champion, will vacate the title when this bouts gets underway as he is set to move up to the lightweight division(155 lbs) later this year.
Diego Lopes, ranked at #3 in UFC Rankings in featherweight division, is rewarded with a title fight for his impressive 5 fights winning streak. He recently defeated Brian Ortega at UFC 306 via unanimous decision.
Another surprise on the card was Patricio Pitbull being named on the card. Patricio, the former Bellator MMA Double Champion, left PFL earlier this month after he was granted a release from his contract. He has now signed with UFC and is set to fight former interim Featherweight Champion Yair Rodriguez.
The co-main event is announced to be a 5-round bout between lightweights Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett. Chandler returned to action in November his long wait to fight Conor McGregor did not come to fruition. He lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC 309. Pimblett is also out of action since UFC 304 in July 2024.
UFC 314 is set to take place on April 12, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL. The confirmed card so far is as below:
